  1. miracle noodles not impossible. Bought them later in the week I'll try em. Wonder how many days it will take to finish the whole bag.[emoji849] there's all different kinds of these. This just happened to be the one I bumped into first. I bet the plain ones are like the other commenter said and take on the flavor which is great definitely going to try those shiitake mushroom noodles sooner than later. 20211009_171003.jpg

  2. I have two that are the same. My son came and gave me a big bear hug and said mommy I can reach all the way around you now!!! I can touch my hands together.

My boyfriend has never said much accept being super supportive in all I try to accomplish but after my son said that I noticed how much better I fit in his arms. Cuddling has never felt better as he can easily wrap his arms around me.

  4. Yes. Lots of regrets but most of it is psychological. I found a bariatric therapist that I'll start seeing next week so I'm hoping to learn better coping mechanisms and a better insight on my weight loss blues. 7 months after surgery about 80 pounds lost and I should be ecstatic. My knees dont hurt anymore I can walk without my feet hurting and stairs are no longer a dreaded force of terror. I should mention that I have been diagnosed with major depressive disorder before surgery and I thought it was under control but faced with not being able to have comfort coping foods old symptoms flared up. Going to get over this Bump in the road though and once I do I'll probably have no regrets. Wish you all the best on your journey.

  5. I got a nasty shock after taking down my locs a few days ago. I tried everything to prevent or lessen the inevitability but I wasn't lucky. My natural hair is already fine and thin--NTM it takes FOREVER to grow anyway--so you can imagine how devastated I am. I keep crying whenever the thought creeps up on me. And to think I called myself emotionally prepping for this for months! I still wasn't ready. It's so thin and scalpy. [emoji80]
Part of me is so frustrated I want to shave it off, but I won't. I guess I'll just continue with my usual bariatric Vitamins and supplements and try and be hopeful...
Oh man. I'm so dreading taking down my braids for this reason. [emoji30]

  6. Strangest thing in the world I just said f* it at a barbecue and took a bite of a rib. Just one. It stayed down was delicious. Hours later had another bite. I was like how that went down easier than an egg or any type of chicken I've tried? Everyone's body is so different. Mine is different from itself from day to day it seems.[emoji2376]

  7. I have a dime on the table next to me to.help me gauge my size or bites. I guess I need to wait longer in between bites with my baby utensils. Lol I heard using the tiny silverware would help it has somewhat. I am just so hungry I am pretty sure I'm not being patient enough. I'll do the vomit thing if I finish faster than 30 minutes. Patience was never a virtue I was endowed with. Man am I learning the hard way.

  9. Sleeved Feb 2021 and still having discomfort eating and drinking. Not able to eat one whole egg yet and too much of a gulp of Water hurts. I've developed some unhealthy coping mechanisms just to hide from the hunger. I'm always hungry. Just venting at this point. I'm not sure what's worse the pain from not eating or the pain of trying to get the food down. I feel so anxious thinking about putting anything in my mouth that's not going to numb the pain. I was told that it will get better. I was so excited when I hit that 4 month mark and I was like yay I can try salads. Did not go down well at all and not to be gross but came right out exactly as it went in. Just having a hard time with food. [emoji17]

  10. Feb 24th here. Was having a hard time mentally and physically in the beginning but it's been getting better along the way. 20lbs down since surgery day. Moved into soft foods this week and I cant believe how many things I cant eat for another 3 or 4 months. It's hard having the family sitting down to burgers and or pizza and I'm like no thanks I cant eat that yet. Then I get the you should just try a couple of bites. Yeah nope. If I take too big of bites I still have this rock in my stomach feeling. I'm thankful that I can keep things down now and the heartburn has subsided. Still tired more than I'd like to be but I do notice once I do get moving I have more energy longer and can walk further with less joint pain. Everyone keep up the good work!

  11. Wow thanks so much for sharing your story. I had a small hernia that was discovered in preop testing. I wish I would have asked those questions or really ANY questions. I'm one month out of surgery lost about 45 pounds but feel terrible most days. Always tired and always hungry. Only had some wicked heart burn a few nights ago I just chalked it up to me moving from the pureed stage to solids. I so hope it gets better over time. I just figured I'm having a really slow recovery. Been taking famotidine for heart burn. It also happens if I dont eat anything. I will definitely bring more questions to my surgeon next visit.

  12. I'm in such a better place mentally than I was this morning after hearing from everyone. I also spoke with the doctor and tried his recommendation with eating and I feel sooo much better with a bit of food in me. Hunger is a dangerous thing for me I guess it just sets off all my stinking thinking. Ugh. I just figured I would stop eating and I'd be ok. He explained how I need to be eating more because my body will go into starvation mode and pull from wherever if I'm not giving it what it needs. I actually exercised a bit today afterwords and going to clean my room. It's not much but it's a start. Thanks again to everyone who took the time to read and or respond.
    *big hugs*

  13. Oh man. This is so what I want to avoid. I posted earlier about how easy it would be to pick up my old self destructive habits. Mainly any of the ones that make you not feel hungry anymore. I havent tried it but the temptation is real. I wouldn't try it because it could turn into a coping mechanism instead of a weekend party time thing and then it's never any fun again as you forget how to function and digest food normally without it. Your tolerance is going to be super super low and just a fraction of what you used to do could possibly be fatal. The risks just dont seem worth it. Be careful with whatever you choose to do or not do.
