    Post your NSVs

*finding old clothes that fit well now *driving with my dog in my lap in any position now that she has all the room in the world between my steering wheel and my belly *looking hot at a Christmas party. *trying on things at the mall and not crying...things are actually starting to fit...wow *..and the strangest. Complete strangers who are co-workers coming up and talking to me and complementing me. Congrats to everyone I am so glad everyone is doing so well! Much love!
  3. Woot! That is great! Congrats!
  4. Since I was banded outside the US I have to find doctors in the US that will do the fill care. My first fill was horrible. The doctor was not very pleasant and sort of pompous. And him trying to find the port hurt so bad I was almost in tears. So I was REALLY reluctant to even bother with ever seeing a fill doc again. But none the less I did go in for my second fill yesterday. Totally different. This one was nice, answered all my questions nicely, I had discomfort around the port but nothing like last time. Just an all around good experience. So if anyone in CA is looking for a good Doc I think I found one...WOOOT!
  5. I hope everyone has survived the holiday and black friday with a lot of love and success! This was the second year in my history that I lost weight at a Thanksgiving weekend. The first time I had had my wisdom teeth pulled the day before so all I could consume was a can of ensure. And This year I had my lovely tool "Lappy" the lap band keeping me in check. It was kind of fun watching everyone else pass out in "food comas" while I still went on as per normal. After weighing in today I got a little excited because I am 4.5 pounds away from changing BMI categories! For most of my 20's I have been ticketed as OBESE and for the first time in years I will not be Obese but instead overweight. I am not sure why I am so thrilled about this or why I consider it a big deal. ???? Because then it is just another chapter to the "normal/healthy" range. But I am still stoked!

    5K anyone?

I am in! I am in week 2 of Couch to 5K and it just so happens at the 9 week mark there is a 5K out here. I hope I will be able to do it all! Congrats to all the success here!

    3mos - Am I eating too much

Yeah I think I am in the same boat. I will be calling around for another fill today. Some things it is tiny amounts and others I cannot get enough of it. ????

    I'm Cold. . .

I just went o IL for a wedding a little while ago. And being a California they were making fun of me the whole time for being an ice block. I think I did loose a lot of insulation.
  9. Hello!

I hope you are doing well and hear about your success soon!

  10. Becky and Sandy, It looks to me like we have a great opportunity for a local support group here. We all appear to have about 40-60 pounds left to loose and I know I would love a local buddy to cheer on and have a support system with. Let me know if you all are interested!
  11. I think this is the best support network. I love hearing all the successes and sorrows. Most of the things that I have had concerns with are brought up here. I hope everyone is doing great!
  12. I wasn't banded here so I didn't know that we did meetings here in Chico. When and where are they? I agree if we had a few bandsters it would be better for us. I fell like I am the only one in a hundred miles like me up here  Hope we can all get together!
  13. I had the same thing happen. Big wedding this weekend so there was non stop things to be trying and eating and drinking. Now that I am back home things are almost back to normal. I was jet lagged but got back on the tred mill anyway. (not that I didn't groan the whole time) :grouphug: Just believe in yourself and what you believed when decided to get the band. You will do great!
  14. I told everyone. But not until afterward. The time building up to it I didn't want to hear all the crap from everyone. And after it was done everyone (minus one witch at work) has been awesome about it. A few people have even asked about it for themselves. And as for the witch at work...she is one that I simply don't talk to her about it. So for me like the others it has been really positive.

    Let's Get This Party Started!

WOW I took a week or so off from here... EVERYONE is doing AMAZING! Congrats to all of the "loosers" on here. Soon2be. You have much more on me. I just wake up in the mornings and either walk on the tred or ride my bike into work. I am fairly consistantly loosing so I am not going to worry about a next fill until I platue which is bound to happen. Again, I am so happy for everyone!

    Anyone had a PB yet?

Good Luck PJ! My doctor told me I could only get 4cc total in my band...though I know it is a 10cc band. ??? I am a little confused about that. I haven't PB'ed yet. I am still getting to know the "full" feeling and seem to be doing ok with it. From what I have been reading you will KNOW it when you PB and there is no mistaking it. To date I only have 2 cc so I am not sure I have the right amount of restriction yet. I have a dumb question. IF a PB is when you throw up stuff above the stomach...what happens when you get something like the stomach flu or food poisoning? Has anyone experienced this? Will it hurt our bands?:rolleyes2:
  17. What did you think of Corvala? Was your port out of place too? (although after talking to a few on here it sounds like it is pretty common to have a port off to the side a little)

I thought he was alright...Not fantastic, but ok. How is your band and journey coming?

    Yoga after band?

Does anyone here do yoga? I am wondering if there is a problem with the port moving or dislodging during things like forward or back bends? Anyone?

    First Trip with Fill

Last time I was on a plane it was not all that fantastic being as I had just had the band put in. However, this trip I just had my first fill. I was disappointed to find out that my port is apparently on my side. He went on to say that it is fairly common for my Doc, Dr. Corvala to do that. :frown: I am fairly pissed about this because I distinctly remember the doctor telling my port was directly under my big incision, when it reality it is about 4 inches to my left and 1 inch above it. In a way I feel lied to. :tt1: The fill itself hurt like the dickons. :confused_smile:Not the needle or injection part. What hurt was him pushing and pressing on me to find whatever it was he was looking for. I relaxed a little through the pain and the ordeal when he started chatting casually with my friend because I knew he was concentrating less and therefore, things were a go. He put 2 cc in and said I was lucky because normally he has to stick people more than once and that I was once stuck one time is a good thing. :cursing: Being that I had my band surgery in mexico I am feeling as though I am the ugly duckling that no one wants. :frown:The doctor down there doesn't really go out of his way to make sure I am ok and the doctors here don't really want ownership of me but are willing to take the check and do the fill. :cry_smile:I hope to God nothing goes wrong. It would be nice if American doctors just took care of people in general and not their own patients. Do I regret the band? Not really I am down almost 30 pounds and feel fine. :thumbup:I have yet to vomit and have had success so far. The reason for me was I simply ate too much in my life. I always have. Having a foreign object like this in me has blasted the fear of God into me to do the right thing. And on this trip because of the band I LOST weight instead of gained weight. :tt2: I found myself doing the right thing and it was a great change of mindset. And believe me when all you have to do is eat pastries, drink with coworkers, drink soda, eat a lot yummy food and sit in a classroom for 5 days people usually gain. (I work at a food company so we are constantly tasting our products) So I am happy to see what was on the scale this morning for my weigh in.

    Yoga after band?

I have done a few videos...The only problem with them is they get repetitive. It takes a lot of good discipline to sit in front of the tv and do the class. I actually when I think it is time and I am ready would like to go back to hot yoga classes. Only things is I need to be super sure I get all my water in and to just take it easy.
