Hang in there. You are in the right place.I'm in the hospital. My symptoms became much worse after my post. They did a cat scan and I have a blockage. They gave me morphine and zofran. It fel better until they needed me ri drink contrast solution. The pain came back and I was given more morphine. I ended up having a severe panic attack and they medicated me for that. I'm just waiting for my do for to tell me how they will proceed from here.

Keep walking at home and take the pain meds. It gets better around day 5. You can do this!Home now. Pain worsens. My dogs jumped on my stomach. Blood sugars high but doc says that's normal.

It turns out it was the anti nausea patch I wore behind my ear for the surgery. The nurse called me 2 days after going home to check on me. She confirmed that vision would return to normal a few days after removing the patch. And it did! That is quite possible especially if you had sugar issues. I would wait at least 90 days as long as nothing major before going to an eye doctor for new glasses. If it seems to be a bigger issue definitely get that checked out. I know my moms glasses needs changed greatly after surgery

Vision changes - I had gastric bypass on Thursday. I am doing OK with the pain and no hunger at all. I am near sighted and need glasses to see far away things. I can also read any thing close up with my glasses on. But ever since surgery, I have noticed that when reading or using my phone close up, it is blurry. I remove my glasses and it's clear, but distant items are blurry of course.
Has anyone experienced vision changes after surgery?

I did it yesterday. It's weird to go to sleep in one room and wake up in another room. Lots of pain in recovery, but it's under control now. Mostly I just feel like I did 1 trillion sit-ups. I'm trying to remember to walk at home too. I'm not hungry anymore.!How you doing Mellie! Hope you post an update on how it went for everyone good luck!

Awesome! Good luck! I just told my parents about the surgery. I thought it would be a whole thing, but they were pretty cool about it. My mom asked lots of question all of which I had answers for. My dad only asked, "does the doctor need my help? Because I'm available." Uh, no thanks Dad. He's retired from working in electronics, and he's quite a joker. 😂

I'm new here. My bypass is scheduled for Aug 13. I'm in the metro Atlanta area and a mom of 3.i have a hard time keeping up with them. I'm on liquid diet now and very hungry. My ultimate goal is to ride a roller coaster. Or all the roller coasters. Or go to a Water park and not be embarrassed. I have a dress from my 24th birthday. If I ever get back to it, I will cry.
Anyone else nearby or having the same surgery or day? Wouldn't it be crazy to find someone at the same hospital at the same time? 😜

Toddler silverware. There are options that are only silver and not babyish looking. These help you eat tiny bites/spoonfuls.
sugar free Popsicles and Jello. Get a strainer with the tiny holes. I loved simple French onion Soup and strained the bits out. It was tastier than a store bought broth. An immersion blender helped me have a chicken soup with veggies. I also agree not to get anything in bulk yet. I do like Isopure Protein Powder. It is tasteless, and I trick myself into getting more Protein by putting it in my Water and soup.
Get lots of the little medicine cups from the hospital. I call them "Mommy's shot glasses."
