    Crappy Dietician

I'm sorry to hear about your bad experience. I don't know where your dietitian works out of, but it sounds like she is in the wrong profession. My dietitian takes and returns my calls quickly, she always loves to hear about my progress, and she has been super helpful with ideas and advice on how to keep things running smoothly. If you can, you should try to get a new one. A dietitian is supposed to be someone you can lean on and they give you answers not hostility Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Eating

Make sure you chew your food really well and wait between bites before taking another. Also when you have pain and something feels stuck, don't give in to the temptation of drinking water to get it to go down. Get up and walk, just walk and walk and that'll help your system move it down easier and a little faster to help with the pain. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

Recent RNY - How ya doing?

I had my surgery May 29th and I've lost about 80lbs so far and its mind blowing! I have some issues with phlegm because of my sinuses so lots of dry heaving every morning, but it's getting better. I still don't see the difference, but I see myself everyday. I feel alot better though and I'm trying new foods everyday and its exciting! I have no regrets!! HW: 351lbs CW: 271lbs Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. What's a good way to sell my vitamins that I bought and never really used? I spent a bunch of money and then just barely used a couple if them. I have no idea where to post. I don't want to throw them out cuz that's wasted money. I'd much rather sell them super discounted so that someone gets some use out of them. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. I've barely eaten in the past week or so. I'm just not hungry at all and when I try to eat anything be it liquid or solid my body doesn't want it. I chew and chew and chew and its s struggle to swallow because I don't want to. I have a Dr. Appointment next week to hopefully resolve some of the issues I'm having. I'm also having sharp pains in my left side where what's left of my stomach sits. Has anyone else experienced these problems? Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Tah-Ketos lol

I gave these a try tonight and they were actually pretty good. Its sliced mozzarella baked til its golden, then you roll whatever you want in it. I used shredded chicken, and some seasoned black beans and corn. I was only able to finish like 2 if them lol, but that's because it's been really hot and I haven't eaten much. Mental Health and Wellness Venting

I would say your best bet is to talk to your psychiatrist and discuss the surgery and how meds will work afterwards. That way you know what could possibly happen. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. I made this so that people can vent about their mental health pre and post op. Meds and habits change and it can be really rough. I have Bipolar disorder and having surgery meant stopping my meds for over a month. Then we had to adjust meds so that I'd absorb them better. The in between time was really rough and I had some serious issues with my depression and containing my emotions. It's gotten better and I still have rough days, but venting really helps! CAN'T STOP LOSING WEIGHT??

I had my surgery May 29th and I'm down 60lbs. It's hard work, but it gets easier as you go! I had RNYGB and I regret nothing! For the first time in years I'm under 300lbs! I don't see the change yet, but the moment I noticed I'd lost inches was when I got in my car and had to scoot my seat forward cuz my belly wasn't in my way as much! I've hit a stall, but I'm gonna keep working! I love hearing all the success stories people share cuz it keeps me going! Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

What do you wish you had known

Speaking as someone who had to go off their BiPolar meds in order to get surgery, idk if there is a group here or not, but feel free to message me if you have questions. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. I had my surgery at the end of May and my Highest weight was 351lbs and now I'm about 6 weeks post op and I'm already down to 294lbs! I've lost over 50lbs! As long as you're willing to put in the work and make the lifestyle change (which isn't as hard as it sounds) then you'll do great! Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Help.

I reccomend Genepro unflavored protein powder. You can put it in just about anything and a tiny scoop is 30g of protein. If you need help making a BM I reccomend dulcolax suppository because the first BM after surgery suuuuuuucccckkkkkkksssssss!!! Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. I had surgery may 29th and I have had lots of ups and some downs. My Highest weight: 351lbs My current weight is 302lbs So I'm down 48lbs in my first month since surgery and I'm glad I've been doing so well. I found an unflavored protein powder that makes it easier for me to hit my requirements. I hate the vitamins cuz it's like chewing on chalk, but my doc said I can get the chewy ones now. I'm in Stage 3 of my diet for the soft solids and I absolutely detest fish. My dietitian recommended rotisserie chicken cuz it goes down easy. Any suggestions on meals to try in this stage as I work towards stage 4? I have had some sharp pains in my side and the doctor doesn't seem concerned and that's when he explained that my stomach is now in my chest which I didn't realize lol. Still a virgin at 46

I know it's rare, but not everyone goes for looks. I've been big all my life, but I have always had big boobs and lots of confidence and it has helped with dating and such. I have always had my internal struggles though and I understand where you're coming from. If you ever need to talk or vent you can shoot me a message. Good things come in time and you will find someone that wants you for you! Also I think most guys are just generally not great at taking pics and they tend to not be flattering no matter what size they are. If you have a female friend that you're comfortable with I'd say ask her to help you take some fun pics! They don't have to be nudes, just maybe your hobbies or something that shows the real you! Keep at it! Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm always open to making new friends especially ones that have an understanding that my other friends don't. Feel free to message me! Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  19. For protein I use Genepro cuz its 30g of protein in 1 scoop. You can mix it into anything. Soups, oatmeal, coffee, water, etc. Pretty much anything. It has made it alot easier for me to get my protein requirements in because I am not a fan of sweets. I checked with my dietitian and she said it's good. Date Suggestions

I am only a month post op and I've always loved food. Cooking it, eating it, and feeding people at gatherings. At first it was hard because you're all liquids and your significant other is eating food. I can tell you it wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be. I've still enjoyed cooking for my boyfriend and son very much. And your stomach is so much smaller that even though you can't eat as much as you used to, to comfort yourself, you get full a lot faster. I have had food at restaurants, but it's just a smaller amount. My stepmom got the same surgery years ago and she always looks at the bright side for date nights she always has a to go box and has food for later. Just make sure you stick to what your dietitian and doctor and it will keep getting easier! Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

Stage 1 Diet and Ice Cream

Avoid ice cream, but find a protein shake flavor you like and pour it into an ice tray. Take a few cubes and put them in a blender with some more liquid protein shake and then it's like a shake. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

    I want to succeed

I can't stand most of the protein powders or pre mixed drinks because they're all sweet and take forever to drink so you feel like you're never meeting your protein requirements. I got Genepro it's an unflavored protein powder and you can put it in just about anything. It's a tiny scoop for 30g of protein and you can finish it in one sitting. Also walk walk walk as much as you can and it will help that gas sort itself out better. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

All I want to do is cheat on my diet

I can't stand the shakes because I'm really not a big fan of sweets. I just moved on to the soft solids stage of my diet and the hard part for me is separating liquids from meals. I reccomend Genepro protein powder because a tiny scoop is 30g of protein. You can put it in just about anything and it's amazing! And when you advance your diet there is a keto version of pretty much everything you crave. Hang in there! Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
