  1. I had my surgery back in August of last year. While it’s been a challenge, I’ve seen great results. However over the past few months I have seen some significant hair loss. I don’t have any bald spots, but there is a noticeable thinning out. I’m taking my daily vitamins I am not sure what to do, if anything. Any advice?
  2. I bought a pair of size 8 jeans. I did a happy dance in the fitting room.
  3. I felt the same way before my surgery. My coworkers even threw my a presurgery party that was junk food themed. We had chips, candy, burgers, Taco Bell, you name it. I had my surgery about 5 mo ago, and I can still eat all of those things, just in very small portions. I had a (very small) piece of cake just yesterday. One thing that I’ve been dealing with was this feeling of sadness....or maybe jealousy. It’s definitely not regret, because I don’t regret my decision. But I see how much other people can eat and it makes me sad. I included a picture of my thanksgiving dinner. I had a bit of everything (turkey, ham, bread, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, corn bread stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy), but after I finished, I just sat there watching everyone else with their mounds of food on their plate. Another thing, my surgeon told me, “you will throw up. It’s inevitable”. And that’s true, it just wasn’t what I was expecting. Most of the time it’s the foamies and the slimies. It’s basically just foamy saliva and mucous you’re body is producing to help food get into your stomach, but there’s just no more room, so it comes up and out. I’ve had a lot of mixed emotions about my surgery, but every time I look in the mirror, I’m like, “yea, I made the right decision”. Every time I walk up a flight of stairs, I’m like, “oh yea, that’s why I did this”, etc. All the best! Good luck!

    Bubble guts post-op?

My surgeon recommended topical patch vitamins. I get mine at patchMD. They have a “bariatric basics” pack though I think the multivitamin may be adequate. https://www.patchmd.com
  5. Hello! I hav my sleeve done on 8/17/20, and since then I have noticed an enhanced sense of smell. I could smell my husbands chicken Cesar salad from across the house. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks! -Ash
  6. My BMI has dropped enough where I would no longer qualify for surgery! I’ll take that as a win!

  7. Hello! I had my sleeve done 1 week ago. I had the same pain, I would take a sip of water and just brace for it to hit my stomach because I knew it was going to hurt. That feeling is starting to go away, thankfully. Ive been drinking water, watered down apple juice, watered down Gatorade, and chicken broth, and when I say watered down I mean mostly water and a splash of something else for flavor. My surgeon told me only clear fluids for the first week, so I’ve had zero protein shakes thus far. Second and third week I can add non clear liquids. I’m not sure if this is cheating, but 2 days ago I bought no sugar added fudgesicles, and oh my god I’ve never tasted anything so good. As for the BM, it took me a week and some laxatives. Still nothing solid. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
