Can’t do anything with excess loose skin except to surgically remove it. Sorry. The skin has been stretched out for too long like a well used hair band. You may get some bounce back depending upon your age, genetics, how long you were obese. Also in the months after you stabilise your remaining fat does tend to resettle a bit so some areas may refill a little. Weight or resistance training may help the underlying muscles support it better. My friend has become an avid cyclist post surgery & her thighs are rock hard with great muscle definition but she still has loose skin on her upper thighs - she showed me last week 😁.

All those therapies like IPL, RF, thermage, ultrasound, cryotherapy, etc. seem to cost a lot & offer short term if any effects on small amounts of loose skin.

There are quite a few threads about people’s plastic surgery here if you’re interested in reading about other’s experiences.

    The link isn’t working unfortunately

I think almost everyone dreads the Hair loss. I helped lead the pre-op classes at my clinic for three or four years (before COVID hit), and it never failed - at every class, people asked about hair loss! Honestly, most people don't lose enough for others to notice (some do, of course - but for most, no). I hardly lost any. I knew I was losing it because there was more hair strands in my comb for three or four months than was usual, but just looking at my hair - no - couldn't tell. Some people do report their hair getting thinner - but again, more often than not, they're the only ones who notice it.

I think most of us who are a ways out from surgery will tell you that it was a small price to pay for losing all that weight, and it was really more of a minor annoyance than anything else. In retrospect, I shouldn't have wasted any brain cells on it since it really wasn't that big a deal.

I use Zipfizz every morning in my Water. I was told multiple times that it would not absorb properly, and every time I would prove them wrong in my labs. Plus, it tastes good and is a change from just water.

our stats are pretty similar. With that much of a loss, you're going to have loose skin. I had a lot of it. Fortunately, it was pretty easy to hide in clothes - I'm the only one who knew it was there. I've since had it removed, though...

Wish there was a way for insurance to cover that. If you don't mind me asking, what was the cost to have it removed?

  4. I had the sleeve done on June 29th, 2020. My starting weight was 334, and I am down to 173 as of this morning. I still drink my premier shakes every morning and maintain a high Protein diet. I still have issues keeping certain foods down, though, and I need to figure out what I can eat without them coming back up. I can go and get 4 pieces of fatty tuna sushi on rice and be perfectly fine but have a bite or 2 of Pasta, and I am in the toilet a few minutes later. Any tips on trying to incorporate more food into my diet? To be totally honest, I am afraid of getting too much of the carbs and gaining weight back.

Also, I am having some loose skin, any tips on anyone that has been able to help that without spending a fortune on surgery?

    Thanks for any advice

I promise it gets better!! Just keep at it, keep walking!

For soft foods, I loved refried Beans with a little cheese and sour cream. You can Google buffalo chicken puree, that's yummy too. Or ricotta bake. I had trouble with creamy Soups because they went through too quickly and I got the sweats and nauseous but I could do pureed veggie Soup or Tomato Soup.< br>
I'm 7 weeks out and eating normal food. It feels like it will never happen but it does! I promise. (Still can't do chicken breast but love me some chicken thighs!).

The link doesn’t work for the Buffalo Chicken purée if you have the recipe it would be helpful

  8. So I had my surgery June 26th, and just past my 3rd week and only lost 1 pound. I am walking every day and have progressed up to 5k steps a day and not losing. I am in my puree phase and my typical day is a half an avocado, Greek yogurt, and tuna mashed. My Snacks are a SF popsicle, SF Jello, or unsweetened apple sauce. After surgery I was not able to drink the premier shakes as they induced nausea so I have been using an unflavored Protein Powder and mixing in a Zero Powerade and Water with crystal light. Not sure what I may be doing wrong and this Friday I start my soft food phase and not sure what my menu will be yet. Any help would be appreciated
