  1. Good afternoon;

    I myself am a 14cc bander. I have been having trouble with my band. Since my 3rd fill which put me at 6.5cc. I throw up at least 3-4 times a week. I have to keep my game on 24/7 or I get the upchuck blues. So I have went to eating the comfort foods that I know will not cause problems. That has made my losses go from good to oh well. With my wifes advice and my light on top of the brain assumption, i figured that i was not getting enough Protein for the weight loss. I am going to the gym 1-3 times a week. So Iam going to try and stop eating the dumb stuff and keep my Protein levels up. Also I am going to come back to where I started with my weight loss HERE.

    So i will keep you updated on my adventure back into the weight loss that should have been going on.

    Kevin:biggrin:

  2. I would like to know how many men are losing the battle of eating what is right and what is wrong. My battle is thinking that I can still eat the before food and still lose weight. When I go to the grocery with my wife and buy a simple pound of lunch meat for sandwiches, I end up litteraly living near the fridge. I end up going back to the old ways of eating like a old boar hog. After finishing the old way of eating food that I know is wrong, I feel like I have wasted my time. Then I go for a days eating like I should and lose weight. But the the little guy on my shoulder says Hey it's alright to go back and try some of that old food. Guess what I gain back what I lost. So I am looking for others that have been here and have changed their ways to eating right all the time. So let me hear from the men on this site.

  3. Gentlemen,

    I work in a Dr's office with 17 other women. So don't talk to me about periods or cycles I deal with it everyday. I need some help in eating less. Are all of you weighing your food at meal times or are you just sighting it in with your eyes saying that looks like so many enough food?? Most of the time I am not weighing food so is that why my weight loss is at a slow pace??? Let me hear from all the other men.

  4. Good afternoon,

    I have been banded since 12-08 and it is the best thing I have ever done. It feels like you will never get your surgery date while on your 6 month wait. But being patient is one of the thngs you learn. You and the dr have to jump thru hoops for the ins company. Also you will have to have a last meeting with the dr and probably the nutrionist. Oh bny the way they have to do another ins check to be double sure and thenm you will get your date. You may even pick up the phine to see if its still working to make sure you haven't missed the mosat important call in your life. Be patient and just relax and your time will come..

  5. I have been given a date of Dec. 8, 2008. I will report to the hospital sometime in the afternoon so they can let me loose the next day. I am getting very nervous about what I am about to go through. I have the biggest and best support of my wife. I am going to start eating more whey Protein and shakes off of the forum on shakes. So here's too the december Hotties and our new way of life.

  6. My name is Kevin Fitzpatrick and I am having lap band surgery. I am having my final nutrition office visit on 11-11-08. I would like to hear from other lap banders in the area. If we all stay together we can help each other while we are beginning a new way of eating and living. We could also hold each other accountable for getting out to get the exercise that will help us stay healthy. thanks for reading my first thread.

  7. :ohmy: Good afternoon to all of you in the December group. I go to the Dr. 11-11-08 for my final consultation. I hope to get a band date at this time. I have jumped thru all of the hoops that have been in front of me. I jujst can't get my head around to believe that it will happen. All i want is to go in and have the staff tell me what I have to start doing to get ready for the biggest hing in my life. I am looking at diabetes being my biggest problem if I don't get banded. I need toget my head out of my a--, and get to the gym on a regular basis. I make excuses for not going to the gym. So could one of my new friends here help me get modivated to excerise. I will post again after having my office visit. kcfitz@embarqmail.com:blink::thumbup::)

  8. I am alos in the 6mo waiting game of insurance. I am rying to lose weight with a 1500 calorie diet. I often fight with this each day. In July will be my start of month 5. I wish it was month 6, because i am becoming afraid of the unknown. I try to lose weight with the diet and also with excerise at the gym. But my brain is not helping me stop the eating. I went in on Wed for a required egd for insurance and found to have esophagitis. No symptoms were being seen before this day. But know as I look back oh boy have I had symptoms. Now my best friend is protonix for the next couple of months. But best of all I can come here and talk about my fears.:angry:

  9. I work in a Dr's office here in Pa. I got tired of watching my weight go up and my clothes size increasing also. I went for the consultation and found out that my ins. would pay I was elated. I went back to work and told my boss that i was going to have lap band and she said you don't need surgery. I laughed and told her what I weighed and had to help pick her jaw up off her desk. Scrub outfits sometimes hide the heaviness of a person. The only place i really show as being heavy is in my frontal area. So I can hide that with my work clothes. Now since I work with a great CRNP I talk about weight loss with anyone who is interested in it. I am in month 4 of 6 with diet and excerise. I go wed for my egd and I think I have all of the requirements done:biggrin: So then its just watching what I eat and hitting the gym as much as possible. So here's to all of us waitng patiently for surgery.:ohmy::thumbup::crying::thumbup:
