    Big Pills

Girl I know what you mean about that band being tight in the morning. I just had my first fill last thursday, and that sucka is so tight in the morning. It loosens up during the day. I will get another fill in a week because as the day progress I loose restriction. But boy oh boy is that sucka tight right now. It has take me almost 30 mins to eat to bites of soft scrambled eggs:hurt:. Who knew eating an egg could be so painful:sad:

    I found ya'll!!!!

Welcom Sherich, glad you found us too. April 9/9 is almost here!!!
  5. April you are right, it does seem just like yesterday. The time is flying by. I don't feel really different yet. Well, since I've had the first fill, the band is really tight in the morning. Not having much restriction though, so I really have to watch what I eat and try really really hard to utilize portion control. My doc told me to come back in 2 weeks for another fill if I didn't feel any restriction. So I'll be making that appointment this week. Trust me when I say, it is not as easy as some people on this site makes it seem. You really do have to work hard at making this thing work. The band is just a tool, really it is. It's no magic wand.
  6. Okay I am getting my first fill later today, and I am terrified. :smile2: I have been reading all of these threads about the bad experiences people have had getting fills. I should not have read them because now I am anxious. Please help, what should I expect. Hopefully I am just overreacting and it won't be bad.

The band is really tight in the morning, but not having much restriction. He said if I didn't feel any restriction, I should come in for another fill in 2 weeks. Congrats Soup on your surgery, Now the real journey begins. Well I am not from Plaquemines, but I did grow up right in Gretna, and now I live in Algiers. Will you guys be going to the upcoming support group. I will probably attend.

    Oh no I didnt...

I think that your food choice was a little too heavy for the mushy stage. Just remember to chew chew chew. Stick to your doc's orders. I know that it's difficult because you may feel like you can handle the food, but give you body a chance to heal. We are here to help each other we have all been there done that. So good luck to you and take it easy chic.
  15. Okay I've realized a long time ago that I prefer utilizing exercise videos as opposed to walking on a walking track. So with that being said does anyone have any suggestions on a good exercise video.:confused2: Maybe one that is short and sweet and to the point. Not all long and drawn out like some of them can be.
  16. Thanks for the suggestions ya'll. I actually picked up that walk away the lbs dvd then put it down and bought the Biggest Loser exercise dvd. Anyone ever tried that one?

    Favorite Oldie Song

My favorite songs that I have come to love since I became a mother 5 years ago are, Isn't she lovely by Stevie Wonder and If I Could by Regina Bell. Those songs makes me cry all of the time, especially the one by Regina. But my all time favorite old school artist is Donny Hathaway. That man's voice is amazing, he could sing me right out of my, ooops:drool:, if he were still alive.LOLOLOLOLOL:lol: "A Song For You" is one of my favorites:tt1: Oh my theme song when I reach my weigt loss goal will be "Brick House" by The Commodores. Just like Shaft's theme song, "Brick House" will play everytime I enter the room.

    Where Are My G.R.I.T.S

    ziahmama, Louisiana in the House
  24. Okay it is done, finally. I got to the hospital at 6:30am and I was home for approximately 11:45am. I guess surgery got started about 7:45 then a few hours of recovery. Honestly the experience was not bad at all. The worst part was waking up from the anesthesia. Not a lot of pain just discomfort. I have no pain at the incision sites ( I have 5 little incisions), just discomfort from the gas. I have been taking gas-x strips like crazy. They don't seem to be working, but walking back in forth is my house makes it a bit easy. I can honestly say that the experience was not bad at all. I was a bit hungry, so I had a few sips of water here and there and a little broth. I'm pretty sure that I may have a little pain tomorrow, hopefully not much. I am so glad it is finally done and now I can look forward to working on the new me. I was calm, no anxiety or fear this morning. Thanks for the prayers ya'll, they definitely worked. God is Great. TTYL and Thanks again Yettia
  25. I am scheduled to have surgery on Friday, 7/25, and my fiance is not to happy about it. I have wanted this surgery since 2000, and he was always encouraging and wanted it for me just as badly as I wanted it. Now that I have done self pay and the surgery is coming up, he is now questioning my decision. He now does not understand why I need the surgery. And he just can't seem to understand why I would pay 10k for the procedure. He is now saying things like we could have worked out together, we could have did this and that together to help me loose the weight. I think brotha is just a little bit insecure, because his chubby fiance is about to become a brick house,:crying:. He is trying everything in his power to discourage me from having it. Not gonna happen....He even told me that he loves me the way I am. I said if you can love me at 200+lbs, you can surely love me at 100+lbs. I just had to vent....
