    I can't stop!!!!

If I were having problems like that, I would have a little bit of an unfill ASAP. Also, try Atkins shakes, They should stay down fine and are better for you than the Dunkin Donuts stuff. And, STEP AWAY FROM THE CHEETOS. Throw them away. Toss them out.

    Where, oh where is Telly??

Telly- Glad you haven't left. You are an inspiration. Don't let the crap get you down. There are many people here who appreciate and value what you have to say .

    Help! Is this normal

I have a lot of pressure and some mild soreness, but nothing like that. I would call them.

    Flip a Coin?

The fact is that WAY fewer complications arise from the lap band. Period. The nation wide surgical group that my surgery center belongs to has NEVER had one serious complications out of THOUSANDS of surgeries. I don't understand why people feel the need to come put us lap bandsters in our place. What do you get out of it???? :confused:What's the pay off? Why do you feel the need to treat us all like children and "tell us how things really are" ?? We aren't stupid little children. Most of us have done our research and know exactly what we have gotten ourselves into.

    May 2006 Band Crew

Good luck to the last of the May bandsters today!!! It's not bad at all. I'm 5 days out and feeling great! If you are near Dallas and have an Inamed band, Dr. Jayaseelan will fill Mexican bands. You might also try SCOR (The Surgery Center of Richardson.) They fill under fluro and may do Mexican patients. I do know for sure that Dr. Jay does though. Just Google Dr. Jayaseelan Medical City. It should come up immediately.

    Is this bad?

DON'T CHEAT!!!! You have to show yourself that you are ready for this by making the commitment to stick to the diet. If you can't stick to it, then you may not be seriously ready for the commitment to come. I promise, if you just stick to it, it gets better after a few days. You stop thinking about food. You stop being so hungry. You have to test your resolve now for the period after the band.

    May 2006 Band Crew

Hey guys!! Just checking in. I had surgery Friday and all is going well. I'm still a little sore, but I'm managing. I'm off the pain meds since yesterday and finally starting to have a small appetite.

    Starbucks habit

Mmm. A girl after my own heart. Light Frappacinnos are better than regular to me. I say 1x a week is reasonable.

    IUD anyone?

The Mirena DOES have hormones that are released locally rather than systemically. It does decrease bleeding in the majority of women. I went from flooding red blood with huge clots b4 IUD to a mild brown discharge that barely warrants a panty liner post IUD. Now the copper IUD will make you bleed more. I wouldn't get one of those. Mirenas are the ones that rock.

    IUD anyone?

I have a Mirena and LOVE it. It only hurts slightly more than an annual to have it inserted. You might also be crampy for a few days afterward, but then you forget all about it. AF is WAY lighter after a few months. It is SO convenient. I wouldn't trade mine for the world.

    Okay, I'm Scared-

Tomorrow is the big day!!! I'm down 10 lbs. I hope that's enough. I have the fear that I'll wake up without the band or something. I appreciate all of the help and support I've gotten here. LBT REALLY helped me see all sides of the band and get an acurate picture of what I can really expect as opposed to the everything is going to be perfect ideal that you get from ads and websites that just tell about the procedure. It's nice to go into this with all sides of the story.

    Okay, I'm Scared-

I'm going for my pre-op tomorrow. I am so scared b/c my pre-op means that I'm actually doing this!!!! I start my liquid diet Friday and my surgery is next Friday the 26th. I am SO afraid. I am freaking out here. I KNOW it's the right thing. I've been researching this and thinking about it for over a year now. I guess I'm scared of the post-op gas and pain. I'm scared that something could go wrong (I've been torturing myself by reading the complications board. )I'm also really excited about this and know it's a start to my new life :second: Anyway, I just had to post and get my feelings out.

Ive got a surgery date but.........

It's natural to have second thoughts. I was supposed to have surgery over a year ago but am just now doing it (tommorrow.) The great thing is that I know 100% that I am ready now. I had a year to think about it and deal with the changes I will have to make in my life. I have no second thoughts now. Give yourself time to think on it if you aren't 100% sure. It's a serious step and you need to make sure that you want it. It'll still be there in a year, 5 years, 10 years.
  15. It's less expensive and has a shorter recovery time. They will have to pay out less over the long run for problems most likely.
  16. You have a point Donna. I hope you don't feel that I don't respect that way of doing it. I'm not putting you down at all. My reasoning behind telling people is that it will give me some sort of accountability. I don't want to give myself an inch to fail. I need that. I know that a lot of people don't though, and that's cool. My friend didn't tell anyone but a couple of us who are also fat. She lost 75 lbs in a year. She said it was nice to do it on her terms without questions from everyone. I totally understand that. BTW Donna, your posts really keep me going. I know that sounds dorky, but I see you as one of the "wise ones" on here. You have such a great attitude :clap2:

1st Memory of my Problem Foods

Even though I wasn't physically fat until my 20's, my habits have been fat habits since childhood. I was able to fight them to some extent. For example, my mom bought me poptarts. I ate two and felt aweful 2 hours later. So, I decided I was going to have a home made egg mcmuffalot in the mornings. My mom bought me Eglish muffins, lean ham, eggs, and 2% cheese. I only used the egg whites. I used this sandwhich for many years to start my day and it carried me for hours. My mom would buy chips and dip for my afterschool snack. She didn;t know any better. I loved them. I woould eat an entire bag in one day.
  18. I'll tell anyone who will listen. I don't care who likes it or how they talk about me. People LOVE to tell me their concerns or about a less drastic diet I could do. I just smile and nod my head and go about my business. I WILL not be forced in to shame or hiding. I want everyone to know what I am doing. So be it if they think I'm taking the easy way out. Who cares??? I know the truth. I guess my point is that people need to worry about their own business and stop trying to make drama in yours. It's your life. You shouldn't have to hide, lie, or anything like that.

    Okay, I'm Scared-

I have benign PVCs that came on after my beloved c-section. I took bb's for a while, then my BP got so low that we discontinued them. I seem to be fine. I think that they are generally pretty harmless.

    I'm so disappointed

BTW, I waited a year to get the diet program required by my insurance and it still wasn't enough for them. My co-morbidities weren't enough. I'm pretty convinced that there was nothing more I could do, so I self-payed.

Oprah backs out of lapband surgery

I hate how people rag on WLS. At least I care about my health enough to do something. It's like people bad mouth fat people, but then diss us for taking charge of our weight and our health. I swear.

    Pre-Op Liquid Diet Weight Loss

TY guys!!! Your positive words and this board have helped me get through this in a big way!!!
  25. My doc has me on a one week, low fat/low cal liquid diet. Oddly enough, they told me not to expect to lose weight :cry that it was just to shrink my liver. But, there is no way you could NOT lose weight on it. Anyway, does anyone know what I SHOULD be losing on a one week low cal low fat LD???? What is reasonable??? Today is my 6th day and I have lost 8 lbs. Is that too little/too much???? I want to make sure my liver is shrunken properly.
