  1. Hi guys,

I live in Cadillac, MI. I am also a Grand Traverse Surgery patient. I had my surgery with Dr. Featherstone on 7-10-08. I have had one fill since surgery and go 9-23 for my second. I felt some restriction after for the first 2 weeks after my first fill, but now feel none. Dr. Featherstone seems to be very cautious with his fills. I am hoping I can notice some difference after the second one. I am trying hard to be patient, but it's so difficult. I always feel better after reading these posts knowing I'm not the only one feeling disappointed or impatient at times.

I also have thought about going to the monthly support meetings, I know I should go, just make the time and go...I'm sure it would be helpful. Best of luck to all of you!

  2. Hi,

I also have the same pain. You can feel a small lump to the right of my incision, which is where the pain radiates from when I bend or twist. It feels like a little beebe in there. I went today for my 2 week post-op visit and my Dr. said the same thing...it's normal, it's just scar tissue, nothing to worry about. That made me feel better because I had myself convinced I had a hernia. One thing I found that helps with the pain is to put a bunch of medical tape on it criss-crossed. It just helps to hold it in, and when it's held in, it feels much better.

  3. I know what you mean.....I have been on a liquid diet since last wednesday and I have only lost 3lbs. Anyway, clear liquids means broth, tea, Jello, but no red. Try sugar free popcicles too. Yeah, it's okay to have other colors.....at least all the clear liquids diets I have been on allowed different colors other than red. My surgery date is July 16th. I have to go on clear liquids the day before too.:)

Thanks so much Charlene for the quick reply. That helps me a lot. I never thought about having tea, thats a good idea. Best of luck to you on the 16th!

  4. Hi guys,

My surgery date is July 10. I have been on the pre-surg diet for 10 days now which sounds like its a little different from most of the others I read on here. If I make my Protein Shakes with Water, I can also choose a lean meat to eat 3 times a day, which is nice. I haven't lost as much weight as I thought I would though, only about 8 lbs. Anyway my question is this, on the day before surgery (Wednesday) I'm supposed to have Clear Liquids only with no red food coloring. Does that mean I can have other colors of Jello? What did you guys eat during the clear liquids phase? Thanks! :)
