Hi all- I am 64 and have been sleeved for almost 6 years. I am currently working on the 20+ lbs I have managed to put on the past 3 years……. it is not easy. I have lost 4 lbs the past 6 wks. But I know progress will be slow. Just retired and moved to Az, getting use to this new life style. I recently developed a "hole" in old c section scar and went to plastic surgeon to see if having some of my skin, etc. removed would help problem. He was no help……… wanted to do a Tummy Tuck, which insurance would not cover. But am glad to be moving forward and working on weight and health is a life long endeavor. It is hard to find a doctor that will take a patient from another state and this far out from my surgery……… anyone out there in the Tucson area?

Anyone in the Tucson/Oracle Az area? Would love to meet and share support.

I would love to find local people, since I have just relocated to Arizona and have been off track for some time. Thought of going to weight watchers again, but being a sleeved, things are different now. I just seem to get back on track and have never reached my goal, but have not given up. Hopefully we can connect with people that live close.
I am still having trouble understanding how to post on the veteran's forum………...

Regine, you need to look at the exclusions listed for YOUR specific plan.I have premera blue cross and did NOT have any WLS exclusions in my plan, and my surgery was covered. However note that my employer offered two different plans through PBC- one had the exclusion, and the other didn't, so when choosing my plan, obviously I chose the one that didn't have the exclusion.
Employers are the ones who choose what they will cover and what they won't, not just the insurance companies. So before you get discouraged you need to get the right information. Also, you can always try to get approval because of medical necessity even if you have an exclusion.. it's worth a try.
Hi I am new and going in for my appointment next Wed for evaluation for surgery..............I have Premera Blue Cross Foundation WEA............as my primary and Uniform with my husband.........Do you know if they cover it? and did you have to do the 6 month diet thing?
Thx
