  1. Hi, Grace... I'm six weeks from surgery. Including the pre-surgery diet, I have lost 40 pounds. More importantly, I'm wearing jeans 2 sizes smaller and shirts one size smaller. I wouldn't change my decision.
Still, I should tell you that I didn't realize what a change my new body would be. If I eat one or two bites too much, I might feel bad for half an hour. If I eat three or four bites too much, I might feel bad for an hour and a half. If I eat more than that, it might come back up.
It's also hard for me to stay properly hydrated. I used to get most of my Water by drinking almost a quart at every meal. Now I'm not supposed to drink within half an hour of eating. I'm not quite used to keeping a water bottle with me and sipping constantly throughout the day.
If you need the surgery to be healthy, you should definitely do it. But you also need to appreciate how your lifw will change.

It's been 3 weeks since my bypass surgery. I was told I had to have bypass surgery due to Severe Acid Reflux. I also had a high BMI of 44, sleep Apnea, Severe Asthma, Severe Incontinence, High Blood Pressure, when dieting used several medicines and weight loss programs would loose 15 lbs at most and gain more back.

At first I said would not do it again due to throwing everything up that I drank or ate. Not been able to eat or drink much of anything. I lied though it is worth it all. I am hungry and then when I eat I get full very quickly.

I am holding on to the fact I am hoping I loose the weight that they say I will which they think 80 to 100 lbs. I am hoping it is the later of the two.

I can say positively my asthma is so much better, my Sleep Apnea is better not using machine and not snoring, my Incontinence is a ton better so far.

So yes do it, medically I say do it. Just to lose weight no.

  2. Congrats on your success!
I'm about 7 weeks from surgery. I bought a bunch of foods I thought I wood want, and I just don't enjoy them. Maybe they will still be good when my taste for them returns. My favorite thing to eat now is cottage cheese with canned pineapple. I eat it every day.
Is the GENEPRO unflavored really tasteless? I tried adding a vanilla flavored one (another brand) to my Cream of Wheat, and I couldn't stomach that either.

Congratulations keep up the good work.

I am 3 weeks post surgery, having trouble drinking Water use to love it can't stand it now.

Have not been able to drink my Protein Shakes throw them up. Everything they tell me has no taste I can taste it.

Don't eat to much during day. Always feel full. Already down 20 lbs.

You sound like you are doing great!![emoji106]

  3. I had terrible Hair loss so started maintenance early. Now I'm struggling to get back on program. I wish I'd stayed on program but was freaked out and didn't know how long the hair loss would last. It was severe and lasted 7 months. I'm older so my hair doesn't grow very fast anymore.

I am only 3 weeks out. My hair seems to be the same as it was.

Make your own schedule you want 6 small meals so put them equally apart. Force yourself to drink I am having trouble drinking. I loved Water I hate it now.

  4. I was right there with you. I kept to the liquid diet and let me tell you it was hard!!
Now I have had surgery my is Bypass Surgery and I am 6 days in. I cannot keep anything down, I burp and it is the nastiest taste there is. I have kept down watery cream of wheat only a 1/2 cup and I actually get full before eating all of it.
It is easy for them to say don't eat that etc. I only want to taste good stuff, but I know I can't I just want some eggs bit I will wait. Stay strong!!
