    Walking

I appreciate your input very much. I like your idea of walking on an incline. I was told that it makes a difference. I did pick up this months Prevention Magazine. It had a walking program included. I figured that would help me to set some goals. Thank you!

    Banded & The Single Life

You make a good point. I guess it would be a matter of need to know only. And on a first date it's not necessary, second or third either. I'm such an open book though. But this I feel is more personal. Besides if he's really interested in me then he won't care about the band.
  3. Hey chica linda! How are you? Guess what?! I go in for my fill today...haven't been since OCTOBER of last year. Gad, no wonder I haven't been dropping.

  4. Hi Mercedes! Thanks for the friend request. Are you in Texas?

Slow Users-Banded a year or more

Oh gad! I'm super slow compared to many of you. lol I've only lost 30lbs since 11/14/07. But I'm not letting that get me down. I'm back and in effect!!
  6. So then how should one feel? I go for another fill on Tuesday. Right now I can eat way over 1 cup of food per meal. I don't each much if at all bread, rice, Pasta or tortilla's because I do get that stuck feeling. The only Protein I've struggled with is chicken breast because it may just be to dry? Outside of that I can eat plentiful as long as I take small bites and chew well. And I must admit that I'm an emotional eater. So I think that really throws a wrench in my WL efforts. But I don't want that to keep me down. I'm taking baby steps to get the weight off. I just want to do it the best way possible. HELP!

    Yoga - hallelujah :)

I've never tried yoga. And I'm actually a bit intimidated by the thought of taking a class. I hear and have read an enormous amount of good things about it. But it seems like you have to have a lot of arm, tummy and leg strength. All of which I do not have much of. How hard is it to get started? Thanks for any feedback!
  8. GOOD FOR YOU!! BTW have you seen the sneakers put out by Sketchers called "Shape Ups"? They are supposed to help firm up thighs and butt!!! OH YEA!!! lol And excellent for walking, can't beat that. ;o) Have a great weekend.

    Best time to work out?

Thank you all for your input. The bit about it being on an empty stomach seems to make sense though. I think otherwise one might start feeling ill.

    Best time to work out?

When's the best time to work out? I've heard in the morning on an empty stomach. But then others say it really doesn't matter, JUST DO IT! lol :scared2: :rolleyes2: I may have to agree with the ladder as I'm not a morning person. teehee :scared2:
  11. Hey Su! It was such a pleasure speaking to you yesterday. Guess what?! I called LBS for a fill and I go on Tuesday. lol Thanks again for all your input. Can't wait to meet you gals in person. Espero que estes de lo mejor. Y llamame cuando gustes okay. Saludos!

Greek Yogurt - Gimme the scoop

I'm going to have to look for this one, thanks! :rolleyes2:

Greek Yogurt - Gimme the scoop

I love Greek yogurt! I actually make a sauce with it and dip my chicken breast in it. I find that chicken breast can be a bit dry so it makes it so much easier for me to eat. And it tastes good too, not to mention good for you. I add lemon juice, a little garlic and a little olive oil and pepper, cilantro sometimes and/or even chopped cucumber. It has the consistency of sour cream or slightly thicker. But has little to NO taste so it easily takes on whatever flavors you add to it. I can't say I've had it in place of regular yogurt though. I imagine with some Splenda and cut up fruit like bananas and strawberries it might be pretty good.

    No support from husband

My SO was the exact same way. All I can say is be prepared. Be prepared for how he may get after you start to lose weight. And also having your fridge stocked and ready with the sorts of good foods you know you should be eating. Also stay close to your mom and sis, and do stay in touch with other bandsters too. I personally thought that I was strong enough to do this on my own. BIG MISTAKE! Although my success hasn't been a huge one it's something. I love my band! And I wouldn't take any of it back. I wish you much luck in your journey. If this is what you want, and it will make you healthy too then GO FOR IT!
  15. Thanks for the comment! And 65lbs. down that's great work, good for you! I need to get myself into the gym. I think that would make such a huge difference to my WL.

  16. P.s. Happy belated b-day friend! ;o)

Did you tell others about surgery?

I originally told my fam, best friends and closest co-workers. So in reality I've told most ppl in my circle. But I'm very okay with that. Even though my WL success hasn't been it's best I don't feel bad for having told. I knew going in the risks, side effects and success rate of the band. I certainly do not seek anyone's approval but rather their support. And thankfully everyone has been very supportive. Personally, I don't see a point telling ppl I don't know very well. It's still very personal enough to me not to share it with just anyone. I mean, I wouldn't share with them I"m cramping cause I'm on my monthly, or that Mexican food I had for lunch gave me the runs. ahahaha Sorry for that, but I'm just sayin'....I LOVE MY BAND! And I wouldn't change a thing!
  18. What's the 411 Tracy girl? How's your week been so far?

  19. Passing through your space...hope you have a great week!

  20. Hey Queen! So how did your fill go? Down 25lbs I see! GOOD FOR YOU!

  21. Hey girl, checking in on ya. Any updates?

  22. Hey suki-suki, did you make it to the meet and greet?

  23. Passing through! Hit me up PM when you can. Would love to meet up with ya some time. Have a great week!

  24. Frankly, I don't like the taste of it much if at all. I only tolerate it because it's healthier than regular sugar. lol However, I found another sugar substitute called "Cactus Honey Powder". And it leaves no after taste like that of Splenda. Here's an article I found on-line about it: Who Says Cactus Honey Powder is Honey! But I'm going to do a little more digging on it....just in case it turns out it's not actually healthy for you. Because not all things natural are ya know. Have any of you tried it, or know about it? And/or have you tried anything else besides Splenda that you like better and why? THANKS for any feedback!! Sandra

I got a beef with SPLENDA!

That's great for you or anyone who has decided to live a sugar-free lifestyle. But it's not a realistic lifestyle for me. I'll suck it up and use Splenda if that's all I can get! lol :scared2:
