  1. best of luck Bluesam. I hope you are able to get some rest tonight. The waiting right before in pre-op holding can seem like forevah! You will do great and soon you will be banded like us!

paige did you get another fill?

Tova you are still waiting for some time to pass right?

I was going to call for a fill but had some bad heartburn for like over week despite using Prilosec 2x a day. thankfully thats gone but then I twisted my left knee :mad2:. I miss going to the gym

    Hi everyone!

Tiny~I know how you feel about the gym. I just got my tredmill & first I was sick (had to go to ER for IV fluids) took me a few days to get back to normal. NOW my back is acting up again! Hurts when I breathe! I have issues w. my feet too! :) I wore a pair of boots w/ a small heel sat night & my toes have been numb since then! They are getting better but WTF!!!

    Blue~ I hope you are doing well!:scared2:

Paige~ sounds like your pretty uncomfortable. Hope it gets better for you too.

    Tova_Hang in there girl!!!!!

  2. Hello Everyone. I hope you are all doing well and kicking butt!

Tomorrow's the big day for me at The Brigham. I don't have my surgery time yet. I will find out when I call tonight between 3-6:30pm. Not really nervous........yet.

Met with Dr. Robinson yesterday to go over any last minute questions etc. I am down 32 lbs. since my initial consult on 11/9, so I am pleased with that.

Any last words of advice from some of the vets out there?

BTW - Paige, we were both at The Faulkner yesterday. I was going to say Hello but didnt want to come off as a creepy forum stalker of some sort since we've never met before. I was sitting across from you in the waiting room while you were talking to the older gentleman that just had his procedure.

Blue~ GOOD LUCK!!! Keep us posted!!!! Your on your way!!!

  3. I appreciate both opinions and I am gonna try to keep the mindset that I have right now. I am finally excercising and enjoying it (Turbo Jam DVD's) and I am going to take it one meal at a time and my plan is to shoot for 900-1000 calories a day concentrating on more protien than anything else. For me its truely a mind game! Good luck to everyone..including myself...I'll keep you posted!:smile2:

    :thumbup:YOU GO!!!!!:)

  4. Wow Heidi you sound exactly like me! I was banded in Dec 08 and only lost 40ish pounds then got off the bandwagon. Now since January of this year I am "back on" and I am trying to figure out how to make this weight come off! Ive been excercising for the first time in my life and counting calories every day since January 2nd and I have only lost like 9 pounds. Frustrated I went to my surgeon today for a fill and she declined because she said I was "loosing some weight" so my band was fine. Now she is pushing no carb and lots of Protein diet or Meal Replacement shakes...what are you doing to keep it going??? I am more serious today than I was when I put my band in and I need some friendly advice from somone in my shoes. Any advice will be appreicated.

    Thanks,

    Danielle

    Hi Danielle!

Yes, it sounds like we have about tthe same story :-).

I agree w/ your doc.....I think your doing well! 9 lbs in 2 months is great!!!! We all want the weight to FLY off but it's not gonna! :smile2: Sounds like your doing awesome!

  5. I know how you feel. I had sugery sept 25 2008 lost 40 ish lbs in the first 6 months. Then didn't lose again for like another 7 months. I just couldn't get the motivation again. I felt like I was failing my band. Just in the last few months I started getting serious again * losing again FINALLY!!! I started measuring my food again & counting my cals w/ daily plate .com. You have to plan! Make food ahead if you have to. The bottom line is nobody can MAKE us do this. It sucks but we have to do it all ourselves. HTH!

  6. It is very hard to eat the right foods......I know. Nobody can really tell you what is wrong w/ you. You should just insist that your doc checks things again. Does yyour doc know that your over eating ect? You must be honest. I hope you get this figured out. For now you should try to stick w/ your plan & see if that does the trick. :-)

  7. Hey there! We've all been there when we fall of the wagon. The point is you gotta get back on....before you gain more!!!! I have been banded over 1 yr & was stuck at a loss of 40-45 lbs for about 7 months. I felt like i had failed & I wouldn't find my motivation again. I HAVE!!! I am losing again!!! You have to stay in touch w/ your doc & on this sit too. Like another person said, Protein 1st!!! Wishing you happier times & weightloss!!! :-)

  8. chicken Stroganoff

I usually cook all day while at work about 8 hours, chicken just falls apart. I serve it to my family over egg noodles or rice and they love it.

My kids love this over rice!

I made the Chicken Stroganoff it was very good! My whole family LOVED it! Chicken was very moist & I didn't even cook it the full 8 hrs. Tasted like it was full fat & very rich but it's low fat. Was a bit salty but I l;ike salty! YUMMM YUMM Thanks for this one!

  9. well, I'm still hanging in there~ still losing. Even though I have had to go to lost of parties (FOOD) lately. My daughters bday, my bday , valentines, ect.....

I'm still in the game!!! How are you all doing???

PS-only 2 lbs to go to hit my goal for feb to get into 160's!!!! EXCITED!!! People have been noticing my recent weightloss too. :-)

  10. This is so easy, I feel like I'm cheating when I make it.

Wrap a half a pack of bacon in papertowels making sure they lay flat and don't overlap and put on a plate. Microwave until crisp. (You can cook them on the stove, but I usually do this super quick in the morning before work so I have something when I get home. I find the microwave way easier as far as clean up is concerned).

While that is in the microwave, in a crock pot, add one can of cheddar cheese Soup, one can of potatoes (you can use diced or the little round ones), and one can of cream of chicken soup. Use one of the empty cans as a "measuring cup" of sorts. Add a "can" of heavy whipping cream and two "cans" of milk. Add a bag of seasoning blend, you know, the frozen onion and bell pepper blend. Just put it in there frozen. If you have any on hand, add parsley flakes for color; chopped pimentos make it pretty, too. Crumble cooked bacon in soup mixture and give it a good stir with a spoon. Put your crock pot on low and it'll be ready when you come home from work. For company, you can serve it with grated cheddar cheese, green onions, and/or sour cream on top.

Also, try substituting the potatos and bacon with crab and frozen spinach or mushrooms and ham or left over turkey and macaroni. It'll be yummy... promise.

This sounds really good! How do i figure out the cals though. I think I may substitute w/ low fat Soups.

  11. I have seen pork butt cooked on cooking shows & it always looks soooo yummmmy. So, I saw one in the grocery store the other day & grabbed it.

    -pork butt 5-8 lbs

-rub w/ brown sugar, garlic powder, pepper, few splashes soysauce.

-BBQ sauce (Sweet Baby Rays Honey BBQ Sauce I like) in bottom of crockpot.

-put pork in POT add more bbq & coat pork.

i only put sauce about 1/2 way up pork did not have to cover.

    COOK LOW 10-12 hrs.

I am cooking as we speak & it spells & looks mouth watering good!!!

I'll have 4-5oz myself. my family will have pulled pork sandwiches w/ the extra bbq sauce. I may have bread too. the meat is just falling apart & so tender.
