  1. Thanx CW and Big sis, I am just worried in case my tubing has been pierced....I will know when I see MVDB hopefully.... on 9th May. I know Big sis, what a family duh!!. They've told my daughter that she cant go back to work....she sits on her bum in an office and only part time too. She has to go back in hospital when she's 26 weeks and they will give baby steroids to develop her internal organs. They wont let her pregnancy go beyond 34 weeks, if she doesnt deliver before. She has waited so long for a little girl, I just pray everything will work out well. Rachel is coming home tomorrow all being well. And my other daughter who's in Australia is in bits now worrying about her big sis.
  2. Welcome to Westbourne, you will find lots of info here!!!! Mmm, I havent lost anything up to now, so you are the same as me, yet somedays my clothes fit better...weird. Roll on 9th May to my next fill, lets hope I still have the 3mls in from Freddy boy, otherwise I will kill myself. Hope you girls and guys are all doing well, sorry for not being here much, times is hard L8ter sweetpeas xxxx
  3. Cheers KaKa..I know you're right and deep down I know that normally giving up the ole weed I would have put weight on, but I havent.. The truth is I have smoked since I was about 14, so its always been part of my life. The only time I didnt smoke was when pregnant, I should never have started again. Fool!!! Well Rachel has to stay in hospital for 3 days on complete bed rest, baby seems to be fine, so fingers crossed. Because she is only 20 weeks they cant give her steroids apparently, but they will be doing a weekly scan and taking bloods every week, until whenever. I dont think anything else can go wrong i this family...can it???
  4. Last night my daughters waters started to break, she's not due until end of August, they took her into hospital, where she is now waiting for the consultant to visit so she can go home. Its a stressful time, she has 2 sons and only Tuesday found out this baby is a little girl, she was so happy. But I think she will be ok, she'll have to have weekly scans and blood tests until her due date. I almost smoked last night whilst waiting for news. duh!!
  5. Kaka, your daughter has done tremendously well, far better than me. Excellent!!! In fact I'm going to start smoking again soon, cos I cant stop eating:angry:
  6. Yeh Flirty but you're a young woman plenty of time to give up when you're ready. Yes weighed myself and the weights back on, must have been water or some such stuff lol. All that pain and discomfort for nowt....if i dont start losing after my next fill then i will start smoking again, cos I'm not paying out all this money to stay fat.
  7. Dammit!!!! I always miss stuff like that :mad2: Will it be repeated on another of the sky channels do you know Flirty? That bath full of Chinese food sounds downright sexy, I think I may prefer melted choccy atm though:thumbup: We had salt and pepper chicken wings and special fried rice and curry and chips last night. I did manage some of it, but poor hubby ends up scoffing too much and he will start putting weight on. Its the no smoking thing with him too.:smile2: I have been eating again... small portions...but I'm sure I've put that 4lbs back on. I still feel the urge to smoke if I dont have a patch on and its been 7 weeks today since I last smoked. Does the longing ever go away???:sneaky:
  8. So sorry aint been here guys, been...and still am so sick I caught this damn bug off my pest of a grandson (he's 8 and full of little boy germs!!) I have had the wildies since saturday evening, my God my bum is in tatters was like passing sulphuric acid Sorry to be so graphic, but I wanted to share. Dont feel very hungry (hurrah!!!) and am aching all over. Good news is I've lost over 4 lbs, but still feel poorly. be back as soon as I feel able, poor Mum had no visitors today, my daughter went on Sunday and Monday but didnt go today. I didnt feel up to getting out of bed and i dont want mum to catch it. God sometimes life sucks. Hubby says I must be run down, as nobody else caught it.
  9. You are a sweetie Gillian, thanx for the compliments. When did you get so wise kid???? I think you are spot on with that info, well done you. You have sat and thought that through. I dare anyone to contradict you, cos it seems very plausable to me. So the ice-cream and choccy are out from now on. I am going to try chicken tikka wraps for my tea, and see how that works out  Just a thought, when my other band was working, I did try a couple of times to eat out at our local Indian, but could never manage more than a couple of forkfulls of curry and rice, whats that all about? In the end I stoped trying and stuck with the chutney and poppadums, and sometimes I couldnt even manage them, it depends how fresh they are I think, cos fresh stuff goes donw easier, I found.
