try drinking much much smaller sips. Like one quarter of what you are used to sipping. If that pain continues another day or so I would call doc, but I am 6 months out and still have pain if I take gulps at all. It's sip sip sip all the time.

Def go see your doctor but I was a MESS for two weeks post surgery. I was so dizzy and weak and i was still hungry and just all around miserable. One thing that helped me was get some broth that has some fat it in. I am veg so my sister made seafood broth with coconut milk, but chicken or beef broth would likely work. I immediately started feeling more like myself. After about 3 weeks I was much improved. I'm sorry you are feeling so rotten. It's a big shock to the system.

I have trouble sometimes too. But even if I maybe eat too fast I really try to immediately stop at the first hint of fullness. Otherwise, we all know what happens. I find it also helps if before I start eating something I say to myself "I'm only goint to eat half of this and wrap up the rest." somehow that helps me slow down a bit.

I’m headed back into the office for the first time in 18 months and I am 60 pounds lighter. Not sure why I am so nervous but I guess I’m not sure what to say about my weight loss. No one at the office knows I had WLS. And you can’t really tell over zoom. Thoughts?

I am right there with you. I have no problem with walking but I have been cleared to use elliptical at gym and after 15 minutes I’m done. And don’t get me started about climbing stairs. I see a few more naps in my future.

I had surgery on 8/31 and start work again on Monday. I really didn’t think I would need 4 weeks but I have to say starting at week 2 I have low energy and need to nap a bit. I am hopeful now that my diet is more varied and I can get Protein from a variety of sources that I will perk up. But as far as pain and recovery I think you can go back in a week.

I was STARVING the week following surgery. Then poof it went away. Once I thought of it as phantom hunger I was able to feel better (as in your brain hasn’t registered that most of your stomach is gone). Good luck.

has anyone here avoided weighing themselves at home and just rely on doctor's scale? I have found in my pre-op eating plan that not having a working scale was a great benefit - as i didn't feel there was any way to "game" the system. Would love to hear some other thoughts.

Assuming all goes right with insurance, I am 8/30....excited and a teeny bit nervous.

Right after the surgery i was hungry all the time. It took a while for the hormones to calm down. I think And now, even though I get hungry, I don't want to eat everything in site.
