I had a fill 10 days ago and stuck to progressively thicker liquids for 4-5 days. Over the last two days I tried eating 'mushies' but did have some food that I probably should of avoided.
Last night I couldn't sleep due to coughing up saliva. I slept (ish) upright. Today I've had about 100ml of Protein Shake and 200ml of creamy Soup but I now feel tight and sore. I'm worried that the soup isn't going down either. I've been feeling flu-ey all morning - cold, weak and a little faint. Anyone else been through this? I'm worried that I've damaged my band.
Any suggestions?

I had my fill on Monday. My doctor just says to go slow and increase thickness of food over the course of the week. Monday evening and yesterday I just had fluids and strained Soup. Today I've had a yoghurt drink, smoothies and creamy Soups. I don't go for the diet options as the cals stay low because my portions are so small. It's ironic that I only eat the full fat, full taste foods when I'm filled, simply because I limit myself to such a small amount.
Also, drink plenty.

I've just had a baby and am about to have a fill after a defill early in the pregnancy. I can't really remember what I should be expecting to consume after having the fill. I'm guessing that the first day or two is fluids, what are good things to eat/drink? I was thinking milky drinks initially and then sloppies like yoghurt and Soup after a day or two.
Suggestions would be great.
Thanks,

I hadn't reached goal when I got pregnant. I have 70lbs to go 35lbs of which I put back on since my defill last october. Like you trace I feel very deflated. Getting my fill next monday. Then booking in for another in september.

I had my surgery with Chris De Bruyne in Belgium. He comes to the UK several times each month to do fills in London, Edinburgh, Dublin and Bristol from September.
From what I remember he charges £75 for a fill. If you call his secretary I'm sure she can give you more details...

I'm in South Wales.
I was banded in December 06. Initially lost 5 stone but found out that I was expecting 8 months in, I suffered from a great deal of sickness and had the band emptied. I've now had my little boy and am going to be filled in a weeks time. Thank goodness! The pregnancy has seen me regain 35lb. Eek! Looking forward to fill although it'll be a shock as I've been eating whatever I fancied for almost a year!!

What a lovely site. I signed your board. You're doing really well. Keep up the good work.

On my consultant's advice I had a defill 14 weeks into my pregnancy. My baby is now 7 weeks and having gained 35lbs I'm now keen to get back on track.
I've just stopped breastfeeding and plan to have a fill the week after next. How soon after giving birth did others get filled? Did you get a defill when pregnant?

I had a defill when I was about 14 weeks pregnant. Before then I was maintaining pretty well, however I had the band loosened on advice from my fill doctor.
It's now 7 weeks since the birth of my son and I put on 28lbs during pregnancy and 7lbs since having him (seriously, you grab what you can when you can in the early weeks after baby's arrival - in my case that meant mars bars!!).
So that's 35lbs in all. Eek! Not happy.

I've just been told that I'll need an op that may require a general anaesthetic (waiting to see consultant to confirm). If this is the case, will I need my band defilled?
Thanks

I haven't had any restriction for about a year as I've recently had a baby, so after putting on about 35lbs I was relieved to get a fill three weeks ago. I did the usual fluids and sloppies but have really struggled to get back onto 'normal' foods, however small the amount. I go a few days where I can eat and drink okay but then I'll have a couple more days where I struggle with Soup and produce saliva after every attempt to eat or drink. I'm not utterly fed up yet, however I do realise that I need an unfill. The problem is that I can't get an appointment with my doctor for 5 weeks. I could probably manage until then but I'd rather not have to. I've contacted another fill provider who can see me on Thursday but I have to get up to London (a 6 hour round trip)!
