Hi Lizzy - if you like we can stay in touch. I just had my surgery on 3/31 so about 10 days further along. I check into this site daily as I have found the people here are amazing and so willing to share which helps so much. Here anytime for you!
  2. Not sure what you are doing when working out but don't set the bar too high. Try to start walking each day. Start with a 10-15 minute walk then the next day match it and the day after maybe add 5 more minutes to the walk. I started this way and can now walk 20-30+ minutes at a time without being too winded. Let yourself build into it. Try walking listening to music or a good audio book. If you have the room in your home and don't want to walk outside yet, consider the purchase of a treadmill. You can watch TV and walk:0 Just a few thoughts and whatever you do - don't get down on yourself.

    Hungry, stalled, and venting.

Hi Rosie, Was wondering how you are doing. Sorry to hear you are having tough time. I had a little less weight loss than I had the week before only having lost 5lbs this last week. Hang in there - I have had similar thoughts.
  4. I sure hope you can work it out. Deep breaths I am finding are very helpful as is walking on the treadmill listening to music. Will be thinkin of you and sending good thoughts your way!
  5. Hello All, I would consider myself like anyone else when it comes to Anxiety and stress meaning various situations can spike anyone's anxiety or stress levels. For some reason since my surgery about 3-4 days after I started feeling anxiety at an entirely different level and can not put my finger on this as I am not someone that experience daily anxiety before. It is not happening all day but in varied times for what almost feels like no reason not necessarily being set off by anything at all. Is this something anyone else went through? If anyone is willing to share I would appreciate it.
  6. Thanks for sharing. I sure hope your anxiety calms down for you too!
  7. I had a harder trouble with cold or hot in the beginning but I have been better the past few days and I am 11 days post-op now. I hope that corrects for you quickly. Thank you also for sharing about your anxiety, I appreciate it!
  8. I am having my Sleeve surgery tomorrow and wanted to know what the length of your hospital stay was following surgery? I was told by the Surgical Nurse that called me today that some people go home the same day. The Medical doctor that did my clearance two weeks ago stated one night and my surgeon said one to two nights. Obviously its based on any complications that may arise but just curious if you don't mind sharing. Thank you!
  9. 10 days Post-Op and still on liquid. I notice if I drink more than three swallows of my protein shake or creamy soup I get a discomfort as it goes down or rather settles into my stomach like a sensation that feels like gas build up and the soup or drink is trying to get through and then creates a pressure that pushes it up so I feel this constriction and then need to burp to relieve the pressure is the best way to describe it. I swallow two or three spoonful's of soup as an example then wait about 20 minutes before attempting more. Am I eating too many bites at once? Has anyone else had this feeling and or is it normal and passes with continued healing? Just thinking this will be a miserable existence if this is what I experience for the remainder of my life while trying to take in nutrition at every meal. Anyone?
  10. Thank you - will do on the slow down and see if that helps. Your response if really appreciated.

    10 Days Post-Op Questions

Maybe right - it happens when I have two or three soup spoonful's then I wait 20 minutes. Maybe I need to spread it out further. Thanks for your response:)
  14. Understanding that there is reasonable healing time and weight loss being the biggest priority has anyone indulged in a glass or two of wine and had any issues with it? I travel for a living and entertain customers frequently so often times social drinking at dinner comes up and I do enjoy a good glass of wine.

    Maybe TMI

I was 6 days and had to finally take Miralax to assist on day 7. Been right as rain since
  16. I can not thank you enough for sharing this. This is exactly the kind of detailed information I was hoping someone would share with me. Sincerely thank you!
  17. Thank you for sharing what your surgeon recommended that is helpful.
  18. Thank you for sharing, I really do appreciate it. I am frankly in no way concerned about becoming an alcoholic but yes I did read several things about transfer addictions. I honestly was just wondering how long everyone waited because the surgeons recommendations are clearly very different on many issues and what if any adverse reactions anyone may have had. With Travel and Live shows opening up again I have a venue coming in in Mid June and will be dining with a few important customers. I am in all honestly just checking in with others in hopes of hearing about their experiences at which point I will make a decision if June is much too early for me to have a glass of wine at a customer dinner.
  19. Like with everything else in this journey seems some doctors are more cautious than others certainly and I agree everything I have read are strong and weak opinions but thought I would throw it up here. As an example; I know a gal that had surgery the same day as I and she is already on soft foods like mushy potatoes. My doctor however prefers a full 5 week strictly liquid diet for his patients before moving to soft foods. Having said that, I was really more wondering what others are being told and what they are doing. As far as how much one drinks, for me I would say my habits have been fairly consistent and I indulge in a glass or two of wine every 2-3 weeks. With Clients at dinner 1-2 glasses of wine. Was really looking mostly for a timeline following surgery that everyone is following.

    Surgery tomorrow

Wish I had that intel before I went in. I would have loved mouth wash. It took me two days before I could brush my teeth - of course I was in ICU so until I just got up and did it I lived with it.

    Hungry hungry hungry

I am not in the same stage as you having just had my surgery a week ago but I did lose 13lbs in the two weeks before surgery by drinking 2 Ensure protein shakes and in between I would have a bowl of steamed veggies. Snack before dinner I would do raw carrots and celery with Walden Farms zero calorie dressing. Dinner was a salad with 2 oz's of baked Turkey, Fish or Chicken. If I needed snack before bed I would do the Sugar Free popsicle's. That worked for me. Since I had my surgery I have been on Protein Shakes and some broth only so cant really say much about post surgery but did lose another 10lbs the last week. Don't get discouraged. Try changing up your workout a bit. Do Treadmill or go for a walk instead of Bike (alternate). I would say maybe take the cinnamon bread out of the equation as may be contributing to a stall. Just remember - you've got this!
  23. I agree - clearly everyone is different and I am very grateful they kept me.
  24. HI Rosie, Glad your post op appointment went well. I do not see the doctor until 4/22 and will be my first. I am sorry that you are having a rough day. I have read it is not uncommon. I am finding the energy level is part of the strain for sure and I believe that can certainly cause some emotional ups and downs as well. As for me I have noticed I have been a bit snippy but that is only because I live with two of my youngest sons or I should say they live with me. At 20 they still need to be the same thing 15 times before it seems to absorb, hence the snippy! LOL I am having a better day than yesterday thankfully but still did not make it to the treadmill just too tired still.
