    Marriage changes post op

My marriage is the same pre op and post op. My hubby has always been supportive of me and never said anything to me about my weight. He was not all in for the surgery and still doesnt care for it. But he has seen the impact physically and mentally for me. I still struggle at times and shame myself. He would never do that to me though. He is a good guy and does his best to build me up. Its my own struggles that I battle with.....I still see myself at my highest weight even tho I can see in the mirror how much my face has slimmed down and I notice the weight loss because of the way my clothes are so loose on me and the inches I am losing from my body......but to get passed the morbidly obese person I still see in the mirror is more of a challenge for me than my marriage. In time I hope I can move passed what I see in the mirror versus what is actual.

    Eggs

I was able to tolerate eggs pretty good. I just wasnt bothered to eat them that soon. I am just now 3 months post op and eat them more than I did starting out after surgery.

    Sleeve Post-Op Calorie Intake

Im 3 months post op currently and I was more or less doing what your doing. I wasnt getting enough calories intake and I became weakish. I increased my protein and fluids which I initially found hard to do but things are leveling off for me. I was told today to not eat more than a cup of food. Currently I can only get somewhere between 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup so I still have a way to go lol.

    One Week Until Surgery

My biggest hurdle was the pre op diet lol. But after week one it wasnt so bad. As everyone else has mentioned the nerves and anxiety comes naturally. Day of my surgery I was chit chatty to the point of not shutting up. I talked to anyone and everyone and as they were wheeling me in to surgery I guess they had enough because they knocked me out before they even transferred to the surgery table LOL, Best thing that happened to me because I didnt have time to think about it before I was sound asleep ha! 😛 You will do just fine best wishes to you

    7 Months Post-Op

Sorry to hear you having to go through another surgery but hopefully they will get you back on track and you recover better. Your pics look great best wishes for a speedy recovery
  6. I thought I trained myself enough before surgery but I have found sometimes I still eat quicker than I should and I assure you....it only takes once for you to learn especially if you have an adverse effect from it lol. I did and I learned real quick....take your time retrain yourself and you will do just fine

    3 Month Stall?

Yikes! I think Hop_Scotch was merely trying to explain that various factors could be contributed to a stall and sometimes knowing if a change has occurred or not could be a factor as to whether or not a stall is taking place. I think I can simply answer your question if you'd like. Common only applies to the person who is experiencing it. For myself I lost I think 22 lbs quickly before my pre op, then being on pre op I lost some more. Post surgery I lost 14 lbs in about 9 says then BOOM a stall. I was in that stall for 5 weeks. No weight loss no weight gain. I was not working out to the extent you do because I am pending a knee replacement so I have some mobility issues. After the 5 week stall I then began losing weight again without any problem but at a much slower rate which for me was disheartening as I thought I should be losing more but according to my team I am losing at an average rate of speed and amount. There are loads of threads on the dreaded stall. You could do a search for them if you prefer to read what others have posted versus having to provide your details.

    Days off work after surgery

Dr said 5-7 days but I took 2 weeks because I had the time I could burn from work. I was anticipating for any problems to arise but I didnt have a single one outside of a pesky stitch that wasnt cooperating lol

    Monthly weigh in and measurements

Yep your exactly right. I voiced my concerns on my weight loss and it not being enough but I lost 12 lbs in 1 month since my last appt. My team is happy where I am at for the amount of weight I loss and told me to stop beating myself up over it, They said the very same as you catwoman7.....Im within the average range of weight loss for 3 months post op. Thank you for the pep talk and liveaboard15 keep up the good work. I actually wrote down my last months measurements and of course I lost them so I wrote down this months measurements and hopefully I can compare them next time. I need to do it in excel like you did lol

    How Long for you?

I guess I am a lucky one then.....I had no incision pain and no problems or complications at all. That being said I "think" I am lactose intolerant now tho because if I drink milk or eat dairy I get really really sick. I had no issue with that before surgery but do now after surgery. But surgery itself no problems.

    Monthly weigh in and measurements

Looks like you have been doing well!! Thats Awesome..... As for myself I still have the mobility issue because I have no ACL in my knee and need a knee replacement done. I had a 5 week stall!!! That sucked big time and talk about being discouraged oh my!! That being said I did start losing again but only a few pounds here and there. I think on an average I may lose 2-3 lbs per week and about 10-12 lbs per month. I go for a weigh in tomorrow. I think I lost about 11 lbs since last month. Not the big lbs that alot of ppl seem to drop but Ill take what I get I guess. Its better than gaining LOL. Keep up the good work and I am sure you will hit your goal in no time!!!
  12. How long did it take you to reach Protein 60g and 64 ozs Fluids post op?? I am on day 4 post op and feel miserable trying to hit those goals. I feel bloated and over full. I pretty much feel like I could puke all day long, not from nausea issues but having too much fluids in me....ugh 😣

    Caffeine

When I was going through all the pre op stuff I was told I could never have caffeine again EVER. Now that I am 7 weeks post op I was told no more than 8oz per day and thats only at 6 months Post Op. They've also uped the protein from 60g what it was initially to 80g or more per day so Im guessing per provider things seem to fluctuate. As catwoman7 says:
  14. So alot of you are aware I have been in a full on stall for 5 weeks now..ugh.....anyway today or I should say within the last few days I have broke the stall and lost 4.6 lbs FINALLY!!! How many have noticed the inches coming off even tho no weight loss occurred? I have lost alot in my chest area, my bra band was a 46/48 circumference. I am now in a 42. I have noticed the way clothes fit looser and especially my shirts in the bust and some off my belly. I am pleased and thankful for the non scale victories I am starting to see.

    blood pressure changes

My BP before surgery was usually 144/92 and Type 2 diabetes glucose ran high in the mornings around 152 and throughout the day it stayed around 130-140. Immediately after surgery everything dropped in normal range. Right now my blood sugar is going higher in the mornings (still within a high normal range) about 116-120 and throughout the day it stays around 110-120. BP now fluctuates too, it was 124/82 today at the Drs office. I was never on BP pills or diabetes pills.
  17. I am just coming off a 5 week stall. It was very frustration to say the least. Not a single pound lost in a full 5 weeks.....thats so unreal. I hated it lol. Today I wnt to the Drs office and I was down 4.6 lbs. Ill take it!!! Hang in there

    Blah...my first stall...

