Hi!, yes I can share. Thank god, even with the weight gain I was approved. What insurance do you have? I have blue cross blue shield ppo. I wouldn’t be too worried, if you get all the other clearances. Good luck on your journey! Wish you all the best :)

I got really tired of sweet stuff, so I've started having broth throughout the day and a serving of Tomato juice. However, I would check with your doctor/dietician to see what you are allowed per your plan. I'm on day 10 of my pre-op.... it definitely has been a struggle but we can do this!
Same here! Thank you for the ideas, I know I'm going to be craving something savory soon. It is difficult! but we have the determination to do this!! Good luck with your pre- op and post op journey!

Based on the paperwork I received from Pre-op, they said to use the Protein Drinks for 2 out of 3 meals. So I ate one "Real Food" following the healthy plate information they gave me. On that paper, it says you can have a little fruit (1/3c) or less with your meal.
Had my surgery yesterday and feeling great! Now I'm on a truly liquid diet (broth, Water, sugar free drinks).... looking forward to having Protein drinks again.... Best of luck on your pre-op and post op success!
I agree! they are really good in flavor to me. Thank you so much for the help. Congrats! So glad you are feeling great! Best of luck to you as well!

Hi guys I recently started the pre-op liquid diet and had some questions. I purchased Premier Protein shakes, are they good for pre-op, I also bought Water and low calorie snapple. So what I am doing is drinking a shake for Breakfast, lunch and dinner, and drinking Clear Liquids in between. Is this good? Can I mix a fruit/ vegetable with the premier Protein Shake? Advice and tips please thank you!

So excited for all of us, got the call today from my surgeon's office that my insurance approved, and my surgery date is 3/24/2021. I go on the liquid diet on the 10th!

So glad that you were able to get approved. It makes sense, my BMI is 43 I believe now. So that’s why I am a bit nervous. I just hope everything works out

Have you had your last weigh in?

I know! I think it's so ridiculous.

Hi everyone, I am new here and I have finally decided to go through with doing the Gastric Sleeve. My surgeon told me that my insurance requires a 6 month medically supervised weight loss with my primary care provider. I am scheduled March 24th for my surgery, but I have gained 8 pounds within the last two months of my supervised weight loss. The nurse told me try not to gain, and insurance can deny me if I do gain. I have tried to get answers from my insurance company, but nobody has been able to answer my question. I am located in New York, and my hospital plan is city of New York Blue Cross Blue Shield ppo. I am supposed to go on 2 week liquid diet on March 10th, and I believe I'll lose the weight I gained from that. I am just really nervous of denial, and was wondering if anyone has my insurance, or has been denied for weight gain on the supervised weight loss? Thanks!
Puree food help

Hi guys!, I had my gastric sleeve surgery on April 1st, and it's been tough. My surgeon gave me the okay to move on to pureed food today. I know you are not allowed to have much sugar, and to try to have little to no consumption of sugar. I made a mistake, and bought a lot of baby food based on fruits such as apple, strawberry, peach, banana, pear, apricot. I didn't check the nutrition facts, and realize it does have sugar added. Just to double check, Am I not allowed to eat anything with sugar? and what did you guys eat for the pureed stage? what can I eat? I really can't stomach the pureed meat, and I am now looking on what I should buy. Advice needed thank you!