  10. Hi Retta, good luck sweetheart in whatever you decide, but can I just say that my daughter was banded in 2005 and she has lost 8 stone up to now. She is also 4 months pregnant, and has to have C sections (she has 2 other kids). She loves being pregnant, whilst slim, and has only put on 2lbs. I have read the other posts, and I am so enchanted by the lovely people on this board, everyone is so kind and nice, and willing to give their advice and their views, so refreshing to 'meet' so much kindness all in one place. I am proud to be a member of this fabulous community. btw I know this is the Ozzy thread, but my other daughter has just moved to the Gold Coast, so I feel closer to you all, hope you dont mind me sticking my nose in.
  11. Ah bless you all, she is lovely inside too, a sweet girl, well not a girl, she's 31 lol.
  12. I know this is off-topic, but wanted you to see my baby girl who's gone to Austrailia for 12 months, miss her like mad. I know you saw the party ones, but they werent that nice this was taken 2 years ago when her hair was bobbed.
  13. Thanx Garry, was having a senior moment lol. I think I had about 5 fills with the first band before it was tight enough, but like has been said we're all different. Today mine is pretty loose again. Damned annoying!!! Gillian, I know its an old thread, but did you read what they were saying about mushy stuff like mash and ice cream? They more or less said that it slips right through the band into your big tum, so you can eat a lot. We are sposed to try eat other stuff and chew it like mad so it doesnt get stuck and stays in our pouch for longer and fills us up with a little bit. What do you think about that? Seems to make sense to me really. But I dont understand, if you chew it like mad wont it slip through like the mush? Just wanted someone else's opinion.
  14. What do you mean exactly Garry, do you mean you need another fill? How much you got in now love? I'm booked in with Michael VDB for early may in the Alexandra Hosp in Manchester, cant wait for that and if he misses trhe port too, I'm gonna cry.
  15. I have been reading old posts in this thread.... http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f9/share-ideas-what-did-you-eat-today-36828/ and I think they are talking some good sense, about the mushy food thing. Makes me think I was doing it wrong last time. What do you think?
  16. Thanx Gillian for that, its made me feel much better. Well thinking back i spose it did really, so long ago I forget. I am being good and sticking to liquids till tomorrow.
  17. CW...glad its all over for you, now you can be a loser too lol xxx
  18. @ Bigsis, nice one. Poor Gillian. And poor Wishfull, is it the plug connection I wonder....ours did that a while ago and we had to take it in for repair, it turned out to be the powerpack plug was damaged, so we had to fork out £45 for a new powerpack. How does she feel Gillian do you know? My restriction isnt so good as yesterday now, I hope to God my tubings ok. Got to go now, gonna talk to daughter in Oz on msn. later kids xxxx
  19. Thanx Garry, every filler says different things. The Manchester X-ray used to tell me to stay on liquids for 24hours, I cant remember what Mvdb told me. I dont have as much restriction this morning ...damn!!!! I hope freddy didnt pierce my tubing on the first go, cos he thought he was in the port and he wasnt, he had to take the needle back out and start again. That would be all I needed. Doesnt bear thinking about.
  20. Not so sure about that Garry, cos I feel a bit hungry, when my last band worked, I wasnt hungry very much....I just hope it stays like this, and doesnt slacken off, cos I'll be gutted. Well at least you are being good and staying on your liquids. Freddy didnt even tell me what to eat! maybe he thought I should know eh lol. How long do I stay on liquids for 2 days? And is it back on mush then?
  21. Its very quiet here tonight....creeps off to watch a movie
  22. I tried to have some Tomato soup about 3 hours ago and could only manage a few spoonfulls. Now I'm trying again, and its much the same....Geez i hope this is how its sposed to feel cos with my first band I never felt like this after a fill!!!!! Garry you had well gone by 12:30 when Sammy got there. Thats a bit sexist isnt it, what we do best???? Blummin cheek:tt2:
  23. I forgot to say Freddie said Michael Van den Bossche is an excellent and well known surgeon throughout Europe and the UK. But i already knew that
