    Pre-Op Diet

My surgery is on 8/1. I have my pre-op appt with the surgeon on 7/29. I was told to begin my liquid diet on 7/25. But the last 2 weeks I have been pigging out on all my favorite foods and I have gained about 10 since my last appt. I am worried I will go to my pre-op appt and they will be pissed at my weight gain and postpone my operation. I am scared. I began a low-carb diet today since that has been my diet of choice in the past that allowed me to lose the weight the fastest. I don't want to be postponed. I can't believe I gained 10 lbs. since my last appt. Feeling very disappointed with myself for that behavior. Did anyone else pig out or am I the only one?
  2. OMG I am scared too. I have never had surgery before, never been in the hospital before. Worst thing I've had is an ingrown toe-nail. People are asking why do something so drastic if I do not surrently have any health issues like diabetes, etc... but call it vanity if you want, I want to be thin! Oh, and I have also been chowing down big time on all my favorite foods prior to the liquid diet that begins on 7/25... not a good idea, I know. But I kinda feel like I have to get them all in while I can.

    Whom did/will you tell?

I keep getting my post deleted before I can hit send - WTH? I have told a select few that I know will support me. I have not told the people I know to be haters. I did just starting this guy though, only 2 dates so nothing serious. I know he prefers plus size girls, so I am thinking I should tell him, but then again, even at my goal weight I will still be shopping at Lane Bryant and still be plus size. I have told him that I am working on losing weight and getting more physically fit and making more trips to the gym and he has been real supportive of that, even going with me on a long walk through the park to help me. So he knows and supports me losing weight, but I don't know if I want him to know how I am going to be doing it. We have only known each other a week, only had 2 dates, but I do really like him so far. Help!
  4. I am nervous and excited all at once! I have to do 7 days of liquids prior for the liver issues. Going through my local True Results office in Phoenix. I too went on a cruise before my banding to the Bahamas on Carnival. My last big hurrah of food in excess. I have also been cooking lavish meals for myself leading up to the surgery. I went through BC/BS of AZ and it was very painless for me. TR took care of everything. They gave me a checklist of what BCBS needed for approval, most of which was done in their offices, but they gave me referrals for the x-rays and blood work, they collected all the test results, they contacted my PCP to get all my background health records, and then they submitted it to BC/BS for me. The monday before my cruise they sent off my request and by the time I got back home I had my approval letter in my mailbox!
  5. I just found this group today. I am going to be banded soon I hope. I found out that my insurance covers the surgery and pro-ops tests, just having to pay my normal co-pays and deductibles. I have completed all the tests and paperwork. Just waiting on the OK from insurance company and I get to schedule it! Going through True Results. I am going to the Bahamas in June and I decided to wait until my return for the surgery. Did anyone else have to do the liquid diet prior to surgery? What did that entail and was it hard? Any advice on what to expect right after and also that liquid diet beforehand would be appreciated!:biggrin2:
