I eat lots of Protein & complex carbs to build muscle, because that “toned” look is added muscle & you have to lift heavy in order to break down muscle tissue & allow to repair & grow. Good luck to you!!!
Kat2013 I was sleeved October 2020, down 50 lbs to date but I seriously need to do something to tone my body and build muscle. I have no clue where to start. Would you be willing to help a sister out lol. Maybe share a beginners workout routine. You look AMAZING!

Hi everyone, I had gastric sleeve 10/16/20 the day of surgery I weighed 213 5'3", I'm currently 165. I do struggle getting in all of the Protein needed. Does anyone have any protein drink/powder recommendations? The Premier Protein drinks aren't sitting as well with me as they used to. Open to any feedback on what works protein wise for you, including foods. Thanks in advance 🙂

Sleeved 10/16 5'3" starting weight was 213 day of surgery, currently at 165. I also need to find ways to incorporate more Protein and drink more Water. My hair is falling out like crazy, that started about 3 to 4 weeks ago although it does seem to be slowing down a lil bit. My Multivitamin also makes me nauseous so I make sure to take it right before I fall asleep so I sleep it off at night. How's everyone else currently?

I'm pretty similar as well. I try to have a Protein Shake 1st thing in the morning that was I start of with 25-30g of Protein because it's easy to miss the goal. Some days I feel like I'm able to eat a lil more and on others I feel full really fast. My issue is that when I eat the food hurts going down. Not always, but more often then not. Even Fluid hurts sometimes, feels like I'm swallowing a golf ball. My surgeon says that'll go away with time but idk.

I don’t loose weight for like 2 whole weeks one occasion it was 3 weeks then all of a sudden I’ll loose up to 7lbs in one week. So weird, but happy lost 38lbs so far and COUNTING!!!
Wow! That's amazing, congrats. Mine has been kinda wierd as well. I feel like the 1st few weeks was pretty consistent weight loss then the last 3 weeks or so it's been 1-2 lbs per week, which is still good for me... but I just wanted to know if I was at least close to my fellow VSGers and seems like I am thankfully. I love the and COUNTING, that's right 💪👏

Keep up the wonderful effort!
Thank you for the encouraging words 💓

Just wanting to check in and see if my weight loss is average and falling in line with others who've had VSG in October 2020. I had surgery 10/16 starting weight 213, currently at 183. Down 30 lbs. How is everyone doing?

how do y’all lower the noise in other aspects of your life and focus on your surgery ? I’m trying
@Glowup Jess I also had surgery in October (10/16 Sleeve) this was also a concern of mine. Mentally I reminded myself of all of the reasons I chose to go through with surgery and made it about me. I put myself 1st for the 1st time in a long time. I have a family and also care for my grandmother and mother who has cancer. For many years my focus has been my family and still is but I allowed myself to focus on me 1st. We deserve it 😉

I place the chicken in a huge bowl and season it with salt, pepper, a tiny bit of cumin, and lots of garlic powder. I then squeeze in tons of fresh lemon juice, basically until the chicken looks almost submerged in it, and add about 4 gloves of chopped garlic to the mixture. I’ll then leave it overnight and grill it whole then slice it up after that way it retains more juice.< br />
For the salad I use what’s shown in the pic (romaine, low fat feta, black olives, cucumbers, and tomatoes) red onions are usually good in a Greek salad too. For dressing I just used a store bought. I don’t know why but the only dressing I’m super picky with is Greek lol this is the one I use if you were wondering:@MarvelGirl25 Thank you so much for sharing. I'm somewhat of a newbie, had sleeve 10/16. All of your food seriously makes me inspired. While I am going through the 1st 8 weeks taking each week as it comes has been somewhat difficult at times. I'm excited to be able to expand my options and try new recipes. Thank you 😊 💓

Today I decided to try cooking it with the ninja foodi and OMGGGGG sooo good! What a difference! The marinade stuck to the chicken well without burning and the chicken held it’s juice. I think I’m going to be eating this the rest of the week. Tasted just like the spicy chicken thighs from Korean bbq 🍖
Now all I’m missing is some kimchi...
That chicken looks amazing, all of your dishes do lol!

I have only been able to go once every 5-7 days after 3 days of laxatives (Colace with the stimulant) and Miralax. It is not fun. I have only had 4 bm’s since surgery. I am thinking of asking my doc for something stronger. I tried adding magnesium, which usually gets me going immediately, but it hasn’t made a difference yet. I feel bad contacting them all the time, between my allergic reaction to the narcotic, then the lovonox, and now the questionable incision. I feel really good otherwise! Lol
Maybe try the dulcolax, they're tiny pills and worked super fast without any cramping. Sounds like there has been a few hurdles but I am glad you're in good spirits. Hope you get some relief soon.

I also had the same issue. No pain or feelings of Constipation, just simply didn't go. I ended up taking dulcolax pills and went within 2 hrs. Hope that helps. From what I have read, it's pretty normal as our intake is limited. Any longer than 3 days is too long though.

I had VSG on 10/16!
Anyone for October 2020?
in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Hello everyone,
I'm also checking in to see how everyone is doing. I had VSG 10/16/20 with a surgery day weight of 213, today I am 162. My weight loss seems to be slowing down. Is anyone else having this issue or is it just me? I'm not sure if it is the norm but I have only lost 3-4 lbs in the last month. I grateful for that but was used to more weight loss. I must say that I am trying more foods and wonder if that is why the weight loss has slowed. Looking forward to hearing back, be blessed y'all 🙏
