  1. Hey everyone. So I had surgery yesterday and I’m home tonight. I’m having a problem with laying down, I end up having so much gas discomfort and nausea that I have to sit up to burp frequently. Anyone else having this issue? It’s really uncomfortable and I’m concerned. I hate nausea. I also took zofran a few hours ago, I just took Prevacid that they prescribed.

I’m tomorrow as well. I just got the call to be there at 9 am!! Like you my boys are going all out for food and it’s so tempting-especially when the nurse was surprised I’m on a liquid diet and said I could eat anything up until 11. Talk about temptation. I won’t do it though! Good luck tomorrow!!

Oh you are lucky! I have had to be on just Clears today (before I didn't do liquids just had to do low cal). I feel so weak and shaky. Guess its good I'm going in practically the middle of the night!

  3. I had my EKG and my surgical clearance today from my pcp. I also started my pre op diet today. My surgeon doesn’t require liquids, just low cal low carb 1000-1100 calories a day. I’m a floor nurse and some days I’m absolutely running so they told me I could eat a little more on those days. I only have to do liquids 24 hours before. 2 weeks from today I will already be out of surgery! 🤗. It’s a little odd because the unit I will be on is the one I worked on for 6 years. At least I get to pick my nurses since I know them all 😂

  4. I found out yesterday that I’m scheduled for May 19! I felt a wave of excitement and terror haha. My pre op appt is this Tuesday the 4th. I’m still not sure when I’m going to be able to get my lab work done, my kids had to go back to distance learning after they each had a teacher test positive for covid. Their dad is also out of town for work until June 25. When it rains it pours!

I haven't, but they haven't told me anything about what I can and cannot do around surgery. I haven't had sex in several years, so not an issue for me.

I understand why, though. I worked on a bariatric surgery floor for 6 years (and still float there sometimes) and I have seen at least one instance of someone coming in on surgery day and having to have it cancelled because of a positive pregnancy test 😩

  6. I got divorced at 30, and hadn’t been single since I was a teenager. (Now 30 with 2 small children) It was a rude awakening to see how disingenuous people are. The difficulty with online dating is, that if you don’t know any friends or family, there’s no accountability. People seem to feel like they can behave as badly as they want and nobody will ever find out. There is also the issue with people getting addicted and craving attention, not wanting to get out of the game in fear of missing out on something better. I hate online dating! I would literally try speed dating or anything else 😣. I got a puppy this year and that’s a relatively decent replacement, with only the obvious element missing 😹

  7. It’s so hard because if you meet someone pre-op who adores you the way you are (whether it’s just their preference or they have a bbw fetish) things are bound to change post op, not only with your relationship dynamics but with you personally. I broke up with my last bf a year ago and I really want to focus on getting in a good place post op where I feel ready. It sucks though, when it’s natural I think to crave affection.

  8. Hi there! I am in Sacramento as well, but I work for Sutter and have Sutter insurance. My BMI was 39, so I had tests to see if I had co-morbidities. I had a sleep study to see if I have apnea. I was almost certain I did because I sleep so horribly, wake up frequently, and am tired a lot! (I’m a nurse and single mom though.... that make sense). Ultimately before my next appt I realized I did not have co-morbidities so essentially I had to gain 6 lbs to qualify. I was 0.6 over what I needed to be at that appt. it made it so much easier for me to qualify. It’s important to keep track of that until you’re qualified. After I talked to the nutritionist my doc said he wouldn’t note it if I lost weight since I had already qualified.
