I tried byetta this past summer, I first started on 5mg twice a day, That did nothing for me no weight loss and no better control of my sugar, after 3 months my DR. switched me to the 10mg twice a day. I did not handle that well at all. Threw up many times after that injection no matter what I ate. I stopped taking byetta after one month. I am being banded on the 18th of September. I can't wait.

My date for surgery is Sept. 18. I started my pre op diet today, did not need to start until Thurs. This way I have a few days to totally get on with the plan. Good luck to everyone being banded in Sept. Anyone in Roanoke Va.??

I also have my surgery date for the 18th of September. Start my slim fast diet/ lean cusine diet on Sept. 4th. I am a bit worried about that, I sit at a desk & like to munch throughout the day. Any suggestions to help. I plan on drinking alot of k2o. Did anyone much on things like cucumbers & tomatoes to help???

I am glad to hear you went back to work in just a week. My support group laughed at me when I told them I wanted to go back to work in a week. Someone waited 6 weeks to return to work. I am a sectretary in a high school. My surgery date is Sept.18.

Hi I am a secretary at a high school. I plan on eating while I work and walk during my lunch time. We get a half hour for our lunch break. No date for surgery yet hope to have one soon.

This is my first post but I have been reading post since the end of June. I am learning quite a bit through others experiences. I am in the process of having lap band surgery. My phyc appt. is tomorrow. All other appts. have been made, just waiting for my final Dr. appt to schedule surgery. A little bit about myself, I have been diabetic for 10 years and as my meds increase so does my weight. At this point I am about 65 lbs. overweight. I have never had a weight problem before becoming diabetic, went back to pre pregancy weight with all 3 children. I hope having surgery helps my sugar levels and I am able to cut back on meds. and get my weight back in control. Are there any diabetics who found improvement with their diabeties after surgery?? Wish me luck tomorrow.
