  1. I haven't lost anything in the last couple of weeks. There has to be a reason why maybe the stress from surgery. I am still doing very well on what I am choosing to eat. So I am changing the foods so sooner or later it will come off.

    My family is even changing with out any fits. Last night I baked fresh peaches. I put cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and when they were done sprinkled with Splenda. It was sooo delicious. It was dessert that was good for you. Tonight I have some really rippen bananas. I am going to try a copy cat of bananas foster. This way I am still getting something sweet but it is really good for me. I am even eating fish tonight, I hate fish but I have to look at food differently and think of it as fuel for my body and try not to have my life evolved around food. So I will try to make the fish as good as possible , I just have to do it and tell myself this is the way it is.

  2. Orea I too went off sugars even no artifical or sweetners like maltodextrin. I didn't have honey or even Splena nothing sweetened. There is tons of sweetners in our foods. I only found 2 salad dressings that were not and Chilis every item on their menu has sugar added and that was the company telling me! So I know how you feel. I went back of sugars again before being banded and it was easier but I didn't keep it up.

    I went to Chick fil A yesterday and their GRILLED chicken sandwhich was good and also had a whole wheat bun. It was around 250 calories. Then I had their tiny fruit cup but I was satisfied. Last night I had a whole chicken that was already cooked had some breast from that, fresh corn on the cob and a little bit of potato. I then had some fresh fruit and a 60 calorie pudding cup. Sounds like a lot but portion size and it was healthy.

    Has any one heard of Eat This Not That? I went to the store yesterday and followed his guidelines, this may work for me. I got Kashi ceral and it had 16 grams of Protein. I picked out some frozen Entrees for lunch and picked out snack food for my family. So I am also trying to change what my family eats and it has been pretty easy. The book is a guide and it helped so much!

    Today I am having for lunch a cup of Stouffers Lasgna and some of the fresh fruit. I am hungry now even after having the protein in Kashi ceral for Breakfast. I am not letting myself go hungry just better food choices and those will satisfy you. This is a "journey" as they say and it will take practice before we get it right. Just stay steady and others please list what foods you have found to be helpful also.


  3. I meant to say I have cut out at least 2,000 just from not eating the ice cream. I did say that did't I. I am doing my best and I am now where near the calorie intake of what I was consuming today I think I am around 1500 calories. I went to Zio's first meal of the day, had a dinner salad and then split an entree with my husband and then gave him some more. It had Pasta and olive oil with sundried tomatoes and chicken. I used to eat Fett. Alfedo with 5 cheeses and lots of bread. Tonight thin crust pizza with cheese and some of the cheese taken off for my dogs. Did not eat but 3 small pieces. That is what i had today plus I cleaned house for a couple of hours then went to the mall. I still have not had any icecream or cake even for my son's b-day figure it is off limits the rest of my life since I would go back to abusing it. Last night for his b-day dinner the family and us met at chinese food buffet. I got no rice or linguini, I got meat not fried and veggies and then have fruit and that was it. Small portions, I did really well. Thank you for caring!

  4. I finally told me sister that I was banded. Regret it, wished I hadn't. I have the biggest mouth of any one I have just about none and I didn't want to tell my family and still don't. I told my mom that I was having it done and she said "I should tape my mouth shut". So then I didn't get it done then and 2 months later I did with out telling. Keep it private and don't let the guilt bother you, you did this for yourself. No one needs to know.

    I own a teeth whitening business and some times I tell my clients when we are having conversations about plastic surgery. I have told 4 so far and now maybe I shouldn't tell. I think though if I can help some one why not let them know first hand.


  5. It is funny you asked if I have lost any weight. I have not in the last 2 weeks. So I have lost 14lbs. and it has stopped even though I have not eaten cake, ice cream, Cookies, candy bars nothing that would trigger being out of control. I am so depressed and it is my son's 13 B-day today. All I can think of is this stupid f'in weight. Feel like why did I do this if the weight is not coming off! Seeing some people tonight who I really don't want to see because of my weight and we are going out to eat. So I know my Mom will be watching every mouthful. Wish it was just with my husband and son. I have a sedentary job but I am still taking naps and feel tired when I get home. So excersising would make it worse-being tired. I am consuming less than I was in calories around 2,000 less cause of not eating any sweets so why am I not loosing? So bummed feel like crying!


  6. My left side pain comes and goes. Yes, I have bowels movements but they are not easy. I read some other threads that had this as a discussion I think it is pretty common. I wonder if you can still have gas inside of your body. Also my stomach seems to still be puffy. I don't have appt. until a week from this coming Monday. So I will try stool softners see if that helps. I need to get Senekot I heard works will with out your movement being to harsh, you know what I mean?

    So no one has heard from Orea yet? I sent her a private email also. I have had some sent to me but I don't know how to find them. Glad someone knew what doctor and hospital she went to and she went home.


  7. I had whole wheat pancakes with no sugar added Syrup. I did this a couple of times. I also had cottage cheese with the canned pears with no sugar added.

    lunch I usaually had Soup. Jason's Deli broc Cheese soup was the best! I also had chili from Wendys. I could have lunch meat and whole wheat wraps. One day I had a wrap from Arbys with no lettuce, bacon or Tomato.< /p>

    dinner I ate chicken that was cut up and really well cooked veggies. Like Broc and carrots. I had whipped sweet potaotes. Any thing soft even mashed but i had the instant kind. I also had Pasta but made sure it had plenty of Protein and I watched my portion and sometimes put a veggie with it.

    I ate Jello, South Beach pudding it has some Fiber in it, some fresh fruit if it was not crunchy like watermelon, peaches with splenda. Did the 100 calorie Hostess cupcakes to help with sweet tooth. That worked I had 1 serving and stayed away from my dangerous foods such as ice cream, Cookies and other sweets. ( I have done that for 5 weeks)

    I tried fish a couple of times didn't like it. Shrimp is soft. Brisket I ate that but I think I wasn't suppose to. I cooked it all day and it had like a sauce with it so it was juicy and soft. I had a cheese burger cause the meat is already ground up and the bun I took must of the bread off of it. Some are saying not to eat red meat but I was thinking that was like a roast or steak because they have grissel and are more dry.

    Today I am having a chicken deli meat with string cheese and a whole wheat wrap.

    I have not found this to be difficult cause I got to eat soft foods my second week.

    Also Quicktrip has a Southwestern chic. wrap, I ate that with out the hot peppers and lettuce in it. The chicken was the consistency of chic. salad.< /p>

    I am now 4 weeks out and was told I could eat anything. I am proably not the best to go off of but it worked for me and I stayed away from No No foods for me.

    For a treat in the afternoon I would have a pudding and also earlier I get a lite lemonade from Sonic that are half price between 2-4. That helps with Fluid intake and really helps with cravings.

    I even ate pizza that had a soft crust but I took a lot of cheese off and ate a couple of slices. I didn't over do it. I able to eat anything so bread has not bothered me at all and I have had no PB or slimming.


  8. No one told me I should eat just 2 oz. Did you have any restriction at all. I did for about it week, it was wonderous! Felt full all the time. Didn't feel like eating much, it was great. I can eat anything too but I have stayed away from the sweets. Cause I know once I get started I could not stop. YOu are doing well with your Proteins and Vitamins. My Flinstones taste terrible and I am not getting enough Protein. I will have to figure things out better. Glad to meet you.


  9. Has anyone heard from Orea?

    I am too looking forward to restriction. I go in the second week of August. The only time that is a problem is at night but I am not overeating. Just want the feeling of being full for awhile. I had that after a week of surgery and I thought I was going to have restriction but I don't now.

    My side is better today. I read some other posts and maybe got a clue to what it is. I think it is Constipation which seems to be pretty common. Just thought I would share, I know it is not pretty. We are going through a lot trying to figure things out.


  10. I thought it was just steaks because it is grissley. I am 4 weeks on Friday. On my sheet of paper it said you can have meats just no beef with grisel. I hope I have not messed this up and then have to do something else. I was self pay. I am going to call the doctor tomorrow and hopefully can get in or get some answers. Thanks for helping.


  11. I don't think I have been doing things right. The office that i went to for my 1 week follow up said soft foods that you can use a fork to smush it. It said also chicken cubes, so I thought if I cut up chicken that is fine. Now I don't know. Planning on having a cheese burger (90% lean cooked on George Foreman) with sweet potato fries (baked). Is that soft foods? It is not hard or crunchy. I have been so confused on the food part. I have tried though. I will be 4 weeks on Friday and they say you can have normal foods. I know for one thing that I don't eat as much as take out as I used to.

    I have a cramp on my left side does any one else? Now I am worried that my band is slipping.


  12. I am not eating enough Protein maybe around 20 if that. Breakfast I don't like eggs and don't eat pork so I don't care for anything except like Bagels or pancakes. So I have a problem there. dinner really trying to have the protein. I don't care for the Protein Shots and I thought you are not supposed to have any more shakes a couple weeks out of surgery. If you have a chicken breast for dinner do you know the protein content in that? I am going to have to take time out and figure out what I am going to eat for lunch and breakfast like I have dinnner.

    Orea, are you there? How did you surgery go?


  13. Gosh I can not imagine eating soft liquids for 3 weeks! I have been on soft the last almost 2 weeks. Which is almost anything except crunchy or that is how I was explained.

    As far as some of the post go about not losing weight. I haven't lost any in the last couple weeks. I even stopped weighing myself. I just keep going on cause sooner or later it will come off.

    It really also helps if you go to the store with meals in mind of what you are going to eat. I put a list up on my cabinet of my menus and cross them off after I pick one and cook it for din din. This has helped me more than anything. I would also suggest if your husband is not a good cook do not allow him to cook. I let my husband cook last night and it went into the trash! He cooked shrimp that was already cooked. It was so tough it could have been a bullet. Ha haaaa haa

    So make sure you have another choice just in case something goes wrong.

    I sometimes get worn out and have to go home and take a nap. Does any one else do this? I could use a nap now and I have 2 1/2 hours before I can go home. Need to go to the store also but won't have the energy. Any one?

    Does any one have cramps that is located n the left side?


  14. I am 3 weeks out and feel really good. I haven't lost any more weight even though I have at least cut our 2,000 calories a day. So that part is disappointing but I know it will have to come off sooner or later. So I will weight. Still haven't had my favorite ice cream and that was the hugest problem for me. That has been over 4 weeks.

    I sometimes go home and go to bed and my husband has to come to my location and close his to cover my place which is busier. Watch out all July Banders don't let the heat get you. I did that last week end and have to leave about got sick and went to bed. So I think after surgery it is harder for you body to handle the heat.
