Okay I am getting my first fill later today, and I am terrified. :smile2: I have been reading all of these threads about the bad experiences people have had getting fills. I should not have read them because now I am anxious. Please help, what should I expect. Hopefully I am just overreacting and it won't be bad.

I think that your food choice was a little too heavy for the mushy stage. Just remember to chew chew chew. Stick to your doc's orders. I know that it's difficult because you may feel like you can handle the food, but give you body a chance to heal. We are here to help each other we have all been there done that. So good luck to you and take it easy chic.

Just wanted to stop in and say hi. Is there anyone here who was banded in New Orleans or the surrounding area. I was banded on July 25, 2008 by Dr. Treen in Marrero, LA. :Banane37:

Okay I've realized a long time ago that I prefer utilizing exercise videos as opposed to walking on a walking track. So with that being said does anyone have any suggestions on a good exercise video.:confused2: Maybe one that is short and sweet and to the point. Not all long and drawn out like some of them can be.

My favorite songs that I have come to love since I became a mother 5 years ago are, Isn't she lovely by Stevie Wonder and If I Could by Regina Bell. Those songs makes me cry all of the time, especially the one by Regina. But my all time favorite old school artist is Donny Hathaway. That man's voice is amazing, he could sing me right out of my, ooops:drool:, if he were still alive.LOLOLOLOLOL:lol: "A Song For You" is one of my favorites:tt1:
Oh my theme song when I reach my weigt loss goal will be "Brick House" by The Commodores. Just like Shaft's theme song, "Brick House" will play everytime I enter the room.

Hey yall just wanted to give you guys an update on how I'm doing. Well I have little to no pain, just some discomfort. The only thing that is bothering me is this freakin gas. I have been walking trying to shake this mess. OMG I have a huge gas bubble in my chest as we speak....Hold on to your hats, she's gonna blow...lol:scared2: Well to all of those who are getting banded really soon, good luck to you all. And thanks again for all the support and prayers.
just as a side note. all of that foolishness about not being hungry following the surgery is a bunch of Sugar Honey Iced Tea. I was starving and I am still hungry. Cursed that flippin chicken broth

Hey u guys...Just a little update. I am still amongst the living, a little sore though, but not really bad. Just trying to get rid of this freakin gas. Well again I have no pain at my incision sites. They are mostly on the left side of my stomach. When I walk it feels a bit heavy on that side. Other than that I have been walking around trying to get rid of this gas. OMG there is a big gas bubble in my chest right now...lolol. Hold on to your hats she's gonna blow.... Just wanted to update ya'll on how I'm doing. TTYL

Okay it is done, finally. I got to the hospital at 6:30am and I was home for approximately 11:45am. I guess surgery got started about 7:45 then a few hours of recovery. Honestly the experience was not bad at all. The worst part was waking up from the anesthesia. Not a lot of pain just discomfort. I have no pain at the incision sites ( I have 5 little incisions), just discomfort from the gas. I have been taking gas-x strips like crazy. They don't seem to be working, but walking back in forth is my house makes it a bit easy. I can honestly say that the experience was not bad at all. I was a bit hungry, so I had a few sips of Water here and there and a little broth. I'm pretty sure that I may have a little pain tomorrow, hopefully not much. I am so glad it is finally done and now I can look forward to working on the new me. I was calm, no anxiety or fear this morning. Thanks for the prayers ya'll, they definitely worked. God is Great. TTYL and Thanks again

hey you guys! I am so happy that there are others here whom were banded by Dr. Treen. He is a great surgeon. I did not have any probs. I had my first fill on last Thursday. The band is really tight in the morning, but not having much restriction. He said if I didn't feel any restriction, I should come in for another fill in 2 weeks. Congrats Soup on your surgery, Now the real journey begins. Well I am not from Plaquemines, but I did grow up right in Gretna, and now I live in Algiers. Will you guys be going to the upcoming support group. I will probably attend.
