Thisisgonnabegreat! got a reaction from Tracyringo in What’s your revision story? Was your revision as effective as your first surgery?
That’s amazing. I actually had the same issue but I considered it a great success because I went from 323 to 180. At one point, due to barely eating and exercising like crazy I got down to 160 but I was ill. Nonetheless, I’m guessing I’m back up around 215 now at this point postpartum and basically wanna lose another hundred pounds. I’m going to go all the way but I hear stories about people only dropping 30 pounds on their second surgery and I don’t think it’s worth it

These questions are really helpful. Thank you. Your case, it sounds like it was perfect! Congratulations! But you know what I had the same fears the first time I had surgery – and I would be the one that didn’t lose the weight and it wasn’t true. I need to lose 70 to 90 pounds at this point and my concern is not the rate of speed but whether or not it’s worth going through a life-changing surgery the results may only be a third of what I’m looking for

Thisisgonnabegreat! got a reaction from Kayla Joy in Sleeve too many gastric or gastric bypass success stories! Pictures please!
I would really love to hear some success stories of people who had a revision from the slave to the mini gastric or gastric bypass and had success. Personally, I am totally willing to go through a revision and all that comes with it but not for a 30 pound weight loss and I’m getting a lot of mixed information. What’s your success story? Would you share some pictures of your revision starting weight self and where you’re at now? I could really use some encouragement because I’m not sure if I should believe all the surgeons I’ve been talking to!

Thisisgonnabegreat! got a reaction from "Henry" in Surgeon recommendations in Tijuana for mini gastric bypass from sleeve
I had a very successful sleeve surgery five years ago. I was so happy with the results. As I approached 40 I had a surprise pregnancy! As you can imagine this changed my body quite a bit. My child was born right at the cusp of the declaration of the pandemic and I have put on a lot of weight. No matter how I eat, no matter how little I’m eating, my body and hormones seem to want to hold onto the weight. At any rate, being a middle-age woman with a one year old means I need to take Care of my health, and I am seeking to get a revision from the sleeve to a mini gastric bypass. I’ll be paying cash and intending to have my surgery in Tijuana, although if you know someone great in Cancun which is much closer let me know!

I’m really overwhelmed attempting to research doctors and hospitals in Tijuana. A surprising majority have a very high rating on Google maps and reviews. I don’t really know where else to look. So I am asking for recommendations that might narrow down my search. I am especially interested in hearing from people who have had this revision from sleeve to mini gastric.

My goal is to have the surgery within the next 6 to 8 weeks so it’s really important I find somebody good. Please help!

I had a successful sleeve surgery five years ago, then had a baby and got stuck in a pandemic. I’ve put on so much weight, but still nowhere near my original starting weight and don’t intend to get back there!

I am planning to get a revision surgery, and right now I am most seriously considering the mini gastric bypass. I contacted a couple of doctors and they tried to suggest a sleeve revision, but I can’t find any success stories of people who were re-sleeved and lost substantial quantities of weight. Which got me thinking?…

Do any of the revision surgeries produce substantial weight loss? If you have gone from sleeve to the mini gastric bypass or another procedure and have a story to share I would greatly appreciate hearing it.

Did your revision successfully eliminate your regain? Did you get lower than you did the first time and your weight loss goals? Were you able to lose all your excess weight on your second time around? Did it work as rapidly as the first one?

I was 262 at surgery so about the same ( although I'm a little taller sa bmi slightly less)
    I'm not a speedy looser !
2.5 weeks is still early enough to be holding in some of those iv fluids they pump into you in the hospital. Plenty of people In these forums actually have recorded a TEMPORARY GAIN in weight post op. Also at 2.5 weeks your stomach tissues etc may still be swollen
    Swollen tissues hang onto fluids
So effectively what you're looking is probably cancelled out (TEMPORARILY!) by the fluids you are retaining
IM SURE THIS WILL CHANGE SOON!
In the meantime I suggest/recommend you take baseline measurements NOW!
    ALSO
if you have any clothes that were snug/tight before surgery ...try them on now!!!
Hopefully they will already fit better
    Good luck ...
