  2. Hey kate, just wanted to see how you are doing in the long term. seems like most people on here are newbies. glad to talk to a few who have had the band for a while. I am real curious about the long term of it. thanks hope to hear from you soon, famrika

  3. you have had your lap band since 7/26/04 , wow i was just wondering how you do with it in the long term. do you still have to have it checked? are you able to eat normally? does it ever bother you? are you gaining back any of your weight or maintaining without difficulty? sorry for all the questions , but i am very curious about the long term and you are the first one i have found . thanks for your help , famrika:rolleyes2:

You may have some swelling due to the fill. Or you simply might just be filled too tight.

If you can't get liquids down, you probably need to have some of your fill removed.

  4. I must say your words have been very incouraging and i thank you all for listening and taking the time to respond. I will be on my own if and when i do this so having the web site will help. I live near vincennes in a very small town wheatland i go through jasper and shoals twice a month for work. nice to meet someone so close with the same experiences. it would be nice to hear from someone who had the surgery a yr . or so ago , and see how they are doing in the long term. thanks again to everyone and keep peddleing hoosierpoms, and best of luck to your daughter.

congrats on getting your date, and making such a great move!!!

I live about 45 min from Bloomington, and I go to Fishers for my fills. I am doing pretty good, and you know.....feeling good again is worth all the waiting we did to get to the surgery!!!

    best of luck,

    Traci

  5. Hi, Jen

I am one month out tomorrow, and I can say I feel great. I am eating reg. foods now, just a whole lot less. I have not even had a major craving for anything. I pretty much gave up bread, just scared to try it, I don't want to be in pain if it gets stuck or something. I eat out just like before, but not near the amount that I used to. I am down 17 lbs as of today and the inches are really starting to show. I went from at size 26w 28w in pants and now am in a 22w 24w. I take a prenatal vitamen everyday and still drink a Protein shake about every other day. I am going to start working out this week, so real happy about that. I am planning on staring out with walking and swimming, then plan to move up to strenght training and Water aerobics. I have been lucky and not struggling with mind hunger so far, but I am sure it will come in its boughts. I am trusting in myself and God to help me throught it all. Best of luck to you and please feel free to keep me updated and ask any questions that you need to. I will help in any way I can.