Thank God I broke the stall after 5 weeks. It wasnt a big break through (4.6 lbs) but at this point I will take anything. I am soooo hoping my body has broke through and doent stall out again! It drove me bonkers and I felt like such a failure. Ive had a little talk with my inner self and hopefully I just keep on going and doing what I am doing. With any luck I will continue to lose. I think getting my fluids daily is a problem for me. when I drink to get my fluids in then I have a problem eating (too full) and vice versa. I think I need to find a happy median so I can be good on both protein and water.

    Blah...my first stall...

The weight showing on my time line was mostly pre op. Once I had the surgery I lost 14 additional lbs by day 9 post op. Then everything came to an abrupt stop. I battle a constant lose 1 lbs then gain it back. This has been going on the whole time (5 weeks now). I have been in the office 4 times over this and an incision that wouldnt heal come to find out it was a stitch that was sticking out. So that is finally about closed and the incision looks alot better but no more weight loss. They keep telling me not to worry but after 5 weeks I am definitely worried. I go back in the office to see the Dr and dietician on 6/20. I am actually dreading it. I cannot help but feel like a failure and boy ole boy do the mind games kick in. Today I feel defeated but I know I need to reset my way of thinking with this. I battle with fluid intake and protein and I have mobility issues because of my right knee. Someone above mentioned not to let your body conform to a certain calorie intake and I think that may be what happened with me. I only get about 500-700 calories a day. Unlike you, I have no real hunger and I do have restriction and can feel it. Im not hungry all the time either, I have caught myself wanting to snoop about for something to eat and I ask myself what are you doing your not even hungry. lol So the "tool" is there and working but my body is not wanting to let loose of the weight. Im going to look into starting with some chair exercises first to move myself more and hopefully if that helps and if weight loss starts again then maybe I can get enough off to be more mobile with walking. At best I have about 20-30 min window before the knee gives out (was told I need a knee replacement). Im a constant work in progress lol

    Blah...my first stall...

I have not lost any weight tomorrow will be 5 full weeks. 😭
  21. I am beyond frustrated lol. I have not lost any weight since my initial 14 lbs I lost in 9 days after surgery, I am now 5.5 weeks post op and still nothing. I go back and forth between 2 lbs. Im up 2 lbs then down 2 lbs. I quit weighing because I was getting so mad about it. Its very discouraging. I usually only eat 3-4 teaspoons in one sitting and then I feel full. I only get between 500-700 calories per day and nothing not a thing. Im due for my next weigh in on June 20th. Rather than being excited about it I am in full dread mode. I am utterly dreading it. I have had 2 other weigh ins and nothing same weight every time. **disclosure** I am not able to exercise like most on here do because I have a right knee problem and I am pending a knee replacement so I cannot go on long walks. I can barely make walking around in Walmart after 30 mins
  22. Im 5.5 weeks out. I havent experienced this as of yet. Although I do not drink coffee I have started drinking from a straw which my team is totally against. Drinking from a straw has not bothered me one bit. I have also tried various foods...there is only 1 that I felt horrible after having 2 small bites and that was pizza. I felt like crap for about 3 hours. I guarantee I will not make that mistake again lol at least not for a long while. I cant say I had any of the "symptoms" listed above but I just felt awful and it lasted hours. No diarrhea, dizziness or nausea just a general feeling of ugh I feel awful. I generally eat very little in one sitting but I may have 3-4 very small "meals".
  23. I have not had my surgery as of yet, its May 3rd but I was wondering about sleeping in an upright position post op. I had heard a few ppl say they had to sleep upright to keep the heartburn at bay. One person said she slept in an upright position for 3 months post op to cut the awful heartburn she was having. She said she never had GERD or any form of it before the surgery but afterwards she described it as liquid fire. She didnt say if she still has problems with this currently (its been over a year for her since her surgery).

    Protein HELP

Forgot to mention, I cant seem to stomach the premier protein anymore too sweet. I can tolerate Fairlife but prefer the whey protein isolate zero creamy vanilla powder. That is alot better for me as far as getting past the sweetness. I do and have bought the ratio protein yogurt....those things pack a powerful 20-25g of protein. It is thicker tho so as long as you can tolerate that it should be good. I also buy the keto protein of the same brand not as much protein but still a decent amount. Cod, Tilapia and Mahi Mahi fish are good (no strong fishy taste) and dont forget you may hate fish before surgery but after you may like it. I eat mine (after cooking) with fresh mild pico de gallo. I actually eat more fish now than I did in the past and I have put the fish on a small handful of baby spinach.

    Protein HELP

I dont think my plan is that far out with beef and honestly at 3 weeks out I have tried ground beef and did not have any trouble with it. Now that being said it was probably a teaspoon and a half only. I dont want to rock the boat lol
