    Saggy Skin after banding

I was curious...I am 28 yrs 5'5 and 215 old and have been athletic my whole life. I am over weight by about 80 pounds but still have really good muscle definition. I have had one child via c-section with minimal stretch marks...I am worried about possible saggy skin...My legs are really tight and muscular, I am not a flabby person, but I am curious if anyone who works out with cardio and weights 4-5 days a week like me has been banded and is tone and muscular with no saggy skin. My stomach is what I really worry about...I dont have rolls standing just sitting... Any advise?
  2. Hey everyone, I have been researching lap banding like crazy and I am excited and scared! I know this is a life style change, and I am MORE than willing to do that, I just have this fear that I am only going to be able to eat rabbit bites of everything, and not enjoy eating with my family. I don't want or expect to eat like I do now, but I do want to enjoy some of my favorite food every once in a while. Can anyone tell me what its like to eat after the surgery, like when you hit your goal weight? I plan on being very strict to get to my goal weight, but I hope that one day I can enjoy certain foods . I guess I just don't know what to expect, and am scared of the unknown. Please help educate me! Thanks:crying:

    I'm Scared! Need help....

You guys have given me wonderful information! That eases my mind, about eating and eating what I want just slower and less of it. The only problem I for see is I eat REALLY fast now (probably the reason I eat so much)....I will have to work on eating slow. My hubby and I share meals now, so it will mean that I eat less than I do now. Thanks again for everything!

    Eating for weight training/Cardio

Thanks for the info!! I just have this idea that I am not going to be able to eat anything but rabbit food, and little pieces.
  5. Hello, I am researching getting banded and I have started the process for the appropval...I have a few questions about expectations. I work out avidly 4-5 times a week, and I was curious what I can expect in weight loss and how quickly when I get banded? I have about 85-90 pounds to lose, and I am currently at 37% BMI and have other health conditions. What kind of success did you have, and how long has it taken you? I would love any feedback. thanks Shauna:thumbup:
  6. Hello Everyone, I have been reading through this forum for 2 hours....and I have some questions about the lab band. I am currently 85 pounds overweight, and my BMI is at 37%. I am going to the seminar tonight to start the process to see if I qualify. I have PCOS and that is why I gained this weight. I have never had a weight problem growing up, just in the last 6 years this weight has slowly crept on. I have always been athletic and I know once I lose the weight I will be able to keep it off, but because of my hormone imbalance its almost impossible for me to lose the weight. I am wondering if anyone here has had this done who was in a similar position as me? I am also concerned that I may not be overweight enough for the surgery and I know this is my last option. I need some advise as to what this procedure entails and what happens if you have it removed after you've lost your weight. I would appreciate any feedback, good or bad! Thanks Shauna
  7. My BMI is 37%, but I fall under the criteria of being at least 35% with other complications. I had a rare thing happen after my daughter was born...I went into post partum Congestive Heart Failure because of the excessive water retention. I also am considered to have high blood pressure but am not on meds. I can't think of anything else I can do to lose this weight. I am 5'4 and 215, I have about 85 pounds that I need to lose, and I have done nothing but gain weight because of PCOS, but didn't know why until 2 years ago. I really just dont know what else to do....any thought are welcomed!
