I’ll be praying with you! I understand the need before school. I have kids and used to teach. I’ve taken last year and this next year off to try to get healthy. Hope all goes well with you

I am so sorry! I can’t imagine getting all ready and psyched up only to get that call. Hoping it can be rescheduled soon

I don’t have any advice except to let your doctor know. I’m hoping you feel better soon

You’ve got this!! It can be hard but will be so worth it! Congrats on the 4 lbs. This is only the beginning of your new life. You will be so happy you persevered! We’re all in this together. I’m sorry you took things hard but I sure am glad you’re back on track to a healthier lifestyle

My doctor is one of the strictest I’ve heard about. I haven’t been allowed anything but Protein Shakes and Water for 2 weeks pre-op and 2 weeks post-op. It has been worth it to see my weight come off. I had surgery July 1 and have lost 15 lbs since (33 lbs total). I’m glad he’s so rigid because I haven’t had to guess at what kind of food or shakes to get. He even told me the brand names. Any sign of non compliance and I was out of the program. My 10 day follow-up was today (since 10 days was over the weekend). He told me I’m doing better and lost more than expected. I get to start on cottage cheese, eggs, and yogurt this Friday.
All of this to say I highly recommend you following EXACTLY what the doctor says. It’s not the first time for them. They know what works. Don’t sabotage yourself before you even get started!! Good luck and best wishes -

Don’t know if you could handle Premier Protein shakes but I have loved them. They come in so many different flavors including cinnamon roll, peaches and cream, strawberries and cream, chocolate, vanilla, etc. I could have any of them except the ones with oats. My pre-op was 5 of those a day and at least 8 cups of Water. They helped prevent cravings and I never got hungry. My post -op diet has been 8 c of water a day and 4- 2oz servings of the shakes a day. I haven’t had any diet struggles at all. The Premier shakes are sold at Walmart. You can look them up online to see if you think they’d work. Wishing you great luck finding something! Good luck with your pre-op and surgery as well!

You’ve got this! Good luck to everyone with an upcoming surgery. I thought the pain would be way worse than what I’ve experienced. Had mine a week ago today

I didn’t have it pre-op but I sure have post-op. I started doing the early light exercise and getting up every 30 minutes slowly and just walking the length of my house. It helped so much I actually walked a mile this morning

I did a deep clean also. It has really helped. I lost 11 lbs pre surgery but by what everyone is posting my surgeon is A LOT stricter on diet than others seem to be
Go bra-less for sure!

I took a light weight cotton lounging dress to wear home. Nothing with a waist line that might interfere with the incisions. I also took tennis shoes with socks. My doctor did not want me wearing flip flops. He wanted me in good supportive shoes. Get up and walk as soon as you can after surgery. The walking helps a lot! Good luck!

Candace76: set a timer. Every hour I either drank 1 cup Water or a Protein Shake. It helped me so much getting the liquids in pre-op. It has also helped post-op because I’ve stayed somewhat on that same schedule just stretched the cup of water over the entire hour or hour and 1/2. Scheduling is the only way I could possibly do it. I never got hungry or had issues pre-op. Now that I’ve been liquid diet for 3 weeks (tomorrow) I’m ready for something a little more but have another week to go liquid. I’m not allowed popsicles or Soups or anything other than my Protein Shakes and water. A little jealous of those with more options but I can’t argue with my weight loss so far so it’s working. 27 total pounds lost since I first started this process March 29 and 7 lbs since July 1

Losewate I’m in my mid 50s and doing great today. I think I tried to do too much too soon. I walked 2 miles my first full day home. Once I rested yesterday and just concentrated on the liquids I started feeling better. I’m not one to sit around either. I don’t have any health issues but had signs they were coming. I had surgery to try to avoid all those complications and stay healthy. I’m 7 lbs down since surgery as of this morning and feel great!

I put myself on a timer. Every hour I did a cup of Water or a Protein Shake. My pre-op was 8 c of water and 5 Premier Protein shakes a day. It has really helped with my post -op being scheduled. I’ve just learned instead of pacing out each cup of water for an hour I do 2 oz every 20 minutes or so. It has helped quite a bit with the heartburn. My 2 week post op diet is 8 c of water and 4- 2oz servings of Premier Shakes a day

My highest weight was 290. I’ve tried to lose weight over the past year. I started the process at 282 and went into surgery at 263. As of this morning I’ve lost 5 lbs. How about you? Would love to continue to compare notes. So far this morning my burning is better just backing off a little

Thanks for the help! I’m struggling to get 8 cups of Water and am only allowed 8 oz of Premier Protein shakes a day. I’ve tried every 15 minutes. It takes me an hour or more to get down a cup of water. I’m going to try to spread it out even more to see if that helps. I’m glad to find someone close to my surgery date. It sure helps to not feel alone!

My doctor is very specific for the 1st 3 months. My diet has been nothing but Protein Shakes and Water 2 weeks pre and 2 weeks post. I never thought I’d be so excited to try cottage cheese and shredded Parmesan cheese. I even get to add eggs and yogurt as well. The way he had me do everything has been great. I haven’t been hungry and I didn’t really struggle. I am just desperate to have a different texture in my mouth. After 1 month, tomorrow’s my day. I’m so ready!
