What is the rudest thing someone has said to you?!?!
Bloo I am no relationship expert, that's for sure but every Oprah show that deals with the onset of abusive relationships start that way. Please do not let him crush your self esteem. No one should be treated that way. Emotional abuse and physical abuse are not acceptable. Diane

People are just MISERABLE.
I told my husband what happend and he asked why i didnt take a picture. I was in shock and never thought of it. I stood there a long time after trying to process what happened!

People are just MISERABLE.
Some people will try to steal anything! My husband is disabled and on the back of our car we have a wheelchair carrier. I have long red ribbon tied on to it so no one trips over it. (the only idiot who ever did was me!) I was at the grocery store and as I walked out I noticed a lady with three little kids standing by the back of my car. As I got closer I saw she was trying to untie the ribbon (it is dirty and frayed from blowing in the wind) I causally asked her what she was doing and she said her little boy loved the ribbon and wanted it!! I calmly said it is to make sure no one trips over the carrier. She laughed and kept trying to unknot it. That's when I yelled get away from my car NOW. She laughed some more. I yelled nice going teaching your kids to steal! She still didnt move. When I popped the trunk and pulled out my cell phone she looked at me and said sorry and walked away laughing. I must have stood there for 5 minutes in disbelief! Yes some people are are are well I just cant come up with a word to describe them!

Jill, when my Mom said that to me I just replied SO NICE TO SEE YOU TOO MOM. People who have never had a weigh problem just think losing weight is easy. If it was so easy it wouldnt be a billion dollar industry. Our weight does not define who we are. We just have to remember that and be good to ourselves....easier said than done..

Like everyone I have had my share of nasty comments but the most hurtfull was when I went back east to see my Mom who I had not seen in 3 years. Her Very FIRST words to me were (not hello, not i have missed you but) BOY DID YOU GET FAT AGAIN.

Have i already screwed myself??
ebth, I am not banded yet but I will say NO NO NO if you promise to yell at me when I need it. Please follow your doctors direction! We are all in this for the same reason we must get Healthy! Now put it behind you and start again. My very best wishes.

Last Supper
I am still in the beginning stages of my lapband process and have already thought about a "farewell to food tour"! Try to keep telling myself this is not the right attitude to have to start a new life style but somehow I keep mapping out my restaurant tour.

Hello!
Lauren, good luck to you. It very well may be your answer so you dont end up like me 57 years old with your health at risk. Just make sure you read everything you can about the procedure and ask every question that comes to mind. May I ask how much you weigh now? Even at 15 your health can be in jeopardy. Make sure your doctor is sympathetic to your needs. Wishing you all the best.

Richard Simmons Sweatin to the Oldies
Love that tape and love Richard!! About a year ago my son ran into Richard at a tanning place in LA. He was very approchable and talked to every one. My son told him he has been trying to get me to lose weight for years. Richard took my phone number and called me! Like everyone he speaks to I cried. He asked me how much i weighed. At that time I weighed 229. He told me if I didnt do something soon I would be 250 ( today I am 247  ) He was very kind and sent me an encouraging letter and the tape! I will bring it back out tomorrow and start again! Good luck to you and thanks for bringing back my memory!

Very sad, amd, upset, & confused
I am sorry to hear you are going through all this and applaud your efforts to lose the wait but please please do not hurt your self by not getting the proper nutrients. Take the fluid pills only if your doctor tells you to. You can deplete potassium and can have a heart attack or stroke. Starving is never the answer. Best of luck to you.

Soda soda soda
Not laughing as a kid I did the same thing with grape juice. I havent thought about it in years! I am very diet soda addicted. 8-10 cans a day. I do not have my surgery date yet but have been trying to cut back. I have let diet Dr Pepper go flat by letting stand and stirring. With a lot of ice it is not too bad. Giving up diet soda will be harder than giving up ice cream and believe me I think every extra pound I carry is ice cream! Good luck and thank all of you for your input on this subject. I am glad the question was asked.

Questions for doctor (what would you ask if you could do it again?)
I had my consultation yesterday. My Dr. and staff were fantastic. He addressed just about everything before I could ask. No one in the office rushed me. I suggest just take your list and ask away. Make sure you are not rushed and feel good about the Dr. Nothing is worse than having one that wont listen to you. Good luck! Hope your experience is as good as mine was!

Bcbs
I have horizon BC & BS of NJ and always fight with them. I am sure your surgeon received approval from them. Call his office and get all the approval info and go back to BC BS. I really dont think the bs stands for blue shield!

Being Physical Challenging
Many many years (45) ago before exercise was known as a major help recuperating my Dad had a major heart attach. His doctor did not want him to do anything stressful. His chiropractor insisted that he start walking. He started walking from the back door to the front of the house a couple times a day. Then he would increase less than a half a block at time. In three months he was walking 5 miles a day and never had a heart problem after that. Remember baby steps little by little. Good luck and be proud of each step you take!

Cigarrettes anyone???
Anyone who blows smoke in your face is NOT your friend. Are they going to shove pizza in your face too. I would rethink that friendship. You are NOT the bitch they are. Good luck and remember how healthy you are going to be very soon.

I'm P'ed OFF
I understand exactly what you are saying. I have been quietly researching the band for months and finally made my appointment for next week. My grown sons flipped out. They know how I have struggled for years but feel I should be able to do it on my own. If I could I would not have spent thousand of dollars to loss weight in the past and not keep it off. I even worked for a weight loss company. I need this tool and was so upset that they didnt support me. My one son said he was disappointed in me and that hurt me more than I can say. All that being said we have to do what we have to do. What is great is that we have this wonderful site for support. Good luck I am sure you and I will be successful inspite of them!

Hi, I am excited to get started with my lap band however I ran into a very disappointing and upsetting situation with my kids. Both in their 30's and had a very negative reaction to my decision! They just dont understand why i cant do it on my own. Having yo yoed over 20 times in my life I feel I need this help to make a permeant change. Anyone else have a problem with family?:confused2:
