Heading home now, I’ve only had Water and G2 Gatorade. Can’t seem to tolerate anything else yet but that’s fine. I’ll be on liquids again tomorrow then adding Protein Shakes and other thin items after that for the next two weeks. Glad to be over the surgery huddle and going home to start on the new me.

Checked in at 9. Surgery around 1130. I didn’t become cognizant of time until about 5pm. Pain meds on board. Nausea meds on board. Using my incentive spirometer. Walking also also really nice.

Started at 2:00 est finally feeling less groggy and just got up for the bathroom for the first time. Pain is manageable but the gas pain! Oh my! I’m staying overnight so I’m working on my Water sips. Very sore tummy. I apparently also had robotic assist, that’s pretty cool!

Hi Cellbell,
It helped me once I talked to the surgeon too. He has been doing sleeves for 14 years and never lost a patient during surgery and we talked about laparoscopic procedures in general and what to expect for this type of surgery. It did help ease my mind. Following all the pre and post op instructions are key as well so if you are ready and committed, you can do it. Comparing that to doing nothing and living with declining health and multiple health issues adding up, tired of feeling like crap, tired of not taking care of myself, tired of taking so many medications, tired of being tired - I just had to when I laid out the pros and cons. My surgery date is 12/3. Good luck to you in your journey.

I'm only allowed liquids and up to 5 cups of green non starchy vegetables (green Beans and broccoli). My sleeve surgery is scheduled for 12/2, but with all the beds being taken at hospitals, I'm anxious to see if they cancel my, or anyone's surgeries.
Wow I know that’s nerve wracking! I’m monitoring everything while trying not to make myself crazy. Hope it works out for both of us!!!

That’s awesome. I was saving to use them as self pay when my insurance changed and started covering the sleeve this year. Interested to hear how it goes!

Hi new here and sleeve surgery date is 12/3. Almost a year to get everything done and approved. Day 4 of my pre op diet which is mostly liquid. I’m allowed an Atkins style meal for dinner. It’s been interesting so far. But looking forward to the bigger picture and new start.

I had a lot of gas pain took some gas x and walked more frequently and that helped. Got a Protein Shake and cup of Decaf down yesterday and was feeling pretty good all day. Pain is minimal and I haven’t taken anything since Saturday morning, it was just Tylenol. I’m on full liquids until post op appointment. Surgery was 12/3.
