  1. During the first few days, I drank a lot of clear Protein drinks. They're not thick like shakes, they're more like Crystal Light but fortified with protein. They were helpful because they gave me both hydration and protein.

  2. Had surgery yesterday and should be discharger by 4pm today. Overall Im good but that excess medical gas is rough. Couldn't really get comfortable last night and ended up walking a ton. Just passed my swallow test and finally (after just about 48 hrs of NPO) got a meal tray. Single bite of orange popsicle and a few sips of Water, and Im full. That is gonna take some getting used to :)

  3. So my surgery is on Thursday, and Im on day 2 of my pre op clear liquid diet. I have made and eaten so much Jello and chicken broth, but im still so hungry. Plus the rest of my family has to eat and stuff that normally wiuld just be ok smells and looks like a meal at a 5 star restaurant. Any suggestions on what other Clear Liquids I could have? Or just words of encouragement, cuz im seriously ready to just say screw it, if i feel like crap on day 2 then 2 1/2 more weeks is gonna be hell

  4. So sorry to hear. Is there an extended family member or a close friend who could help out (either by letting your son stay with them or by staying over to help out your wife)? Would it be cheaper to pay someone to stay over the night and day your wife will be home with your son rather than starting over with a new deductible? Sorry things got so complicated, I hope it works out for you.

My mom was gonna stay but with my boy maybe having COVID she wasn't really comfortable especially scine my sister and her babies live with her

  5. My sons teacher is positive for COVID and has to quarentine for 14 days. As of now he is asymptotic and doesn't need to be tested. The original plan for day of surgery was my mom was gonna keep him til my wife gets off work, and then she'd have him that night and the next day. But on the 7th we had a miscarriage due to ectopic pregnancy and she had to have her left tube removed. So she is on lifting restrictions. And my son is 14 months and doesn't walk. So my doc already said that by Monday the 16th i could puck him up carefully. I just have no clue what to do. Probably just cancel it and reschedule, but then my deductible wouldn't be met so my free surgery becomes $2500. Im on a fixed income so no way to afford that . Maybe its just not meant to be

  6. Maybe not appropriate for this group but last night my wife and I suffered our second miscarriage. Not to mention they had to remove her left tube, so now conception might be harder. We have an amazing 1 yr old rainbow baby inbetween, but this still sucks. Everyone is saying to be grateful for what we already have, and we afe, but we still have lost two other children. Plus her 15 month old died in Oct of 2016. Plus everyone doesn't realize that their passings effect me to. Im not showing it and being her rock but it really is crappy. Just needed somewhere to vent a little. If this shouldn't be here then I apologize and will totally it down. Plus Im scheduled for a Sleeve Surgery on 11/12, so I start my Clear Liquids tomorrow. Stress eating has always been an issue for me so im not sure how this'll go. Plus i get cranky when im hungry which is the last thing anyone in my house needs..... ugh i hate this yr
