  2. Ebony 2 lbs over the holidays is very good can you imagine what you would have gained if it was for " Jillian"..lol... I'm going for my 2nd fil monday and can't wait. Keep up the good work ... the gym is a great tool to help us... I was reading under a fitness thread that one bandster thought she was going to need a Tummy tuck and went out and started working with the bender ball !!! She said no need for a tummy tuck no more!! Guess what I'm orderign today..LOL :wub: keep up the good work and let me know how the "Pouch Test Works".

  6. Marisol, sorry you've been so sick, takes alot for your band to slip... everyone says weightloss is slow when your healing. Was your band filled when it was installed? Mine was empty and I had 1st fill on the 18th of December looking forward to the 2nd one. I have heard that some people get good weight loss after a fill... who knows though everyone is different. Yes, I can feel my port very easily:unsure: freaks my kids out!!! lol... Good luck in your journey

    Where is all the CT Lapbanders??

    Hey everyone, Happy New year hope the holidays went well... Wow this was tuff not much restriction over the past few weeks My intake is up to 4-5 oz at a time and doesn't really hold me long. Im so scared to stretch my band!!!I moved up my fill appt to next week. I've been getting back to the gym but I have to lift weights at my job.. my gym has so many busy bodies it drives me nuts all the guys stop and watch you as you lift weights and then make comments!!! I swear if I wouldn't be charged i'd switch!!:wink_smile: Taking in all the Non Scale Victories and hoping after the 2nd fill things will feel like I have some more control again. Good luck everyone looking forward to a new me this year
  8. Amber i'm the same way I loved the progressive loss in the beggining and I have a fear of being out of control and I don't want to do any dambege by overeating. Glad to be back at work after the holiday so that Fridge will stop talking.:wink_smile: I have read that the 2nd fill will give us more restriction so I'm counting down the days:thumbup:
  9. Thanks, I heard that was a good book My dr.said to try to eat things that don'tcome out of a box.. no lean cusine no weight wathers etc.

    I love that infomercial but i'm a junkie with that stuff and I always wondered. Thank you so much for posting it. I will order and start ASAP that is the the biggest dislike of my body especially after two kid now weight loss!!

    Any feedback on protein drinks?

    I have one protein shake a day and it's right after I work out because I eat dinner 4 oz total of protein & Veggie then go to the gym for an hour which puts me home around 7 -7:30 by 8:30 I can eat a another meal !!! or if I'm craving something chocolate i will have a thick 4oz protein drink only 60 calories.

    Meals

    squeue WTG on the weight loss this part is tough!! I was banded on the 18th and it's alot of trial and error. I don't have lots of restriction so i have to snack inbetween meals. During my pre-op process my dr. asked that I go 6 mo's without touching a frozen meal or foods out of a box ( i.e Mac & Cheese, Ravioli .. prepared foods) What a diffrence it makes!! Most of the dinners are not good due to the chemicals they need to put in the food to preserve it then you still have all that sodium which makes you retain water. For lunches at work I buy Boars head lunch meats I get the turkey or chicken breast they have 5 flavors of each and 2oz is only 60 calories I have a slice a cheese and do roll ups. I add a few triscuts or flips to satisy my carb fix and the for snacks I pack protein shakes and sugar free pudding that is only 60 calories. I fins the more protein I take in the longer it holds me. I also learned a trick from the boards that if you take powder pudding mix and add some of it into your protein shake it thickens it up for you and holds you longer. From what I gather it's going to take us a while to figure out what works best for us. Good Luck

    help with stress eating

    Those Damn Cookies:cursing: thta is my biggest thing in my PMS phase and it's so darn hard to not eat them!! Yesterday I could have killed myself I bought a bag of peppridge farms Cookies I ate 6 milano cookies over the afternoon!!! What the______!!! I just have to realize I can't have it near me or in my sight I'm not strong enough yet!! Does planning meals and Snacks make it easier for everyone?

    How Much Can You Eat?

