  1. OMG I thought that it was just me. I am 17 week and I am having sorness near the port site. I can't believe that I will have to deal with this feeling throughout the entire pregnancy. UGHHHHHHHH:eek::o:laugh::lol::thumbup::smile2:. Sometimes it's gets so uncomfortable, I just wanna rip it out, lolol:biggrin:

  2. I was reading this thread and it amazed me on so many levels. All I can say is "WooSaaa" And let it go, please. It was only a matter of time, right? April, so that it is possible for you to appease "EVERYBODY" maybe you should really consider changing the name to "Women of All Colors." Yeah right girl, U know that I am joking. Is it really that serious, that someone felt the need to address the name of group. :out:Obviously the name of the group attracts many, and we are all glad to have them all, aren't we? Peace:grouphug:

  3. Yeah that's not bad at all!! I told the Dr. at the seminar I went to that I have a veryyy low threshold for pain but she assured me they gave the best drugs around lol Re: the sweet spot, can you tell me, when you or your Dr finds it does it always stay the same or will it change as you lose weight? Also are you losing/have you lost the average 1-2 pounds a week and feel like that isn't as much as you want?

I think what I find the most eye-opening about the seminar was that the Dr. was very, very candid that the band gives you a little edge vs. gastric which gives you a lot more. I am not a fan of slicing and dicing my insides but of late my eating habits have gone downhill and I need to really get it together. I am trying to get my workout back to where it was last year and then tighten up the diet but thank you for the candid post because its always better to get information first hand!

Girl the pain is the least of your worries, you are gonna be so glad to be banded, you won't worry about the minimal discomfort. Well as for the sweet spot, it's good restriction. Meaning I will be unable to eat a large about of food in one sitting. So the less I eat the more weight I loose. Right now I have very little restriction. All of us are different some people hit their sweet spot with just the band and no fill, and others my need 1,2, or 3, but in my case I am going on my 4th fill, so I hope this is it. Oh yeah the fills are nothing, just the little sting of the local, that's all:thumbup:

  4. Well let me tell you all of us whom are banded are different. With me a typical day for me is welll ummmm, Normal. I have been doing the special k Cereal thing. And what's so funny pre-band a bowl of cereal would never have filled me up in the morning. Although I eat a little more than the serving size. The service size is not enough for my 5 year old daughter, lol. I have been banded since July and I have not lost as much weight as I would have liked. I will be going in for my 4th fill on tomorrow, and I am hoping for better restriction after this fill, hopefully. I have very little restriction so far, I have yet to reach that sweet spot. I do and get "stuck" from time to time. That is the worst part of be banded to me. I had a "stuck" episode on last Sunday, I literally thought that I was gonna stop breating. I apparently ate a piece of beef roast to fast :tt1:. I slimmede all over then place, then :puke:i ......instant relief. So you really have to chew well and eat slowly. So far it has not been bad at all. My surgery went very well, I had very little pain, just some discomfort. Well just wanted to let you know a lil bit of what I go through. Not that bad huh? Well TTYL. And good luck on your journey.

  5. OH I feel everybody's pain. Today I have had my worse "stuck" episode to date. Yes I have had a few of them. I ate 2 pieces of beef pot roast. Let's just say, I don't want to see roast again. I have never felt pain like that in my life, and I've had a C-Section, lol. I literally thought that I was gonna stop breathing. I was so scared. I began sliming all over the place :tt2:. I walked, I stretched, and tried to burp. No end to the pain. Tears ran down my face:cry_smile:. I tried to drink Water, but the roast did not let the water down. Approximately 5 mins into it, I tried to cough......No need to get graphic, you know what happened next . Instant relief......:thumbup:So just a little reminder to my banded peeps...CHEW, CHEW, CHEW, CHEW, AND EAT SLOWLY.

  6. Hi all:

I just started the process at Surgical Clinic of La. I really like them so far. I will be self-pay and am hoping to have the procedure in late january.

    Hi Shangefan,

I was also self pay. I had my surgery on July 25. Yes they are really nice at Surgical Clinic of La, especially Karen, she is so well versed in the lapband. Well good luck to you and KIT.

  7. Hey thanks you guys for the support. I went to the dr today he removed the Fluid to insure that it was all there then he went on to add 1cc. I am now up to 4cc's. I hope that I begin to feel restriction. He said that from here on out he will put less than 1cc in the band if I need another fill because a little makes a big difference now. So I am excited again. I will keep ya'll posted to let you guys know if I am feeling restriction.

  8. Okay I got my 2nd fill last tuesday. Following my first fill I didn't have much restriction. Only difference I had was that the band was extremely tight in the morning. Now since I've had my 2nd fill, I actually feel nothing at all. No restriction, no tightness, no nothing. What is really going on. I contacted my doc on Fri and I was told if I didn't feel any difference by Monday, I should come in to have the band checked to make sure the Fluid that he put in is still in there. OMG, please don't let me be one of the few with band problems. Has anyone here ever experience anything like this? Help Help:crying:

  9. Hey guys! just wanted to udate ya'll. I have evacuated to a city outside of New Orleans. I am in a shelter with my job. Well the mood here is well ummm, there is not much mood here. I am with a lot of volunteers from across the country and they are so stoked to be here, I don't understand why. Honestly I am here because I need my job. I hated the fact that I had to send my 5 year old daughter to my sister's in Dallas, Tx. I really wanted to get the He** out of Louisiana. But I am stuck in between a rock and a hard place. Stay here and ride out the storm or evacuate to Tx and loose my job. :):cursing::rolleyes::cursing: This is not an easy task , but I gotta do what I gotta do. TTYL.

  10. Ya'll please keep my city, New Orleans, in your prayers. I am not sure if we can handle another blow. This is ridiculous, seriously. I was watching the news last night and it showed a lady who had just moved back into her home since Hurricane Katrina, and now she is preparing to evacuate due to that F:cursing: Gustav. Well I will be evacuating with my job, The American Red Cross. Please pray for us that this blows over and misses us. Thanks ya'll!!!!!

  11. Girl I know what you mean about that band being tight in the morning. I just had my first fill last thursday, and that sucka is so tight in the morning. It loosens up during the day. I will get another fill in a week because as the day progress I loose restriction. But boy oh boy is that sucka tight right now. It has take me almost 30 mins to eat to bites of soft scrambled eggs:hurt:. Who knew eating an egg could be so painful:sad:

  12. April you are right, it does seem just like yesterday. The time is flying by. I don't feel really different yet. Well, since I've had the first fill, the band is really tight in the morning. Not having much restriction though, so I really have to watch what I eat and try really really hard to utilize Portion Control. My doc told me to come back in 2 weeks for another fill if I didn't feel any restriction. So I'll be making that appointment this week. Trust me when I say, it is not as easy as some people on this site makes it seem. You really do have to work hard at making this thing work. The band is just a tool, really it is. It's no magic wand.
