    Food Diary/Journals

I do it electronically on Lose It. I think everyone has their favorite app or method.

    Deep Armpits

Same issue here. Not something I ever thought about happening 😯
  3. Things I bought or had and still use: Good blender. I still have a shake every morning. I use Fairlife skim milk, a scoop of powder and blend with ice. I love the frothy consistency. Cheap food scale, measuring spoons, measuring cups: I weight or measure everything. Smaller sized plastic containers: What I take for lunch is now smaller. Scale. Things I never used: 2 oz. disposable containers. Blender/shaker cup. Get enough protein shakes/powder and vitamins to get you through your immediate recovery but don't over do it. You may find your tastes change or you need different things.
  4. I am officially overweight with a BMI of 29.8! Started at a BMI of 53 at my HW and 46 at SW.

    Adding protein drinks

I was just going to ask about this. I was part of a Zoom follow-up meeting yesterday where we were reminded that we can absorb 20-30g of protein at a time. Was anyone told differently?

    Fish for pureed/mushy stages?

My program said to "use caution" with anything more than 3 grams of sugar per serving. But programs vary. FWIW, I ate the sweet & spicy tuna before I checked the sugar 🤦‍♂️. It was good. How would you make your balsamic reduction? It sounds good.

    Adding semaglutide

Not exactly your circumstance....I was on Victoza. When I first started on Victoza, I lost about 30 lbs. over 6 months. Most of it from nausea and some reduced appetite. The appetite reduction went away. I stayed on Victoza after starting my weight loss prep program and lost about another 20 lbs. That was mostly from healthier eating. Blood sugars were decent. I stopped all diabetic meds on the day of my surgery in December 2020. Have lost 110 since surgery. Sugars remain good.

    Fish for pureed/mushy stages?

You may want to check the sugar content in sweet and spicy tuna/fish. Some have had more sugar per serving than my program suggests.

Trying to figure out pre-op diet

My protein drink of choice is Walmart's Equate brand powder. I blend it (as in actually make it in the blender) with 8 oz. of Fairlife Skim milk and ice. It blends up foamy and stays that way. I like it that way rather than thin. Pre-made shakes seem to work for coffee creamer. But protein powders added to hot liquid form clumps.
  10. Gotcha 🙂 Smaller sips would be a better suggestion. I'm not sure how long swelling lasts. But I would imagine it is a while. You had major surgery.
  11. I agree with Catwoman, that it doesn't sound like dumping. But it definitely sounds as if ramen noodles don't agree with you. I have not found anything that relieves what you are describing other than actually vomiting it out. Also, as Catwoman said, vomiting now doesn't involve the stomach acid and unpleasant taste of the past. It's not fun, but it does relieve what you are feeling.
  12. You may not be eating slowly enough or chewing thoroughly. Make sure your bites are small. Your stomach is still healing and swollen. Give it time.

    Hot cocoa - Swiss Miss

I bought it for after surgery.
  14. I remind myself that I need to "make good decisions and healthy choices" each day. The choices are not always perfect but they are always progress.
  15. Everything that @JDLane is accurate. Are you not working with a surgeon/team/or program?

    Salads

I tried a salad a about 6 weeks. Things to keep in mind: Don't let salad fill you up and take the place of needed protein. Chew VERY well. Lettuce isn't something we're used to chewing.

    Frustrated

Your weight mgmt. program will want you to be in good health prior to an elective surgery. Diabetes that is not well-controlled will lead to poor healing.
  19. I was given sugar free popsicles, sugar free jello, protein shakes and broth.
  20. I ordered a scale and food scale from Walmart. Nothing special, but inexpensive and does the trick. Of course, nothing links to anything else. But I'm not all that technologically savvy so it probably doesn't matter. I use LoseIt to track.

    Feeling down

116 lbs. ago you were probably desperate to be where you are now. Don't lose sight of what you have accomplished.

    Driver's License

Probably even more funny is that I’m basically unrecognizable in the picture AND the description. In addition to weight loss, I also stopped coloring my hair. So weight is wrong, hair color is wrong and the picture is over 8 years old (Due to the pandemic, I renewed it last year without having to appear in person) Good thing I won’t get carded for alcohol 😜😜

    Rant: The Word I Hate

I hate the word "pouch." There, I've said it. I feel better now. Yes, I know doctors use the word. No, I don't have a better word. I just don't like it.🤣
