Shedding post holiday weight
Hi all! Looking for any good tips and tricks to start back losing pounds. My surgery date was 10/7/20. I am 143 and my goal is 128 by May 2021. I ate small amounts of about everything over the holidays and drank my fair share of wine/liquor. I was able to maintain my weight in December so I didn’t gain but no loss I am back to eating much fewer carbs and trying to get my water and protein in properly. Don’t scream at this part— I also take phentermine so it can take any hunger feelings away. I haven’t had any negative side effects from it before and none this time as well. I only plan to use it to help get to my goal.

So. Much. Burping.
3 months post op and my burping is insane. I mean very bad. Even worse at night. My doc said he has seen more burping in lower BMI patients. He tells me it will subside one day. I also had a small hernia

Lethargic at 4 weeks post op
There are some days when my tank runs completely out of gas. Most days actually. I am in the purée stage. I am thinking maybe I need to add the genepro protein to all of my foods. I am have the MOST difficultly getting lots of water in. It’s like by the time I drink, it’s time to eat, and my stomach doesn’t have enough space for the water 20 minute later. I used to try to drink most my fluids at night but sometimes I fall asleep. I am taking the multivitamin daily. I try to go on 20 minute walks 3 days a week because I certainly don’t want to lose my stamina for exercise later. I am 156lbs. And I have stalled there for 2 weeks. I am 4 weeks post op. Anyone else feeling lethargic??

Anyone 30-31 BMI pre op?
I have major issues with belching. My doctor said it is more typical in smaller patients with low BMI. Yes, I am in the purée stage now. I have to admit. Do do plenty of soups. Some creame based which I should probably cut back. I also eat small pieces of chicken tenders and shrimp but I chew them up to mush to be sure it digest well. I am sure my stall will pass eventually. I was told the weight loss would be slower with a lower BMI. I am still proud of my 20lbs. I bet my body is just trying to adjust to everything.

Confession: chewing food
I am sure this is not good practice in the immediate days post op when the stomach is healing most. However, I am almost three weeks post op now. I still do it and find it helpful. I will lick a Taki or chew a pepperoni and spit it out. It actually helps with the in the moment cravings and I don’t even consume it

Purees!!!
Today is my first day of purée. I put chicken salad in the blender. I have had tomato soup from Panera bread restaurant. I have Brunswick stew that I will purée.

Confession: chewing food
Oh gee. My doctor did not warn against it. I will try not best to refrain from it because things have went so well thus far and I don’t want to ruin anything!!! Purée food is only 6 days away so I will try to hold on.

Confession: chewing food
Hey all. I have a confession- I am 8 days post op and on the liquid diet. Yesterday and today my family had pepperoni pizza and I took a pepperoni off, chewed it up, then spit it in the trash. It’s like I just wanted the taste. Today I chewed up half a chicken nugget to get the taste or chicken then I spit it out. has anyone done this? I need to stop, I know. I am looking forward to the puree stage so I can have variety of tastes

She said I could If I remained active and walked, so I did. Today’s makes a full week since surgery and I have lost 9 lbs. I am a low BMI I hope to keep going down I wear a waist trainer daily I even took it with me on surgery day it has been super helpful it helps to hold my midsection together so there is not too much jiggle it helps at night when I have to get out of bed so I don’t have to strain i have been sleeping upright at night it has been uncomfortable sleeping on my side and it helps with the ton of gas I have

Anyone for October 2020?
I am 1 week post op. So far so good. I read that if you can make it through the first 3 days you would be fine and I agree. No complications so far. I have been eating the Premier Protein shakes, 2 ounces 6 times a day. I set the timer on my phone to remind me. I have not gotten 48-64 ounces of water each day because it I hard with the small sips. I do keep the water bottle by my side and drink at night because I do not want to get dehydrated. I did not have a bowel movement because one of the pain meds causes constipation. I called the nurse and she told me to takes Phillips Milk of Magnesia. It worked great. The only other thing I would add is that I stayed ahead of the pain, taking my pain meds every 4 hours. I was also walking from the first day until now. I have TERRIBLE belching. I have been taking chewable Gas X at night

Any October Sleevers?
I got my sleeve done yesterday. Everything has gone smoothly thus far. I have experienced a lot of air bubbles and pressure in my chest. I have been walking around my house and yard to help release it. Last night I had to sleep upright in the bed to help with the gas in my chest. I am staying ahead of the pain by taking meds so I haven’t felt any excruciating pain yet 5 incisions on my belly
