WHOOOO! I needed a "formal" dress for a Charity event. I walked in, saw a dress I liked, grabbed a size. Tried it on an BAM! DONE!!!! Never in a million years would this happen. Normally it would be 45 stores, 2 weeks of looking and basically finding something I hate but fits..

    WHOOOOO HOOO

Also- I HIT MY FIRST "ORIGINAL" GOAL THIS WEEK!

This was what my surgeon and myself agreed on from my initial appointment and I am perfectly fine here.. but my "updated" goal is just there to be able to say I lost half of my original body weight!

So excited and proud for you!

Things shift around once you reach maintenance, and it no longer hurts to sit.

I wish that was the case for me. I’m 2.5 years out and reached my goal about 6 months after surgery. Still kills my tailbone when I sit. It’s never good, but on my 15 hour flight this week, not even a pillow helped. Not complaining though. Happy not to have the big tush anymore!

You can get a card from your doctor, Amazon or Bariatric Pal that says that have to allow you to order from the kids menu, share with someone or order smaller portions.

Usually they let you. When they don’t automatically, I pull the manager aside and explain I had weight loss surgery. Never had a problem.

Could you please share your favorite supplements brand for multi vitamins/iron/calcium and why they’ve worked best for you? I need to order some and am confused between chews (like Starbursts?) and liquid (better absorption?) and chewables (chalky?). I care most about proper absorption bc I’m having gastric bypass and want to keep my levels healthy. Thanks all!

I love ProCare. I started with the chewable citrus Vitamin (didn’t like the berry), post surgery, and then switched to capsules once I was able to swallow pills. I also use the ProCare calcium chews. My levels have been great. ProCare will send you a free sample. It’s also been convenient with auto ship a couple of years out.

Can’t wait for this. I lost 90lbs presurgery and I’m down about 10 more post ( just over 2 weeks). And I feel I should be happy with 100 down, but I’m struggling to find NSVs and this is a big one I’m looking forward to.

100 pounds lost is AMAZING! Two weeks post surgery is early on. Be patient. I’m two years out. Trust me, you’ll have tons of NSVs!!!

I think the best NSV for me was being able to use a normal size towel and not have the gap. I have since gained almost all of my weight back after 2 kids, a blown ACL and Esophagus issues the last couple of years. I am going back in to tomorrow to have my band filled a little bit more. Crossing my fingers, I can find the green zone and get back to losing. It has definitely gotten harder to lose the weight as I have aged. When I was 20 it was just falling off.

    I’m cheering you on!

I was at the mall yesterday and saw them putting some shorts and T-shirts on display. One year ago I'd have taken a look and wished I could wear those. Not this time haha. I went in and got my first shorts in more than 30 years. It feels strange but awesome lol.

I'm now wearing size 33" pants (52" before WLS) and M/L T-Shirt (5XL before WLS) which was a nice surprise. No longer going to the beach wearing jeans after this 😃.

I went out this weekend for my cousins birthday, and had multiple NSVs.

I was called "skinny" multiple times. 🤯 Got a couple of "whoa look at you girl" comments

People I haven't seen since before surgery didn't recognize me.

I danced!! and didn't care.. didn't care that I can't dance. Didn't care if people were staring at my horrible dancing skills. I just danced and didn't care... this is HUGE for me because all of my friends and family have ALWAYS been trying to get me on the dance floor at events and I just sit there by myself.... I HAD A BLAST!

Thank you for this post. It made me so happy! Congratulations!

This isn’t a NSV, but everyone reading this thread HOPEFULLY can give me some insight. I am 18 months PO. I have lost 156 lbs. (total) BUT, WHY do I bite the inside of my mouth when I chew sometimes! Is it the weight lost in the face, sagging to allow me to ‘bite it easier’ now?

I have now idea, but I still wanted to say congratulations! 156 pounds loss is AMAZING!

My second goal is hoping to be stable enough at goal in a year and have a Tummy Tuck 6 months later. I'm 10 wks post op and have about 100# to go. Am down #35 down since bypass. Glad to hear posts about post surgery.

You’ll get there before you know it! March will be two years post WLS for me. Just got my Tummy Tuck and thighplasty December 22nd. Post plastic surgery appointment tomorrow. Today I bought a short shirt to show off my belly when it’s healed. I’m probably too old to wear it, but excited I can and I’ll look good in it! Oh and even funnier… it’s a large… FROM THE KIDS department. I also bought a kids size 14 sweatsuit. So much cheaper now that I wear kids sizes rather than a 2x women’s!!!

I got it off Amazon. It’s called a drain belt. It is super handy, I don’t know about flattering but it’s nice to keep them in one place :)

I got my drains out yesterday and I WISH I had known about the belt. I had my tummy and thighs done and the drains were a tangled mess. Your results look awesome! Congrats!

  12. I had a Tummy Tuck and thigh lift last week. Recovering now. I’m sore, but doing better than I expected. The worst part was the drains. Thankfully they’re out now. I was hoping to have my eyes done at the same time, but the surgeons decided it would be too much to do at once. It’s hard to take off from work, so it’s disappointing I couldn’t do it all at once. I may combine arms and eyes, but debating if the arm scar is as bad as the bat wings.

After weight loss I loved crossing my legs and strolling around effortlessly. I’m really missing that now, but understand it’s temporary. After feeling skinny, I now feel fat. My husband said it’s just all the compression garments and swelling. Can’t wait until I’m healed and can see and feel the results.

I LOVE Torrid jeans, I will actually be sad to size out but still looking forward to it. I don't even know where to find good jeans. HAHA! I plan to go shopping with my cousin who has my style and smaller so she can guide me on where to find jeans equivalent to torrid!

That’s how I felt sizing out of Avenue’s petite butter denim Jeans which were so comfortable. Not that I’m complaining about being too skinny now!

These leather boots. They are "Born" boots and usually around 200 bucks. I got them at Goodwill for 8 bucks. My calf was 23.5 at my highest weight and I really couldn't get knee high boots. I had a pair of extra wide calf boots back then that I broke the zipper on with my meaty old calves! I've always had "athletic" (I used that word extremely loosely here lol) calves so even now I'm around 15.5 inches, but these are regular calf boots and I could zip them and I'm so happy!
