Has this been something you’ve had since surgery or did it develop suddenly? If it’s sudden, it may be food related or possibly a structure. Just because your plan says you can tolerate something, does not mean your stomach will be ok with it. I am perfectly fine with any types of salad/lettuce but can’t eat an egg to save my life. I’m concerned about the Water component of this though. Dehydration can easily make you end up in the hospital. How much do you think you’re drinking per day?

Suddenly (yesterday) , I was able to eat Spinach before no problem or even my morning smoothies with no issues. Since yesterday this discomfort has happened. When I drink my smoothies I usually poor it in a cup and takes sips but since yesterday anything that enters my mouth leaves a discomfort.

I’m 2 months. They said I can eat salads I’m allowed and it’s with spinach and it’s with anything that I’m eating as of yesterday I’m feeling that discomfort.

2 1/2 what exactly? Weeks? Months? Either way you shouldn't be eating salad. Both my nutritionist AND my surgeon said digesting lettuce isn't easy and to wait at LEAST 3 months before eating lettuce and to add something like butter lettuce first which more easily digestible then say... iceburg or romaine. As to the pain... maybe it's air getting in that's causing the discomfort. Air can get in if you're eating too fast or drinking too fast. Either way, definitely get your surgeons input! Hope you can figure out what's causing it and it gets better!

  3. So I’m 2 1/2 post op and as of yesterday 6/15/21 , anything that I eat or drink is causing a discomfort. If I try drinking Water , there’s a discomfort then pain, not to mention food even a salad causes the same discomfort then pain. Anyone else experienced this? And could give an insight to what this might mean? I texted my doctor and waiting for a response but still wondering what this could be.

  4. I’m on my second week of purée and my third week post op. Has anyone find that they are able to eat a little more than 2oz? I can maybe manage 2-3 sometimes 3-4 but no more. Has anyone has the experience? Also maybe cause I’m not eat as much Protein that probably allows for this ? Just curious.

Yup! I’n the same damn boat . On 3 weeks haven’t gained but haven’t lost a single lb and it’s driving me crazy! All I’m eating is tuna and salmon as well! I heard it’s normal for a stall hope it ends soon!

Well I went down two pounds but it’s still a slow progress. Today I had my type of favorite chicken , I didn’t purée it . I just cut it up really small and chewed it a lot. Not eating food is a bummer but the reward will be great

oh I said all that because its more than week one! and two so I am hoping I can have that on week two. I think I read on my post op paperwork week 3 its allowed :( this is hard liquid diet. i have to keep thinking of the positive that is this whole process.

Yea I’ve been holding onto ice pops and Bai drinks and Protein Drinks during that first couple days. I’m going to be on purée for about two more weeks. I’m not sure if that’s longer or shorter than average but some days it feels like torture.

I’m 3 weeks post sleeve. After moving to purée stage I was feeling hungry more often. Yes get the Protein in first. My directions are 1 scoop of Protein Powder must have 20 gms of Protein and below 12 gms of sugar. I mix the protein powder with almond milk. I got a jug of Protein Powder that tastes terrible so I got some dry Peanut Butter powder from Amazon for more protein. I mix only 4 ozs almond milk, protein powder 1 scoop, 2 Tbsp of dry peanut powder plus one Tbsp sugar free Greek vanilla yogurt. Tastes like a Peanut Butter milkshake which if you like peanut butter tastes pretty good. Somewhere I read the difference between head hunger and true hunger. I find that useful. Make sure you are drinking enough Water because dehydration can be confused for hunger. My diabetes immediately went away so the surgery was well, well worth it in my book. Good luck!!

    Thanks 🙏🏾

  8. Today I’m 3 weeks post op and I’m also on my second week of purée foods. So far I’ve lost 20lbs pounds, however on 4/6, I weighed myself and the scale indicated I gained a pound (yikes ), yesterday 4/7, it remained at the 1 pound gain and this morning 4/8 it still remained at the one pound gain, however I peed and stripped myself naked and it went down some ounces for a pound difference. I haven’t ate anything out the norm of tuna or salmon with pumpkin or avocado puréed. Anyone experienced this? Or have advice?

I’m only 1 1/2 weeks out and on full liquid, but I’ve been starving since the beginning! I sometimes think he didn’t cut much stomach out as I can hold more than I’m supposed to. DREAMING of the puréed stage to get some eggs. I don’t know how I will lose a lot if always hungry. If I could have done this before, I wouldn’t need the surgery! I feel your pain!

    Yes it’s so hard

I hv tried the Protein Drink &added fruit & ice to Make a shake. I had a slice of cinnamon bread w a teaspoon of Peanut Butter & 1slice of Romain lettuce w a teaspoon of mayo & a flour of low salt turkey (i took out 2pieces of lettuces thinking i was gonna eat both, but I couldn't so i saved that for later. All of this wasn't in 1 seating... 😆 plus my exercise. O only lost 3lbs in 1 month. I'm doing something wrong of i can't lose more than that? Other days I'll eat oatmeal in the a.m., fish & lettuce & sugar free ice pops & chicken with a salad... no tomatoes. But I'll b starving after an hr of eating. I measure everything

    What am I doing wrong?!

Trying cutting your carbs , no bread and adding healthy starch like pumpkin, broccoli, Brussel spout, spinach.

Today I upped my Protein . I had half of Premier Protein with some Greek yogurt and made a shake and I was pretty full off that and then I had some salmon with avocado. I think the shake helped to cut down some of the hungry. I’m new to this and figuring it out as well. Have you tried that ?
