  1. Hi, I have not heard of that doctor but I have heard of https://blossombariatrics.com/ It’s in Las Vegas and for cash patients I believe it’s under $7k. I did not go there as I have insurance that paid, but thought this might be one you can check out that’s more affordable and within the states.

    Was this a mistake?

What about trying a coffee flavored protein shake over ice? The Shamrock Rockin’ Protein Builder are really good and come in 5 flavors, one being Latte.

    July Surgeries??

Mine was on 7/6 too! I’m doing pretty well. No nausea or vomiting so I guess I’m pretty lucky. Just now starting to get all my protein and fluids in. How are you doing? Hopefully we’ll!

    July 2021 Surgery People!

How are you doing? I had surgery on the 6th as well. I hope everything is going well for you!
  5. Hi there, yes I had the same exact thing. It was just gas and the more I walked and moved around the better I started feeling. I’m 5 days post-op and no longer have the pain and pressure in my abdomen. I hope it resolves quickly for you!
  6. Hi there, I had the same thing. I had surgery 7/6 and today the pain in my shoulders and neck are almost gone. I walked around a lot and slept at an angle and it seemed to help. I’ve been taking two fast acting Tylenol every 6 hours and that seemed to help as well. Hoping it gets better for you soon!

    Just So Proud

Congratulations! That’s a lot of weight to lose. You should be proud! 😊
  8. Hi everyone! I’m am on day 6 of my pre-op diet and I have lost 10.5lbs. My daily “meals” are 2 premier protein shakes, 3oz of chicken or fish, 1 cup steamed veggies or 2 cups of raw veggies, 64 oz of water and 1 cup chick or beef broth. It seems like an excessive amount of weight I have lost in a matter of 6 days. Is this normal? My pre-op diet weight was 264.5lbs and today I weigh exactly 254.0lbs. Just worried I’m losing too much weight too quickly. I still have 8 days to go until surgery. Any one have similar weight loss on pre-op? Thank you in advance :)

    July 2021 Surgery People!

I took my own shampoo, conditioner and body wash but didn’t need it. There wasn’t any time to take a shower before I was released. A change of clothes, my tooth brush and hair ties was all I needed. One think I wish I brought were my headphones. The beeping and people you hear all night can keep you up. Wish I wouldn’t have forgot mine. Hope this helps!
  10. Yay! That’s exciting! It will fly by. Just take it easy until then. 😊

    July 2021 Surgery People!

Had my surgery yesterday and so far so good. Was pretty drugged up yesterday…wasn’t prepared to be given so many meds after surgery but think they helped. Wishing the all the July peeps a smooth and easy surgery! Best of luck 😊

    July 2021 Surgery People!

It will get better, I promise! I’m on day 14 (my last day!) and today is liquids only. I felt like giving up on day 9…I wanted a burrito so bad but pushed through it. Days 10-14 have been much easier! Drink lots of water and you will get through :)

Pants Size and Other Bariatric Sites

That’s a good question! I’m guessing it’s probably different for everyone. I’m down 15lbs due to my pre-op diet (last day - YAY!) and see no difference in my waist size or the fit of my clothes. I’m current 249.5lbs and if I recall the last time I lost weight and had to buy new jeans it was around the 230lbs mark for me.

Nutritionist was NO help at all

Oh that’s a bummer she wouldn’t help you! You should probably talk to your surgeon and ask if they can have another nutritionist they could recommend. Maybe try thicker soups as a substitution to water? That way you get liquid and food at the same time? Wishing you the best!
  16. I’m sorry to hear you are having problems…I have some similar. We’ll get through this! Good luck to you 😊
  17. Like a lot of you said, week 2 the weight has slowed down. I’m down a total of 12.5lbs in 10 days. Day 9 and 10 so far have been the hardest. I’ve kept to my plan 100% and yesterday and today I’ve had a massive headache, have been shaky and my tummy is painful. Been drinking tons of water. Hoping the next 4 days fly by cause this sucks! 😂

    July 2021 Surgery People!

Hi! I’m currently on day 9 of the pre-op diet and doing well. I get hungry mid-day but have a cup of soup broth and it holds me over until I can eat my small evening meal. Done with all my pre-op clearances. Hospital just called to confirm my date and time for surgery. Only 6 more days to go! Yeehaw 🤠! Hoping everyone gets through their pre-op diets and surgery without any issues!
  19. Here are pictures of my post-op book that details water, protein, vitamins, etc. Hope this helps!
  20. My tipping point was learning I was pre-diabetic and my BMI over 40. Also not wanting to go clothes shopping with my sister or friends because I couldn’t buy anything at the stores they shopped at. So glad I finally made the decision to do something 😊

    July Surgeries??

Hi July peeps! My surgery is July 6th and I am on day 2 of the pre-op diet. Luckily I really like the Premier Protein drinks so I am not yet losing my mind lol. My doctor had me stop taking vitamin D and any other OTC vitamins I was taking on Monday. Oh and LeenBXL my doctor told me I would be in the hospital for one night as long as there are no complications.
  22. You look amazing! Keep it up 👍🏻

    July 2021 Surgery People!

My date is July 6th! Thought it was June 21st but learned that’s my pre-op appointment date. I’m so ready to get this done :)

    June Surgeries

June surgery here too! Just got my insurance approval and I’m scheduled for June 21st! So excited! Bring it on 😊
  25. My first surgeon visit was 12/2020 followed by my first PC supervised weight loss visit 12/2020. Endoscopy was 1/2021 along with blood work. Had psych evaluation and nutritionist appt in 3/2021. Last supervised visit was 5/20/2021. Insurance was submitted on 5/20/2021 and received the same day. My tentative surgery day is end of June/early July. So about 7-7 1/2months total. Did they say how far they are booked out? My surgeons office said about a month.
