  1. Aw thanks! [emoji4] It sure feels good not to be so overweight anymore! Sent from my Pixel 5a using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. I had to add this pick of me in my kid's knock-off comfy [emoji23] Excuse my messy hair and crazy pants. I was being "comfy". Ha ha Sent from my Pixel 5a using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. I never let my weight get in the way of doing things I wanted before and it didn't keep me from treating myself, but I sure am enjoying being a size large now instead of a 5x! It's much easier to buy clothes now and I never could get much at a thrift store before, but now I can get so much! I've really been enjoying thrifting a lot. 4. I have been wanting a "Comfy" for a while now since I am cold a lot more than before I lost 200 pounds. I do Aldi pickup a lot and saw they had a knock off for 15 bucks. I ordered it, but when I got it, it was a "junior" for kids. I thought, what the heck, I'll try it on since these things are oversized. And it fits with a lot of room. Lol. Luckily, I'm 5'3" and have t-rex arms, so even the sleeves are long enough for me. [emoji23] Sent from my Pixel 5a using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. Thank you [emoji3590]. It's an amazing feeling. I felt like a failure as a mom so many times because there were things I couldn't do with him. I tried by best but that's just not good enough when you weigh almost 400 pounds. I am 50 and feel like a kid again myself! I'm so thankful. Congratulations on being able to play catch with your son and outdo him! [emoji23] Sent from my Pixel 5a using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. Best. One. Ever. It snowed here in the St. Louis area, and I have always loved snow but haven't been able to play in it for years because of my weight. My 11 year old son and I just came inside from playing in the snow and sledding and I went up and down our hill so many times to sled and wasn't winded AT ALL. This is the first time in my son's life that I've been able to get out there and keep up with him in the snow and this and this alone is worth every penny I paid for my surgery!!! 7. Alright I keep forgetting stuff I want to add and don't know how to edit posts on my phone, but I also had asthma, which got diagnosed about 7 years before my wls and that has completely improved. I hardly ever have to used my rescue inhaler anymore. Like twice in the past year! Sent from my Pixel 5a using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. Oh I should add I had GERD too and don't now. Sent from my Pixel 5a using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. I had NASH (fatty liver disease), newly diagnosed high blood pressure and I've had migraines since I was 10. I'm 50. Everything went away except the migraines, but I'm also going through menopause I think and they have increased. [emoji2370] The thing is, anyone can have these conditions, so I do take issue with doctors acting like weight loss will cure everything. I knew it was the only way to improve my fatty liver, and it did, so I'm happy about that, but I wish doctors would let people know that there is no guarantee it will make all thr comorbidities go away. 10. I found that all the chewable ones were disgusting to me, especially soon after my surgery. I prefer a pill so the Procare is perfect and my levels have been great so far. Sent from my Pixel 5a using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. I should add I take the one with 45mg iron. Sent from my Pixel 5a using BariatricPal mobile app

  14. Hello all! I had the SADI-S on July 24, 2020. I weighed 393 pounds at my highest and 368 on the day of surgery. I am so excited because today I finally made it to onederland! When I started out I was hoping to get at least down to 200 pounds. I am so happy to be officially under that number now and I hope to go even lower. My weight has slowed down a lot in the last few months and sometimes it's hard to stay motivated but I am not giving up! My wonderful, supportive husband gave me the shirt I'm wearing in this pic to celebrate. It came last week and he wouldn't let me open it and I thought it was something for the anniversary of the day we met, which also happens to be 18 years ago today. I was so surprised by the shirt. Anyway. I just wanted to share because I am so excited and had to tell someone who understands. [emoji4] Sent from my Pixel 5a using BariatricPal mobile app

    Skin

I've lost 193 pounds and am hoping to lose at least 20 more. I do have quite a bit of loose skin. It's almost all on my stomach and legs. I was always worried about getting loose skin, mostly because I was afraid it would be heavy and uncomfortable, but it really doesn't bother me much. I'm 50 years old and I don't know if I will get it removed. I already paid out of pocket for my wls, so I really can't afford a bunch of plastic surgery right now. You really can't see it under my clothes and my husband and I are the only ones who see me naked and he doesn't care. I was 393 pounds and I will take this loose skin any day over carrying all that weight around on my 5'3" frame. I included a Pic of me from New Year's eve. My arms have always been on the smaller side for a big girl so there isn't much loose skin there but I do have some. Most of mine is from the waist down. Keep in mind I am still losing weight so I don't know what it will look like later. The only skin that really bothers me is on my face. You really couldn't see a lot of wrinkles at my high weight, and you definitely can now. I feel like a look older than before. But again, I'll take this over weighing almost 400 pounds. I am healthy now and that's why I did this! Sent from my Pixel 5a using BariatricPal mobile app
  22. I'm about 18 months out now, and I remember feeling the same way the first couple weeks after surgery. I kept asking why I did this to myself. I struggled to get the protein shakes down because I found them so disgusting and I felt weak all the time. After about a month the weakness got better. With trial and error I found protein products I could tolerate. It's definitely overwhelming at first. Now at 18 months out and 190 pounds down I have to say it DEFINITELY gets better and I know it was the best decision I ever made. Hang in there! Sent from my Pixel 5a using BariatricPal mobile app
  23. Yes! It is exciting! And the women's fit so much better than the men's! Sent from my Pixel 5a using BariatricPal mobile app
  24. Last year around Christmas, I found my perfect Christmas sweater. It is a fair aisle St. Louis Cardinals Christmas sweater. I'm a very big fan. It was on clearance for 15 bucks and an Xl. I was a 5x at my biggest and 3x when I bought it. When I showed it to my husband he said he couldn't picture me being small enough to wear it. It is more like a large or medium than and xl. I told him you wait. I will wear this next year at Christmas. Well, I DID wear it this year and he thought I looked hot! [emoji16] It's probably dumb to some people but being a big baseball fan I was always sad I couldn't get the cute women's clothes they sell for fans. This is probably my favorite NSV!!
