Not sure if this was on purpose or not, but what a great idea for those on the pre-op diet! EMPTY YOUR FRIDGE.
Like @WishMeSmaller indicated above, the hungry feels will likely go away in about 3 days. If you can hold out 1 more day, you will be golden. AND if you keep doing exactly what you are doing, by the end of 7 days you could be pleasantly surprised with what the scale will tell you...which could give you the extra batteries and motivation to make it all the way to surgery day. ❤️
    Good Luck!

My surgeon said to drink another shake if you are extremely hungry...no limits on shakes for my surgeon.

Here is my platitude for you: it gets better after 3-4 days. Sorry! 😂
I had no energy during the two week pre-op diet, but THE HUNGER did fade after the first few days.

Hang in there. It is worth it. Positive vibes heading back at you!

I believe in therapy and have used it whenever something comes up in my life that is hard (i.e losing my husband, closure of a large plant that I worked at and my Mom). Mother daughter relationships can be complicated and once you add addiction to the mix it gets downright hard. I highly suggest Al-Anon because of your Mom's addiction but I also think OA wouldn't hurt. Try a few meetings. I also think that food addiction is part of the reason I am the weight I am. One therapist said to me "If someone pushes your buttons......move your buttons" Whenever I was going through a particularly hard time with my Mother I distanced myself, not as a punishment for her but as survival mode for me. Through the years I discovered that my Mom had NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder) and this helped tremendously. Although she was never diagnosed by a Doctor I worked with my Doctor to see how I could still love my Mom yet work on myself. Your work is your work and her work is her work and we are all at different levels of maturity (not age) but emotional maturity. Do your own work. Focus on yourself and hopefully you will be out of the house soon. When things get tough inside the house............go outside for a walk....go visit a friend...go walking with a friend.
I wish you success on your journey

    Hi Everyone,
My surgery is on Nov. 10th and I have started my liquid diet. It's Day 2 and I never though I would get through Day 1 without eating my arm off! I was sooooooo hungry. I had a headache (I took tylenol) and I went to bed early to try and sleep through the hunger. I don't know how many times I opened the fridge door and stared inside. The funny thing is there is next to no food in there but ...........mannn.......I could have eaten anything!
I'm glad Day 1 is over with. I've had my first shake this morning and I'm drinking coffee and Water. I am currently working from home because of the pandemic. I'm trying to keep my mind on my work but as you can see I'm here and sharing. I'm sure today will be easier than yesterday.
I'm sending positive vibes out to all of you...wherever you are in your journey. Be kind to yourself!

I'm scheduled for Nov.2. So far I purchased 2oz plastic cups with lids so I can make and freeze small portions of pureed foods and broths. I also got some plastic medicine cups to portion out liquids. I see my surgeon next week for my pre-op visit and will learn what kind of diet I'll be on before hand. I also bought one of those medication organizers so I can track of which Vitamins to take daily. This weekend I'm going to make a big batch of beef broth to freeze.

    Hi Ladies,
This is what I have done to get ready so far.
    1) Purchased my pre-op liquid diet shakes called Optifast and I will be starting them on Oct. 19th
    2) Bought the required Vitamin supplements recommended by my bariatric team for the 1st two months after surgery.
    3) Purchased Premiere Protein for my Liquid Protein supplement for after surgery
    4) Purchased a small single serve blender "Ninga Bullet" to help me with making my shakes yummy and my pureed food yummy (I'm hoping)
    5) I'm telling my office on Oct 19th that I will be having surgery on the 10th of November
    6) Joined a very local WLS group so I can connect with people in person. I think I am going to initiate some group walk events so we can meet outside safely. We are in a rural area so that will be easy for us.
    That's it so far....

    Hiya!
My surgery is November 10th and I started my journey in August of 2019. I can't believe it's (surgery) is finally getting close! I start my liquid diet 3 weeks prior to surgery so on October 19th. I'm prepped and ready to go. It has been an extensive process to get to this point. I'm in Canada so things are a bit different here than in the states. I wish you the best of luck on your journey!
