    Food Before and After Photos

Been traveling all day and was able to only get in one meal. Bought some cheese plate ingredients at the store and had a little charcuterie plate. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. I know this is a common one but im particularly excited about it because I distinctly remember being 340 lbs and watching these "progress" videos of other women with towels wrapped around their body, showing how they gradually start fitting into bath towels as they lose weight and I remember feeling so sad and discouraged...like I didn't have it in me to get there too. I'm traveling and in a hotel right now and to my surprise this is the first time a regular "hotel" towel has wrapped all the way around my body without a humongous gap exposing my side and stomach. I am so happy about this I can't even explain it. It just confirms it for me that I can have the things I want, that I deserve them too and am just as strong to fight for them. Photo: the first picture is from just a week preop, the second is from today. Yes...I had to censor my booty cheek lol that whole blue part is the towel that didn't close and that towel is bigger than this one I have here. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

    First post op date

Thats true, its so specific. He mentioned he hates really fatty foods and exclusively eats protein and greens mainly. I was like you and I are going to get along fine haha. You never know tok. Once you're comfortable, it can be exciting to go on a date. Especially if you let your weight hold you back in the past. It's weird having a crush on someone again but it feels good. I'm also not hyper self conscious about my size. I feel good too. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. Hey! I was curious if anyone is experiencing this or has experienced this in the past. I'm a little over 3 months post op and as I transition more into regular eating, I find that I CANNOT eat in the mornings to early afternoon. Like my body can't physically handle food until around 2pm. If I eat something before then it gets "stuck" or I get the slimeee and need to puke. Doesn't matter what it is, I try eggs, protein yogurt, beans, cheese, veggies, fruit, all of it gets stuck and I get nauseous for an hour or so. This has been a recent development...maybe the past month this has started. It's not a stricture because past 2 I have no issues regardless of what the food is and don't feel my restriction at night but I do get nauseous if I overdo it. So far I just drink a protein shake in the morning or just a coffee or water and then two meals past 2pm to get my calories and protein in. Idk it's so weird. Wondering why the restriction is so extreme in the morning. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

    First post op date

Definitely understand why you want to wait. I also don't feel like myself yet. It's kind of weird being like hey I'm going to lose a lot more weight heads up haha. I went on another date last night with a new person and we talked about weight loss because he was very health conscious. I told him that I recently lost over 80lbs and have issues absorbing vitamins so I take special tablets and get bloodwork every 3 months. I wonder if he put two and two together. I still don't think I'd tell a date until I reach my goal weight. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

  8. As I'm getting closer to my "goal zone" (in between 220-190) I'm wondering if anyone else who is female and six feet or taller was given a goal weight and what that should be. I distinctly remember my doctor showing me a chart during my initial consultation that put my sex and height at a desirable weight of 160 lbs but then my surgeon quickly said, that's not realistic for my frame/body and that these charts were outdated and inaccurate. He instead said I don't have a goal weight but told me he typically likes to see his patients under a BMI of 30 to reduce co-morbidities with being obese. Since 220 puts me in the "overweight" range, I'm sticking to that as a realistic goal until I achieve it and will assess the situation from there (how I feel, look etc). I'm wondering if any females who have big frames, broad shoulders, and are tall, like 6 feet and above, were given goal weights. What do you think about it? Is/was it achievable? Are you happy with how you look?
  9. I think it just goes to show weights look different on everyone because I know some tall girls who weigh around 160 and look great. I also know that at 235 I was looking decent, wore size 14 and L shirts and felt really good physically. I don't know though. I just hope I can make it to 220. 10. Yeah have to keep that in mind. It'd be so nice to be under 200 though Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. Thats true. I feel like if I give myself a goal like 175 I'm never going to get there. I need to chunk things to make them mentally scalable lol I guess I'll see how 220 looks on me first. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. Nice! Did you get any excess skin removed? That can also affect weight. I'm also thinking doctors give u a goal factoring in excess skin. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. Thanks for sharing! I feel like I couldn't even imagine being under 200 lbs but I think I just haven't weighed less than 200 since I was a little kid. I once lost a lot of weight too and got to 235. I don't have many pics from those days but I hve this one. I remember being able to feel my ribs and hip bones at that weight. I had a lot of loose skin on my lower stomach (apron stomach). My hips are really wide too. The side by side was me at like 300 lbs and the one next to it in the denim coat is about now at 255. February 2022 Surgery Buddies

Congrats!! I'm looking forward to just being overweight LOL It's a big accomplishment! My hair is falling out too. I am just parting it differently. Sometimes I wear ball caps. If it was colder, I'd wear a beanie.

    Affordable personal training

I'm really looking for in person opportunities with weight machines. I am pretty decent with my cardio but have no clue what to do when it comes to weight training. I feel like it'll be beneficial for my metabolism and loose skin. (My arms and legs already look atrocious can't wait for maintenence so I can get everything sliced off lol) I guess I could look up weight training videos and bring them to the gym! 17. Does anyone have any advice on how to get an affordable personal trainer? I'm just broke enough where that's not really in the budget but I want someone to help me develop my muscle groups so badly. Are there any special online websites or gyms you know of? I'm moving to Texas in a month so I'm thinking of starting there. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

The slimes.... can anyone explain them?

No. Dumping is a different beast although personally I think slime is worse because of the chest pain. I've dumped once since my surgery in Feb 2022. I didn't puke or go to the bathroom but I wanted to throw up. It was mainly dizziness, rapid heart beat, hot flashes, and bowel discomfort. Slimies are more focused on your esophagus I feel and usually accompanied by puking. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

The slimes.... can anyone explain them?

It's over production of mucus I think. It's gross. I've had it happen to me. It's the worst with cooked broccoli for me. I spit up for 20 minutes then eventually throw up a big ball of mucus. Lovely, I know but part of all of this lol Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Three Months

Hey I'm a bit over 3 months post op. Same thing with me. I miss salads dearly and I get random nausea. My doctor said that's normal. Everyday is different. Sometimes what worked before won't work tomorrow. I will probably try salad soon since I'm tolerating everything really well. Will start out with iceberg. I'm already allowed to eat all other raw vegetables. But yeah, I think it's just part of the experience. I get nauseous for no reason, still need zofran from time to time. I think it'll get better by month 6. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Regrets ?

No regrets. Over 3 months post op. Lost a lot ot weight and have the beat relationship with food I've ever had in my entire life. I don't miss overeating. All I can remember was how sick and stuffed I felt all the time in the past. That's no longer my reality. I feel so thankful and blessed to be on this journey. First post op date

Thanks! Yeah it went well but I wasn't feeling it tbh. He luckily didn't offer food or anything but we talked about weight loss because he said he really wants to lose 10 lbs and I can't believe it but I told him I was on a weight loss journey and recently lost a lot of weight. That was the first time ever I've been comfortable enough with MYSELF to talk about that so I'm very happy about that. In the past I would freeze up if a date talked about diet or exercise (even when I was losing weight in the past, I had such a negative relationship to myself and my body) but it made me realize how much I've grown as a person to be able to speak openly about that. I phrased it like yeah I'm on a weight loss journey so I'm very conscious about what I'm eating and drinking right now. Didn't mention surgery but then he was like thats great i want to lose 10 lbs, maybe for our next date we can go on a run together LOL Not sure there will be a next date for me. I did that for experience and to flex my dating muscle a bit. He was very sweet But I'm also moving states so I'm not particularly interested in long term relationships at the moment. He did give me this funny business card at the end. I wonder how it will be in the future though. I don't know why but I almost don't want to tell whoever I date I had gastric bypass until I'm at my goal weight. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Fairlife Core Power 42 grams

Wow I DID NOT know this haha definitely need to change my protein habits then..I tend to try to get it all in through a shake and protein snack. I looked it up and yeah seems like I can't have more than 26ish grams of protein at a time? I just started splitting my shakes. Good to know. Thanks!!!
