  1. I hope your surgery went well. My BMI is 31 and I'm scheduled for Nov 30th.

    Anyone 30-31 BMI pre op?

If you want to stay in the states I hear that Blossom Bariatrics in NV will do it (I researched and then decided on Mexico). Belite Weight and True You Weightloss are a couple of the places I've seen on these forums where people have gone. Edited to say that my BMI is 31 and I'm scheduled for Nov 30th.

    LOW BMI MGB?

I have literally 50 pounds to lose (BMI 31) and "only 50lbs" is not ONLY to people with that much to lose. Although I don't have the medical necessity, I have a lot in common with my fellow sleevers when it comes to my history with weight loss, etc. The decision was not taken lightly either. I'm scheduled on Nov 30th and even though I'm nervous, I've been living with a steady weight gain and failed experiences in the past, I want to live a more fulfilling life without some of the lifestyle limitations and medical issues that could potentially be down the road.
  4. My BMI is 31 and my insurance won't cover the surgery. I was really looking into just doing out-of-pocket somewhere here in the states (Blossom quoted me $15K, my local hospital wouldn't even consider me without insurance EVEN with evidence of payment--shrug). I ended up going with Pompeii Surgical in Mexico and I'm scheduled for Nov 30th. Go to the "Mexico" forums to get a lot of feedback and suggestions. I looked into 3 places in Mexico and settled on this one because of the resort & spa vs a hotel room. I am nervous in general but felt like a beachside spa with several massages would help calm my nerves.

    Anyone November 2020

I thought my surgery was going to be in Dec, but they only had Nov 30th available. So here I am. I'm nervous but excited.

    Mexico bariatric center

I'm glad you mentioned COVID because it seems that no one is talking about it. I just got off the phone with Pompeii Surgical Center and they confirmed that they DON'T have private accommodations which means patients traveling with a companion will be staying with another patient and their companion (common spaces). Big sigh. They were my first choice and now I'm not so sure.
