I'm nearly 3 months out and currently in my first stall which has been going on for over 2 weeks. I'm very fed up with gaining and losing the same 1/2 lb.........It's just frustrating because I'm getting in the Water and Protein and never go over 1000 calories per day which before surgery would have meant I lost consistently! I wonder if it's because I've been on very reduced calories for 5 months and my body's getting used to the lower intake.

How long ago did you get surgery?

We im out of the stall took me 11 days but I think ive crossed that hurdle... ever been loosing almost a pound a day for 2 days so lets keep it going♡♡♡♡

Well... I have hypothyroidism so I've had so many stalls that I quite literally lost count. My scale actually pisses me off on a regular basis lol. I'm still losing, don't get me wrong. But when you frequently stall for two weeks at a time you want to throw the damn scale at the wall! 🙄 Everyone's body reacts to the surgery differently and some have more stalls then others. I just happen to be one of the cursed ones... 😢 Anyway, I hope your stall passes soon! They're so irritating aren't they?

Amiga I completely understand its sooooo irritating it drives me crazy and I literally have to do the same and throw mine out bc im obsessing over it and it cant be healthy... sending all my love 2 u

  4. Hi loves... im 3 months post op for RNY and Im having my second stall... the first time was 3 weeks out for a week and a half and now is upon us again... how many stalls havr yall had and for how long?.. im getting my Vitamins and Protein in. I know I could do way better with my Water in take I usually get 50ish oz but Ive always been a low drinker and my excercises are a non factor I cycle about 40 to 50 miles a week... HELPPPPPP

  5. Im 12 days post op rny and I have not lost any weight for 5 days... im hiting my Protein and Water goal and I exercise (focused) for at least 30 min a day (the last 2 days I've been doing an hour) the only thing that comes to mind that could be why im stuck already is that my period is about to come in and ive always gained before it starts. Anyone gone thru something similar♡♡

I see these posts here periodically (exact same words), posted on a bunch of different boards (often early in the morning, and they get deleted before most people see them). It is spam, although I'm not sure what the point is since I don't see any links or ads.

Thank you for that info... I was a little taken back but now I understand is spam.. thank you love❤

Same with me back when. As bad off as I apparently was, they likely wrote it off as a lost cause. ;)

    Good Luck,

    Tek

I havent had this insurance for 9 months so it really took me back that they were so efficient. I've heard horror stories from insurance companies that make you do the most. Lost cause or not its celebration time... THANK YOU!!!

  9. I would go with bypass. I had a sleeve in 2013. I did lose 80 pounds but that still had me at 220. Then I developed some discomfort swallowing and I ended up with bile reflux and a large hiatal hernia ... my surgeon said the chances of bile reflux are higher with sleeve because the stomach is under more pressure with a sleeve. a Bypass can be reversed if necessary. A sleeve cannot. Once that stomach is removed, it’s gone. But note that a sleeve can be converted to a bypass later. ..... ultimately if you have 100 or more to lose, bypass would be the way to go.
This one of the reasons why I just made an app to go see my surgeon and talk to him about switching from sleeve to rny... thank you.... I cannot wait for oct 14♡♡♡

  10. I had my heart and soul set on the sleeve, but my endoscopy showed bile reflux so I opted for bypass. I was freaking out, but after I did more research on RNY- I felt more secure in my decision. I didn't want to risk the chance of needing a revision later down the line if I developed reflux with the sleeve. Also, the overall weight loss of RNY is greater long term. Check out the revision group on here too and maybe ask them their thoughts as well. Most will say they wish they would've went with bypass from the beginning. I know folks that have had success with both surgeries, both excellent tools- but my best advice to you would be to do more research and then go with your gut. You got this, and good luck to you on your journey babe!!

Thank you.. i didnt know that there was already a group here for revisions , and thats the thing after my endoscopy they found I had h.pylori and after the antibiotics my stomach felt HORRIBLEEEEE reflux galore and I know that can be something to develop with sleeve and I DONT WANT IT plus im all in it now so I might as well go balls deep... thank you again for your input♡♡

  11. Yep. Bypass here 8/28/20. Sleeve also loses less weight on average but you know that since you looked at the statistics. Sleeve has its place though for people with less bmi and few comorbidty. Rny is a little better towards reversing diabetes and comorbities thats in the data. Rny doesnt have as high risk as the DS. Its also got about 15-20 years of data versus less for sleeve. I think they are all good but rny fits my particular needs with comorbities being more likely to be gone (compared to sleeve) but not as high death risk as the DS. Thats why i went bypass

I thankfully have no comorbidities as of not but my bmi is 45 which is up there... thank you for your input.. hope everything goes well... I would love to hear how it all went.. I send you the best of vybes♡♡♡

  12. I had the same thoughts when considering which surgery I wanted....i considered the sleeve for several reasons...a few being that the actual surgical procedure was less than half the time it would take to do the bypass and I heard recovery wasn’t as bad. I also have a few close friends who had the sleeve and are more than happy with their results.
I ended up deciding on RNY due to my occasional acid reflux and I was nervous about regaining my weight and falling back into the old habits that got my in the situation I was in before surgery. I didn’t want to have to deal with the possibility of needing revision surgery and having to go through everything twice. I figured I was already going to be under anesthesia so I just thought “I’m not going to know how long I’m asleep” lol
But I know several people that had the sleeve and it was a perfect fit for them with long term success to back it up! It’s really just up to you!
Thank you for sharing ur journey with me... i feel the same way if im going to be under i might as well just go all in and keep myself on a straight line... how long ago did you have ur rny and have you had any problems... sorry for all the questions im just full of them lately♡♡♡♡
