  1. Very true! I got there today…glory!
  2. Awwww relief! LOL I was feeling much better today 10 days out, my body did as it should this time. It was also intense. HAPPY 😃
  3. I can’t wait to find out!! Good for you! That’s a win for sure 😁
  4. Ha ha!!!! I love it!! Good going!!
  5. Yes! Here’s to hoping it does. It’s so strange. I’m very much in tune with my body and I’ve always noticed everything. Something has changed, and like other people who have replied have mentioned…perhaps it’s too early and I’m overthinking this. It’s been 8 days for me so you’re one day ahead! Please come back to this thread to let me know if it’s improved. To be honest, I’m still so tired and I still feel pain on my left side where they pulled out the stomach and just general pain in my stomach area (soreness) This too shall pass I know, but not being able to orgasm freaked me out!
  6. Thank you. Healing on the inside in more ways than one. Received!
  7. Thank you, you’re right. Having it not happen has made me stress. I’m going to give it more time and concentrate on feeling better.
  8. It’s natural to feel apprehensive right before something major like a life changing surgery. I had mine 6 days ago and I almost cancelled the day before. I feel so much better that this weight is coming off and so will you. Even with that being said…it’s permanent and lifestyle changes will be forced upon you. Every body (literally) is different and drinking water will just take longer but it will be able to be done, just slower. All the best

    Daily intake

How many calories is everyone averaging within the first few weeks of surgery? I am on Day 5 and average about 400. I’m curious. I am having a hard time with the protein drinks.

    I think I messed up!!

Thank you. I feel horrible and now I’m contemplating calling the surgeons office to let them know what happened. I should have not done that! From this point moving forward I’ll stick to the creamy soups and such. I think I was thinking that since they are allowing me sugar free pudding and yogurt, that I imagined a smoothie to be fine…wrong!
  11. I think I messed up! I had my VSG done on the 15th and stayed in the hospital that night. The next day before I was released, they moved me to full liquids, so in the hospital I had cream of chicken Soup and some V-8 juice. Upon getting home I did the same along with my Protein Drinks, Water etc. So…today I tried a green smoothie. It had kale in it, half a banana, 2% milk and some mango. Only drank half of it and within a few hours I was on the toilet with diarrhea. I noticed that the kale was chopped up really fine but you could still see specs in it. I got it from a smoothie place, it wasn’t homemade. Was it too early in the full liquid stage to do smoothies? I also just bought a whole bunch of frozen fruit, soy milk, whey Protein Powder and a ninja bullet to start smoothies and now I’m concerned that my stomach isn’t going to handle this. Could it have been the small speckles of the kale or the sugar from the fruit? Tips? Advice? Thanks!

    I think I messed up!!

I suspect that too. It wasn’t even that sweet to me, it was like a barely there taste probably because of the kale. But the half of the banana and the mango do have a high sugar content. Thanks for chiming in!

    I think I messed up!!

Yes, now I’m worried but not sure what I can do about it now. I won’t be doing any more smoothies until the puréed stage. I guess my logic was the consistency was about the same or thinner than cream soup. Thanks for the feedback!
  14. This is a good question. I hope the feeling subsides for you. I’m only a few days post op and when I drink or consume the full liquid diet, I sometimes feel the same thing you’re describing after 3-4 swallows. I was also wondering if this is normal. It’s like a pressure around my bra line as well.

    Waiting Period

After I completed the 6 months of supervised nutrition visits along with seeing my PC doc every month, they submitted to my insurance. I was approved about 10 days after.

@Maribelle76 Glad you’re feeling better. The bowel movement will come. It happened to be today, 3 days post op. Go ahead and do the Milanta if you’d like. Like you said…getting the calories in gas been a huge task. I barely got in 350 yesterday but reached my water goal.

    July 2021 Surgery People!

I just had my VSG 3 days ago. I’m starting to feel colder like I need blankets around me. Anyone else experience this?
  20. These work wonders when you’re not up walking. They feel great too. Does anyone else use something similar to keep circulation up?

Yes!! Just got mine done on the 15th!

    Had mine yesterday!

@Pennykay feeling pretty good. The gas pains are the worst!! Without my pain meds I’m really uncomfortable though. I was given nausea meds and omeprozole tablets for home. The omeprozele tablets are supposed to be taken with food and the pain medication as needed every four hours. The nausea medication I don’t need anymore. I can take my patch off tomorrow.

    Compression Machine

They had them on me the whole time I was in the bed at the hospital. I just had my VSG surgery a few days ago. Prior to Ku surgery, I ordered my own to use at home. I have swollen legs and feet quite often so this helps
  24. Yep…just this past Thursday. After the doc came to visit me in recovery he said that I had a HH near my esophagus that they “saw” and repaired