    I find that if I wait for my tummy to Growel 4 oz is not cutting it!!! I'm scarfing my food and taken in way to much then getting the feeling that I want to throw up!! If I eat at designated times and it's pre planned food ( lunch at work) I won't eat more and just have a snack inbetween meals if I'm hungry. Need 2nd fill to get some restriction. My dietician has stated your total meal should not be over 4 oz including Protein, veggies and starch.
  15. I'm with you... Today starts my day for the tummy to tell me and I'm going to track it this week so i can see what the real deal is... I'm dying for my 2nd fill I feel like I'm so hungry all the time. I cleared out my fridge this AM went to the store and I have my shakes and proper Snacks for getting in my daily Protein. I'm back at the gym and I'm ready to get rid of a few lbs. Drinking water is my biggest thing .. not drinking enough so now I'm going to try to carry a bottle with me every where I go. I'm ready to get back to work I've been on vacation for 2 weeks and I think going back will keep me on schedule.:tt2:

I wish I had your tummy went I went for mexican Yesterday!!!:thumbup: I ate chips and salsa like no one's business!! then of course I was so Darn Hungry I Inhaled my food and then 35 minutes later ...OMG.. I thought I was going to get sick.... I kicked my self in the butt all day i was so devistated:crying: but then I took by butt to Walmart and walked around that Darn store like 10 times and then said "Salad for Dinner"!!! I need a fill really bad I have no restriction I'm going to try to be super strong over the next two weeks before I get my second fill.

  18. I've tried waiting for a fill till late January but 3 meals a day are not enough I wake up In the middle of the night hungry... Stomach growling hungry. So I'm hoping they can fit me in sooner.:confused:

    question(s) on exercising

    Hi all I knwo how you feel .. however I have been going to the gym and I see small, medium & large people and it feels great the only thing I have a problem with asking for help with the equipment. I set my self a goal to go on Friday and walk in and ask if someone can help me. I don;t want a personal trainer I just want someone to walk me through the equipment so I can get an awesome body !!! I'm confused on Cardio and weights I have heard 10 diff things from 10 people. I need to tone and loose weight!! How much is to much cardio and how often does one do weights :laugh: If anyone has any idea I would love some advice. I currently do 40 min on treadmill with maintaining a 144 heart rate try to burn a min of 250-350 per session so I maintain 3.5 mph .. I'm afraid to jog just yet ..lol
  20. yes the first fill was with Fluro and he gave me a shot of Lidocaine before trying to find my port. I think next time I may tattoo a heart over my port ( lol) so he knows exactly wear it is because boy it was tough the first tiem took 4x to find that bad boy!!! I go on the 23rd hope it goes better.:laugh:

    26 days post-op and not losing...

    Hi everyoen I was baned on 11/18:smile2: it has been a roller coaster when i switched stages with weight from mushies to regular diet things slowed dow drastically. Things to keep in mind ..your still healing... your no longer on liquid so big digit weight loss will slown down if not drop to single digits & make sure you taking in enough PROTEIN!! I sat down one day and put my food intake in my-caloriecounter.com and realized I was eating only 300- 400 calories a day and not taking in the recommended 60-80 grms of Protein I needed. Since then I pay attention to things High in protetin of Drink a shake for snack if hungry to get that extra protein in. I have a friend that got her band in sept and has not been successful ecause she eats lots of slider foods and carbs. Honestly carbs were not our friend before the surgery and they certaintly aren't now. Journal your food intake it helps at the end of the day to say hey I did good or hey I didn;t make the greatest choices. Stay strong and look the NSV ( Non scale Victories) Crossing legs for the first time, touching toes without straining your back ( lol) Clothes fitting better and just feeling better in general.   22. My first fill was 4 weeks. My Dr. went to seminar and found out that the sooner your full the better your success and most patients can't wait 6 weeks. Do you have any fluid in your band right now?

    Port Questions

    Hi there, it's the swelling of th muscles around the port. It was attached to an abdominal muscle and it's a aise effect. I had this happen after surgery and after my first fill I was so concerned that I had a leak because of the lump but dr. said everyone reacts diffrently and that was my way of reacting. Congrats on your new tool.:wink2:
