  1. Thank you Nance! I was getting worried. I just had my first fill and cannot really feel a difference. I believe I have 4.4 cc's in a 10 cc band. I am not feeling any restriction and am on the verge of falling off the wagon myself! I have had a bad habit of binging on crackers/chips at dinner time when I am the most hungry. At least I know there is hope. My doctor is really conservative and I am feel like it will be like pulling teeth to get another fill.

  2. I am glad you brought this up. I feel like the diet I am on is way too restrictive. Especially after reading some of the other posts on this forum. I am only allowed to have 1/4 c. of food or 2oz. at a time. I am supposed to have this 6 times a day but I am always hungry. It never seems to be enough. I have not had a fill yet either. The dietician has me on the same diet as the gastric bypass patients and I think that is wrong since they have full restriction right away. I find myself cheating in the late afternoon/evening because I am so hungry. I am crazy? wrong? Is anyone else going through this? I am starting to worry about this.

  3. I feel the same way about my eating that tammygirl does. Today was my first day eating solid food again. My dietician has me eating only 2oz. of food at a time. They have the lapband patients and gastri bypass patients on the same diet which I don't think is right.

I am so fearful of self-sabotage. Everytime I have dieted, I get so wrapped up in thinking about food all the time. I am so afraid of failure with this.

  4. My surgery was also on June 6th and I am still feeling miserable. The gas pain has been terrible and I have tried the Gas X and it has not helped. My feet are also swelling and I keep coughing up phlegm. I am going to call my doctor this morning as I coughed up a little blood with the phlegm. The coughing hurts a lot and I am afraid that my band will slip if I cough too hard. Has anyone else experienced this? I have successfully been able to get 2oz of Protein Shake down every 2 hours. Getting the required Water down has been tricky. I accidently gulped some down and felt pretty bad afterwards. Must remember to sip everything slowly.

  5. Hello, I am also new to NC by way of Colorado. We have lived here for 1 year exactly. Going to get my band tomorrow. I am excited and nervous all at the same time. Would love to hear from more of Dr. Bauman's patients. I was going to go with the Realize band but switched back to the LapBand at the last minute. Tough choice to make.
