If you are eating 3 cups of food a day and not drinking your calories plus working out that much, you are doing so awesome! You probably need about 1800-2000 calories a day or so maintain so if you cut down on the calories you eat, and then are exercising that much, you will be in a negative calorie balance and lose weight.
You don't have to exercise to lose weight if your calorie intake has been reduced. The exercise will make the weight come off faster...and of course its good for you in many other ways!
You are doing awesome!

Do not worry about it any more. If it got stuck you would know it so you will be just fine! Also,if you had something stuck and started drinking Water, that is not so great as the water will just come back up.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

I have been exercising regularly but I have issues with my tummy. I go to Jazzercise and my cardio is improving and I want to jump around and do the high impact but it is so uncomfortable with my fat tummy. Does anyone else have this problem? I have a pair of Spanx but don't want to wear them to work out. Are there any brands of workout pants that have a high waisted control top? Any suggestions? Thanks!

That is so great. You must feel fantastic!

Hmmm...maybe it is taking so long because I am in Canada.

For me it was seeing Oprah gain her weight back yet again and if she can't do it, who can? My mom died of cancer quite young and was obese, my dad has diabetes and I was plain sick of feeling bad and ashamed and being on every diet under the sun. I was sick of always being the fattest in the room.

I've heard about that Tough Mudder! Sounds like a huge challenge. What is the couch to 5K i keep hearing about? Is it a running program? I am allergic to running but thought I would ask. I was interested in running once so I went to the library and got a book about it...seriously!
The things I like about exercising are the calories I burn, the increased energy I have when I do it regularly and the sense of accomplishment when you find yourself getting stronger or faster. I also like the buffer it provides if you aren't eating perfectly!
Last year I trained and did a 240 km bike ride over two days with my husband and about 2800 other people to raise money for cancer research. There is no way on this earth I could have even considered it if I hadn't had my band. I am still so happy to have it!

Hi again,
I was banded in June 2008. Time sure flies when you are having fun! I am very pleased with my band and so grateful to have it. I have been on a plateau for several months and am in the middle of a 5 day pouch challenge to get back on track. I have set new goals and I want to get a Tummy Tuck in September, which means I need to be at goal weight. So I just plod along, singing my song. I am also training to do the cycling portion of a triathlon in June so that is a great motivator. Well, fear is a great motivator for me!

Congratulations on your success Melisa. Sounds like you are doing great! Thanks for sharing!

Just keep tracking and be diligent with your band rules. If you are hungry and need a fill go back for a tiny fill in 2 weeks. You were too tight before. Try not to panic. You can do this!

HOnk, that sounds good! I will try your little concoction! Thanks!

Here's me:

Lost 85 pounds then gained 20 after an unfill
Recommitted and getting back on track
Exercising 4 times per week but need to do more
Training for the cycling portion of a small triathlon in June
Have been on a plateau for many months.

I too have had 0.2 taken out before and it made a huge difference.

I stay away from raw carrots. I had to learn the hard way. Most everything else is fine...chew, chew, chew!

Another really good "pizza" is made with a portobella mushroom cap instead of a crust. It may sound gross but it is delicious and very satisfying.

For me it would be dangerous territory to get an unfill before a vacation, however in your case you can't get real food down without having trouble. That is a problem. Being unable to eat solids in the morning is perfectly normal for a bandster. You should be able to eat small amounts of solid Protein during the day and it does sound like you are too tight. Maybe a tiny unfill would be a good idea. Just don't "go to town" on your vacation. I was able to go on a 12 day cruise and I lost weight by sticking to small amounts of healthy food. I made sure to exercise daily to counter act the pina coladas! Airplane cabins are pressurized so I don't think that should affect your band. I am curious about that though.

You are truly amazing and your success is an inspiration. Congratulations!

I know someone who left her band too tight for too long and it eroded. If you can't eat, that is too tight. Consider going for a tiny unfill. Good luck!

Everyone's journey only belongs to them. We are all so different. I know what you mean but try and focus on yourself and don't let the negative creep in. Easier said than done!

I didn't tell many people before I had it as i didn't want their advice or opinions. After i got my band I felt like shouting it off the roof tops. I think almost everyone knows except funnily enough my personal trainer. I started seeing him about a year ago and I didn't tell him at the beginning and now I feel weird that I haven't told him. It is not like it is a big secret but I just feel funny that i didn't bring it up in the beginning. it has no impact on what we do so i probably won't tell him ever.Every single person i have told has been so supportive. It is definitely a personal choice as some people that don't understand and will judge us.

I actually did have a hernia repair that my surgeon fixed during my surgery and apparently it is not uncommon. Maybe it won't be a fib?

Hello. I am getting close to my goal and am considering a lower body lift when i get to goal. I understand there is numbness after a lower body lift and i am wondering how much and how it affects you. Any info you have would be most appreciated. Also, how much weight did you lose after the body lift? Thanks!
