  1. Hey! I am doing well, thanks! Sorry, I kinda dropped off this site for a while. I've lost 33 pounds, and that includes the preop diet. I was supposed to start working out yesterday and got sick. UGH! I am going to try and do the couch to 5k program and hopefully run a Thanksgiving 5k they have here in Dallas. Can you imagine?

Anyway, what is going on with you? Cut pic, BTW.

  2. Hey! I was banded on July 16th and I love my band! I'm down about 44 pounds. I fyou have any questions in particular feel free to message me!

    Abby

  3. Hi! Thanks for accepting the request! Yes, I am July 16th also. I got your name off the list that's floating around and thought it would be nice to chat. I was SUPER excited until the night before my 2 week liquid started, then I was a little scared. But my coworkers (God love 'em) are being super supportive so that helps tremendously! I started my preop diet yesterday. I felt great all day. Today I started getting a little bit of a headache so I made sure to get my vitamins the doc reccomended and am trying to drink more water.

I am 31, married with 2 stepkids and 1 baby of my own who will be 2 in August - hoping to be completely mobile by her birthday on 8/17! I work in Marketing and love rock music. I guess that's a good intro. What about you?

  4. Definitely! It's not just running, though. I imagine any exercise. Due to drama in my life I stopped running for a few weeks and my weight loss is down to like 2 pounds a month. New Year's resolution is to start running again now that drama is mostly passed.

  5. ercole - I have also been very tempted to cheat but trying to hold it together. I got some Dreyer's popsicles today and they actually taste like real food which is comforting. They are real fruit and don't have any sugar. Chewing gum has also been a lifesaver for me. Well - good luck!

  6. Gee thanks! I can't take much credit for that - I get it from my mom! Where in Texas are you? I was so excited before I got banded and then I freaked out the night before the surgery, but everything went really well. Good Luck and let me know if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them, if I can!

  7. Hey - thanks for accepting the friend link! I also started my pre-op liquid diet yesterday . . . Optifast. I am getting banded by Dr Frank Veninga in Dallas! Lap band was the only option for me. I have about 135 or so to loose. Are you on all liquids? How are you doing? I found adding extracts (vanilla, coconut, banana) to my shakes makes them better. They don't have any sugar or anything in them. Nice!

  8. Hey! I got baded yesterday. How did it go for you. Well, now I have another 2 weeks of liquid diet but totally worth it. Lost 16 pounds before the surgery!

  9. Hey! How's your preop diet going? Don't worry, it's almost over. I have to say again that I love my band and the new life I have with it. I have now lost 55 pounds - woo hoo!

  10. I am doing really well, thanks! By the end of the week I should hit the 50 pound mark. But, I noticed I am starting to "experiment" more with the types of food I'm eating so I need to be careful with that. Haven't tried Wendy's chili. I went there once and jsut got the jr. burger and ate only the meat and cheese. It seemed to be enough. Eating out is tough, though!

  11. I love that quote - protein shots. Funny!

  12. I think fears and doubts are totally normal as you enter the process. That's why its good to have a support system like this website.

  13. Koi fish? Very interesting. I have a small tattoo on my shoulder that i need covered or made into something else, but still no idea as to what I am going to do with it! If you have any ideas, shoot them my way~

  14. Nope, no sickness on my end. I have not thrown up at all. I did feel a bit nauseous when I started working out but my doctor said it was dehydration and he was right. I stay away from carbs, bread, pasta, etc and that seems to help. I think people throw up or feel pain when they eat stuff they shouldn't. Let me know if you have any more quesitons. SOrry for the late reply!

  15. Oh, thanks so much! I had my surgery yesterday and I'm doing really well. I appreciate the good vibes!

  16. OMG - me, an inspiration? Thanks! I'm glad I could help. Some days are easier than others but I have a goal to be down to 200 by my birthday the first week of November, so I'm working my butt off. Let me know how you're doing!

  17. Running really is fun and I'm amazed how many people I'm meeting that I would have never considered talking to if it weren't for the running. I am starting to see my weight loss slow a little bit. But, I'm ok with that, as long as it doens't stop!

  18. Seriously - I love your screen name! Should I ask how you came up with it?

  19. So, have you given it a try yet? Let me know!

  20. Thanks for the advice. If you by any miracle know of a good tattoo artist in the Dallas area let me know! Nice interpretation on the koi fish - I'd never heard of it before.

  21. Thanks for the friend request. I see your surgery is in August? Mine is coming up in less than 2 weeks and I'm pretty excited. Liquid diet is taking some getting used to - but this whole thing is about re-learning a few things, right?

  22. Yeah, liquid diet was tough but I lost 16 pounds on it - WOOHOO! I will be on liquids again now that I am banded for about 2 weeks. How did your surgery go?

  23. You should give it a try. Seriously, the hardest part about running is deciding to do it. After a few weeks you won't even think of it as exercise.
