    Would you do it again?

    Absolutely! I am down 61lbs I was motivated pre-op and lost 35lbs and I am still motivated and I have lost another 26lbs. I have so much energy that I cannot sit still. I am at the gym so much I think my DH will forget what I look like. I am also going to start training for a 5K run next month. Prior to all of this there would be no way I would even considered it for a minute. Restriction is a great thing too! For instance I received my EOB yesterday for $81K saying it was my responsibility and it did not shake me up. This is between my insurance company and the hospital. The insurance company even told me not to worry and I am not. Prior to this I would have been a complete basket case and I would eat everything in site. Not today! The time on the phone with them was the right amount of time I needed to eat my healthy lunch :scared2:

    March exercise challenge

    YAY! Congrats to the both of you! Peanutband my legs were not cooperating today but I kept on going by putting more upbeat old school club music on my mp3 and kept on yelling at myself to keep moving don't stop moving now! I hit my half way point today towards my monthly goal so that's another thing that keeps me going. I have another goal which I hope to conquer in July. I am starting a program that trains you to walk or run a 5K. The walking part is okay for me but my main goal is to add in running. I really want to run some or all of it in July when the 5K is being held.

    March exercise challenge

    I am doing well with my challenge. My trainer added more to what I do which is a challenge in it's self. Now about the elliptical machine get that thought out of your head! You can do it!! When you are on the elliptical what do you do? Do you listen to music? Do you watch TV? In my gym I watch TV and I listen to music at the same time. It helps to keep my mind off of the time. Also some people actually cover the time on the machine so it's not in their face. Don't give up it will get easier. Congrats on getting to 10 minutes! Keep up the great work :laugh: Like I mentioned earlier I added an extra minute every time I got on the machine. So that may help.

    Hospitals -v- Surgery Centers

    Mine was in a hospital and I stayed overnight. I have chronic asthma and sleep apnea so my pulmonologist and surgeon wanted to monitor me closely. I was in the ICU. I also have had procedures in out patient surgery again with no problems. The surgery center treated me the same as if I was in a hospital. Congrats to you and good luck!
  10. I use Daily Plate via the web and my iPhone. The application is free and if you have a login on the web just use that on the iPhone and it will automatically sync your information to the iPhone. If you want this application and cannot find it on iTunes just search using livestrong. DH suggested I try Lose It instead he likes this one better.

    Celebrate 100lbs loss?

    That's fantastic! Congrats! My DH told me that when I reach my goal I can go on a clothes shopping spree. I also have witnesses so he cannot go back on it once he realizes how much I can spend :scared2: Like others have said a trip is nice and a day at the spa. You deserve both in my opinion

    Help me!!!! Please!!!

    I agree with everyone here. Your PCP needs a lap band education. I asked my PCP what he knew and I was very surprised by just how much he did know and how happy he was that I chose lap band over gastric bypass. He told me about the seminars and how to choose a surgeon. I would go through with it because you are the one who matters. You know what to do to make sure your band works with you to lose the weight. Even if there are times when you take a couple of steps back you can always get back on track. I do not regret my decision at all.

    March exercise challenge

    I am challenging myself to workout 1000 minutes by the end of this month. Prior to surgery it took me about month to do 30 minutes on the elliptical. I love the elliptical machine. I also workout on the machines and I also use weights. Every Thursday morning I go to an Aerobics class. My challenge is to stay motivated and keep on going to the gym. Congrats on your 5 minutes! That's a lot. When I first started this machine my trainer said start by doing 1-2 minutes and then add a minute the next time you are on it. I thought 1-2 minutes that's it? But she was right the 1-2 minutes felt like 15 minutes or more.
  14. There is another one that I heard was popular so I bought it and now I have to use it. It's called Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2009. There's paint grenade toss, cannon attack, handcar pump, tire trail, rowing, monkey bars, log jump, log walk, boxing, punching bag dodge, and running. All of these can be customized by you. I purchased mine from Best Buy.

    Has anyone had a fill yet?

    My first fill was on the 26th and I was filled with 2ccs in a 14cc band. I can only eat a 1/2 cup of food. It's the weirdest feeling for me. I got stuck a little today after eating very well piece of chewed chicken it stayed for a little bit and I was out when it happened. I did not panic and my DH knew right away what was happening. I just rubbed my chest in that area lightly and it went down. I did not know what else to do but lucky enough for me it worked or I would have been on my way to get Papaya enzymes from Trader Joe's.

    No fill needed

    I went in on the 12th and was told that I did not need a fill. I go in again on the 26th so we will see. Nothing has changed so maybe I will not be filled on the 26th either. I lost another two pounds since my visit on the 12th.

    Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal

    I had a deduction of $300.00 which they have already applied to my surgeon's bill. I do not know about the hospital part yet because the hospital has not billed them. But I do know that I will pay $200.00 for a copayment. I had emergency surgery in December and only paid the copayment at that time too. What is the 15% for? I am not aware of the 15% for the hospital also. There is nothing mentioned about this in my benefit plan brochure and I have standard also. I know my I am responsible for 15% of the plan allowance for my surgeon, the anesthesia, and the radiology. You only pay 15% of what the plan pays them. For example here's my surgeon: Billed Amount: $3,750.00 Covered Charge Amount: $3,750.00 Medicare / Other Ins.: $0.00 Deductible Amount: $300.00 Coinsurance Amount: $110.83 Co-payment Amount: $0.00 Amount Paid: $628.09 What You Owe This Provider: $410.83

    Thanks for this information. I have not needed a fill yet. I am going next week and will find out how they bill since fills are done in his office. I pay $20.00 co-pay now so if he bills like yours wow that much for a fill! Yikes!:tt2: I hope I can stay restricted like I am without ever needing a fill

    Three Weeks Out!

    I am six weeks out and yes it went by very quick. I start regular foods this weekend :tt2: Part of me is excited and the other part is scared. I finally can have a salad too which I have been craving. I have also been released at the gym so I have been there this week. I lost another two pounds this week and I have good restriction without a fill so I am happy about that. Next week when I see my surgeon will tell me how I did with my weight loss and if I will have a fill so far he said I am okay without one.

    My port....

    Mine is a couple of inches above my belly button and it caves in and grosses me out because it looks like another belly button. Sorry no pictures I think I gave TMI already :thumbup:

    keep it a secret?

    I am not thrilled either but I think by telling them I am eating healthier and exercising it's not really a "lie" because it's part of what I am doing to lose. I don't know but those already in my support group are those I see the most so like you I guess I will also cross that bridge when I get to it :thumbup:
